《Unwanted》Chapter 50

Having been dictated and controlled with instructions and rules my entire life, to say that I have no idea what to do is an understatement. Instead of being the one to follow instructions, I am giving them and reprimanding people if they do it incorrectly. I was out of place, I did not fit in here.

Having to wake up early wasn't something I wasn't used to, so that was common ground for me. Being outdoors wasn't unusual for me either, but, once I got a glance at the groups of people, I shrunk back. The shorts I was wearing showcased very faint scars and made me feel very exposed. Though, instead of wearing a tank top or just a sports bra like the other women, I had on a sweatshirt. Orion sent me a weird look as we were leaving the room but he didn't question my actions.

Instead of jumping right in the action, I stayed back to the outskirts of the training field, watching and observing. Orion had assured me that I didn't have to do anything if I didn't want to or if I felt overwhelmed and I am very appreciative of that now. There were too many people, much more than I had previously expected to be here. Scents piled onto one another, some I had never ran into before, one of a different pack. Orion wanted to stand by me and comfort me but when two men had a disagreement that turned into a blood bath, he had to intervene.

My eyes scanned the arena for possible threats, a habit in which I am convinced will never die down. As I intently searched the area, someone caught my attention. She was very small and if I hadn't been observing as much as I was, I would have overlooked her. Though she could be easily overlooked, her hair is what caught my attention immediately. It was cropped of at just a over shoulders and it was a startling pink and purple color.

As I paid more attention to her, I noticed she was having trouble with throwing punches at a punching bag. Even though it seemed as if she were putting all of her power into her swings, the bag was barely moving. Analyzing her movement and form, I noticed she doing it incorrectly and would probably injure herself if she would to continue this. I debated walking over to her because to do that, I would have to walk directly into the center of the arena, for all to see. As I watched her throw another bad punch and then client had her fingers painfully by her side, I decided that was most definitely needed in the situation.

Keeping my head down, I blindly walked towards her direction, trying to make myself as small and unnoticed as possible. No one seemed to notice my presence, which I was glad, and managed to weave through the people sparing. The girl hadn't noticed me yet, so I was able to get a better look of her stance so I would know what I needed to correct. Waiting a few moments to give her time to notice me, she threw more punches and didn't even know that I was there.

Knowing she was either going to break a knuckle or sprain a wrist if she continued, I decided to set in. I stepped forward and gently tapped on her shoulder, awaring her of me. Quickly, she spun around and I had to duck under her arm to avoid getting hit.

"Oh my Goddess!" She panicked, her eyes widening as I stood up. "Luna, I am so sorry! I didn't-"

"It's okay." I cut her off mid-panic, assuring her that nothing was wrong. "You didn't know I was there and I'm sorry for startling you. I was wondering if you wanted some help." I said and festered to the punching bag.

"I'm that horrible, aren't I." She muttered, her face turning red from anger and embarrassment.

"No, not horrible. You just need a bit of correcting, if you would like." She agreed and I told her to get into the position like she was about to throw a punch.

"Okay, first, you need to widen your legs. Put them to about shoulder width and then relax your knees a bit and stay on your toes. You'll be faster that way and you'll be able to react quicker." She did as I said and swung. The bag moved a bit more than before but not by much.

"Now, you have a powerful swing but, you don't just use your arm. You also use your core muscles. Concentrate your energy there and move your other arm. You want your other arm to shield your body just in case you miss and then they swing at you." I adjusted her arm so it would block her body. "Now try it."

I watched as she brought her hand back and swung. The impact made a solid noise against the fabric and the bag swung further back. Having her repeat it, her blows got better and better, improving overtime. Then, I taught her the same thing, using her non-dominant hand to punch instead.

"Thank you, Luna." She said and tipped her head a little bit, sending me a small bow.

"It was no problem at all and please, call me Malia."

"Seriously, thank you, Luna Malia. I asked Rebecca for help on multiple occasions but she either ignored me or blew me off." She blushed again, wiping the sweat of her face. "I eventually just gave up and accepted the fact that I would be a baby sitter instead of a warrior."

"You would make a fine warrior and if you need any help, just come to me-" I paused, not knowing her name.

"Roxy." She grinned, her vibrant hair reflecting the light.

"Okay, Roxy. You can come find me if you need help." I hesitated before asking, considering that it could be a rude question. "How is your hair that color?"

She titled her head at me. "It's hair dye, Luna Malia. You can make your hair any color you want. I can do yours if you want!" She got excited. I debated it but decided it would be best if I didn't. Having a different colored hair would only draw more attention to myself.

"You did really good today." Orion complimented me, referring to how I helped with Roxy.

"Thank you."

"You're welcome, Malia." My stomach heated up at the sound of my name being formed by his lips. I was already distracted by his thumb rubbing circles on the back of my hand, but hearing him say my name made the sparks more intense.

The flames of the fire grew, the hear becoming more intense, as the men three more logs into it. Orion had called it a 'bonfire'. It was used as a greeting and a sort of party for his pack and Alpha Ryland's pack to meet each other and get along.

Glancing up at him, I choked on my words, complete forgetting what I was going to ask him. A hue of orange and red illuminated his face, highlighting his masculine features, making him more handsome. As if he felt me staring at him, he looked over, making me blush at getting caught in the action. I could see the reflection of the flames dancing behind his eyes, making his gaze seem more intense.

"Everything okay, Malia?" I shivered as he said my name again.

"I- I think I'm going to go get some water." I blurted, needing to get away from him and make the feeling go away. My lower belly burned and I felt an emotion that I had never felt before. I shifted uncomfortably when my underwear started to feel wet, making me think I just peed myself. I watched as his nostrils flailed, taking a deep breath of air and his eyes turned dark, his gaze even more intense.

"I can go get it for you." He said, his voice low, sultry even.

"N-no, i-it's okay. I-I'll get it." I stuttered and pulled away, waiting for him to let go of my hand. Once he did, I quickly weaved through the people, trying to find something cold to put out the fire that seemed to consume me from the inside out. Finally finding the table full of drink, I chugged down a cup before filling it again.

"I know why they are after you." A voice sneered behind me, making me turn around.

"Pardon me?"

"You're a murderer." Rebecca sneered again.

"I don't know what you are talking about." I managed to sputter out without stuttering. I attempted to walk past her but she got in my way.

"You know damn well what I am talking about. You're a murderer and you know it."

"No, I'm not."

"You killed innocent people for entertainment and I making sure that everyone knows what you did." When she walked away, I noticed everyone glaring at me, hatred burning in their eyes and searing me. My hands trembled and I dropped my cup. How did she know?

"You don't deserve to be Luna." Rebecca smiled at me smugly before walking away. My body started trembling under their eyes and I could feel the hatred they were sending me. Feeling my air ways close up and watching as my eye sight started turning black, I darted into the woods.
