《Keeping Lennox》Chapter Twenty Two

After the hospital visit, we were able to get Lennox on a routine schedule. It all went smoothly. Lennox was a pro with the nebulizer. She laid still and let it do it's magic.

Lennox is growing like a weed. She just turned four months old. Cassie says she looks like me, but I don't really see it.

We spend every minute with Lennox. We never want to miss a moment.

But tonight, tonight is prom night. And I couldn't be any more happier. We hated leaving Lennox, but this is what Cassie and I needed.

I got ready and went to pick up Cassie. I told her I would pick her up instead of her driving.

I knocked on her door. Her mother answered and pulled me in.

She hollered up the stairs," Cass, Wade is here."

Why am I so nervous all of a sudden? I knew why. The reason for my nervousness was standing at the top of the stairs. She was beautiful.

Cassie's POV

Prom. Prom is tonight. And I am going with Wade. I did a little happy dance in my room. I hope he likes my dress. I chose my dad's favorite color: purple. He always loved when I wore purple.

My dress is floor length and is sleeveless. I bought a silver shaw to go with it because I am very cold natured.

My mom hollered that Wade was here.

Oh man. Why am I so nervous? I went out my door and stopped at the top of the stairs. There he was. My boyfriend. Wow. He looked handsome.

I descended down the stairs, and he met me and grabbed my hand. He pulled out a box and put the wrist corsage on my hand. I pulled out my box and pinned his corsage to him.

We stared at each for what seemed like forever.

Wow, Cassie. You look beautiful." He said twirling me around to get a better look.

"And you," I said wrapping my arms around his neck. "Look mighty handsome. I might just keep you around."

He kissed my lips. "You better."

My mom cleared her throat and asked us to stand for pictures. The doorbell rang. It was Kayla and Michael. They had arrived with the limo. My brother, Cade, walked in with his girlfriend, Allie. We were all riding together.

Mom, of course, made the whole group stand together. She was always the photographer.

We said goodbye and went to the limo. This is the night I have been waiting for. Senior prom had finally arrived.
