《Hot Chocolate》chapter sixty-one, without you.

"You're my favourite person in this world. And it fucking kills me knowing what you're going through, because I don't know what I can do to fix it."
Now would have been the perfect opportunity. I could just tell. I watched her lips curl into a smile and my hand cupped her cheek. No matter how much I wanted to kiss her, I knew it would go against everything I just said.
"You're my favourite person too."
I needed to tell her. I need to kiss her. But I have to keep reminding myself of what she just went through, and it would be selfish of me to make any sort of move while she's vulnerable like this.
I pressed my forehead to hers, feeling her exhale on my lips.
"How about I get changed and we watch a movie or something?"
"Yeah."
We broke our position and I got off the bed, picking up my t-shirt and joggers that were folded on her chair.
I kept my back to her as I undid my shirt, glancing in her mirror to see if she was looking at me. She picked up her laptop, but her eyes flicked to my body when she heard my shirt drop to the floor.
I unbuttoned my trousers, and she started typing. My pants dropped to the floor, pooling around my feet. "What are we gonna watch?" I turned to her as I picked up my clothes, folding them so they aren't creased tomorrow.
"I don't-" she paused when she looked at me, turning her head back to the lit up screen before she finished her sentence. "I'm not sure."
I put on my sweatpants, not bothering to put on a t-shirt before going back over to her and getting in the bed beside. "Let's see..."

We couldn't decide on a movie. We talked so much that we ending up turning off her laptop and just lying in bed, looking at her ceiling. "Earlier- when I got out of the shower..."
I rolled over onto my side, trying to predict her next words. "How long were you stood there before you came in?"
"A minute or two." I admitted.
"I thought so."
"Did you hear me coming upstairs?"
"No, I saw your boner." She giggled.
"I'm sorry- I just-"
"It's fine." She laughed.
We lay there awkwardly, me embarrassed for being caught. I recalled our conversation from earlier.
"I just needed to get him out of my system."
"And did you?"
"Almost."
"Did you not finish?" I asked randomly.
"No." She confessed after a few seconds.
"Why didn't you?"
"I can't." She rolled her eyes, looking away. "I can't do it myself."
"So you haven't..."
"Never, without you."
"Oh." I tried to stop my smile.
She rolled onto her side, lying parallel to me.
We stared at each other silently, waiting for someone to say something.
"I haven't either."
"Why not."
"I don't want to, without you."
She looked at me with those eyes and I knew, I won't be able to stop myself. She doesn't need this right now, she has enough on her plate - I reminded myself.
"We should get some sleep."
"Mhm." She agreed. "Will you turn out the light?"
"Yeah."
She got herself comfortable while I switched off the lights, going back to my spot on her bed.
She slurred slightly, moving herself onto my arm. I wrapped it around her, giving her a small squeeze.
She moved her face, pressing her lips gently to my cheek. "Goodnight, Dory."

"Goodnight, doll."

I woke up in an empty bed. "Cam?" My hand tapped the bed beside me, while the other rubbed my eyes, looking for her. "Camila?"
"In the bathroom." She called.
I rolled off the bed, trailing out of her room. "Are you decent?" I joked as I opened the bathroom door.
"Good morning." She muttered as she brushed her teeth. Her hair was tied up and she was dressed completely in her uniform.
"We're going to school?"
"Obviously - it's Friday."
"You don't want to just skip?"
"Nope. We're going to school, then we're going to your mom's for dinner."
"You sure you're up for it?"
"Relax, I'm fine. Thank you."
"Okay." I agreed, still unsure. "It's okay if you're not okay, you know."
"I know. But I'm over it. I'm not letting him ruin things anymore than he has."
"I'll go get dressed then."
*
After getting changed, eating breakfast, and Camila convincing me things will be alright, we set off for school. I doubt Matt will show his face anyway, he's smarter than that.
Camila texted Zoe the full ride to school, telling me all the important bits but leaving out the details of what happened after their dinner. I wonder if Spencer knows that Camila knows all about what he's like in bed. Hell, Zoe probably knows my dick size.
We pulled up and I scanned the parking lot for Matt's car before unlocking the doors and letting her out of my car. "You're not leaving my sight today." I informed her.
"I'm a big girl, Theo. We're not even in all the same classes today."
"Then you'll find me straight after them. I'm bringing you straight home after school too, no going for coffee or studying."
"Yes sir." She saluted, opening her door.
The social area was thankfully quiet empty, no Matt or Joey in sight.
"Captain T!"
Jake talked to us a bit about yesterday's match, practically bouncing off the walls.
"Man, it was so sick, you were like-" he gestured with him hands like he was bouncing a ball, making Camila cover her giggled with the back of her hand. "And then I was like- bam! It was so sick man."
"You were both great." Camila informed us when the bell rang. "I'll see you second class."
She disappeared out the room, making my leg shake nervously. I shouldn't have let her out of my sight in the first place. "Hey man, is she with you or Matt?"
"She's not with Matt. Matt's an asshole." I informed him, excluding context.
"Ah. I see. So is she with you?"
"Why are you asking?"
He raised his hands defensively, "Just curious, man, don't worry, I ain't trying anything."
"See you later, J."
I flung my bag over my shoulder, making my way to my class.
