Christmas vacation came and went. It was now January 3, 2011. First day back at school.

Two great things came out of this. 1) last semester of my senior year. 2) I got to see Cassie more often.

Cassie was already there when I went downstairs for breakfast. She looked at me and smiled. She told me last night that she enjoyed seeing Lennox and would like to do it again sometime.

"Morning, Wade," my mom smiled. She was cooking pancakes, my favorite.

I walked over and kissed her cheek, "morning, mom."

I looked back over to Cassie. She smiled and said, "morning."

I closed my eyes. Why is she so beautiful? And why have I never noticed it before?

I leaned down and whispered something in her ear.

She giggled. Man. I sure did love her laugh.

I sat down in the chair beside her, and mom dropped pancakes on both of our plates.

"Mmmm, smells delicious, Mrs. Wanda," Cassie smiled and began to eat her pancakes.

I couldn't even eat. I was too busy staring at her. I hope she doesn't notice. Too late.

"Why are you staring at me?" She blushed.

I stated, "because you are beautiful."

With that, I began to eat my pancakes. When we finished, we both left.

Cassie's POV

Wade Bentley is one strange boy. He has not stopped staring at me since we got into his car. (We carpool. It was a deal we made when we each got our license.)

He wasn't making me uncomfortable. I liked his eyes being on me. I have been in love with him for some time now. I just can't tell him. He is a busy father.

I really did enjoy spending time with him and his daughter. I found myself thinking that we made a cute family.

What? No! Cassie Chandler, you can't be thinking of this stuff right now. Wade is your best friend. He probably doesn't even feel the same about you.

I glanced back at him, and he grabbed my hand. I guess this will do for now.

We pulled into school, and we both were being stared at. Well, this is awkward.
