《Unwanted》Chapter 32

He long legs took large, powerful strides, trying to get us to his destination as soon as possible. His long fingers were intertwined with mine, gently pulling me along with him. His hands practically swallowed mine, felt large and powerful, yet gently as they held my own. Alpha kept me close to him, eyes scanning every direction, looking for any threat that we may come across.
Eventually, I recognized the familiar path that led to his house. His scent lingered the strongest outside of his home, letting everyone know who's home this belong to, scent marking his territory. He festered me to go inside first, then shut the door behind us. This time, it was different. He gently released my hand and locked the door and then began moving through his large home quickly, locking each door and window. I follow silently behind him. To help him out, I reached up to shut an open window but he stopped me.
"You're hurt." He grunted, shutting the window and then latching it shut. "I don't want you to irritate it and make it worse."
When he was satisfied with locking all the door he picked up and hand again and led me upstairs. I jumped as a another loud howl disturbed the night, making me loose my footing and almost fall. Alpha caught me in time and picked me up, holding me to his chest. Walking the the hall, he nudged open the door to his bedroom. His pine and cedar scent doused everything in the room. I noticed that his bed was messy and unmade. A blanket was half way onto the floor and a body pillow was laying parallel to the bed, almost as if he were laying on it.
Alpha led us to a closed door, one that I had never been in. The bathroom was huge, much larger than my childhood room. It had a huge bath and giant walk in shower. The whole room a meticulous clean. Nothing lined the sinks, no shampoos or body was in the bath or shower. The whole room was spotless.
Alpha stepped forward and twisted the knobs, water began filling the bath. Reaching his hand down, he plugged the drain shut so that the water would not drain. He stood again and began opening random drawers and cabinets, pulling out towels, a wash cloth, bottles, a tooth brush and tooth paste.
"I'll be right back." He said to me and then exited the room. The mirror began to fog up from the heat of the bath. Looking at it, I could see a clouded version of myself. Her hair was greasy and full of tangles. Her skin was covered with a layer of dirt and grim. Crimson blood stained her clothing and had dried on her arm and hand. My hair had gotten so long, my features much sharper and thinner than the last time I saw myself years ago. Then I moved onto my eyes, the only thing that I wished that connected me to my father, the only thing we would ever had in common. While his were filled with anger and rage, mine were filled with fear, tears escaping them and rolling down my cheeks. I wished to be something he was not, to be kind like people said my mother was, to live in her memory.

Alpha came back into the room. He was holding a shirt and boxers, obviously his as it smelled like him. In the pile of clothing, on top, was a pair of women's underwear. Noticing my gaze, he set the clothing on the counter and shifted his weight from foot to foot.
"Blaire told me your size as she had given you clothes before." A pink hue adorned his cheeks. "I-uh got you some clothes of your own, so you wouldn't have to use hers anymore."
"Thank you." I whispered. He didn't have to waste his money on me. I spend more time in wolf form than I do in skin, barely needing any sort of clothing at all.
"It's no problem." He cleared his throat and walked over to the bath again, turning off the water before it overflowed. "Is this to hot for you?" He asked me. He's letting me use hot water? I let my fingertips skin across the water, letting the warmth heat my skin.
"No, i-it's fine." Keeping my gaze on the warm water. This was foreign to me, a complete luxury in such a simple form.
"Well, I'll get out of your way then. Feel free to use what every you like and take your time. If you need anything, anything at all, just yell for me, I'll just be in the bedroom." I nodded to him, letting him know I understood and he left the room, shutting the door behind him to give me privacy.
Avoiding the mirror, I stripped myself of the bloody clothing. Warm overcame my body as I stepped into the water and sat down. Alpha had set the towels and bottles on the edge of the bath so that I may be able to reach them. Grabbing the shampoo I poured the smallest amount into my palm, I began to work it throughly through my hair. I ducked down and shook my hair with my hands, removing the suds from the shampoo. I then did the same with the conditions but I had only put it on the ends of my hair. The water had turned brown with a hint of pink after I scrubbed my arms and legs, carefully around my injuries.
When my fingers started to wrinkle, I decided it was time to get out. I unplugged to drain and the ware began to slowly move down it, swirling around. Grabbing a towel, I quickly dries of, making sure I didn't leave any water in the floor. Slipping on the shirt, it reached my thighs. I had to roll the band down a few times on the boxers because they were to big. His clothes almost swallow me because he was so large. I grabbed the new toothbrush that was set out beside the sink, I brushed my teeth. My gums bled a bit from not cleaning them in a while, gross. I picked up my clothes from the floor and folded them, probably stained .

When I was done, I left the room, turning off the light behind me. Alpha was laying in the bed, leaning up against the headboard. He had his tv on, set on a low volume. His eyes immediately met mine as I entered the room. I felt... odd beneath his gaze. It wasn't bad but I wasn't sure if I should like it. His eyes slid from my face to by body, his eyes widening and he quickly stood up from the bed.
"Come on." Gently pushing my back, he led me back to the bathroom. To my surprise, he picked me up and place me on the counter so that I was eye level with him. Opening the cabinet beneath me and to my right, he pulled out box with a red cross on it. I looked at him and tilted my head, confused.
"Why-?"
"You're bleeding again." It was then when I realized that both my arm and my my feet were bleeding. I could feel the sting of the cuts but I wasn't that bother by it.
"I'm s-sorry." I apologized and hung my head. I heard the sound of his bare feet on the tile floor as he walked away and then came back. Lifting my head, he ran a warm washcloth across my face, a concentrated look on his face.
"It's okay. It's not your fault. I'm not upset with you." He assured me. "You missed some dirt on your face." He gave me a small smile. I didn't respond but he began working on my arm and feet. Grabbing a pair of tweezers, he pulled out the embedded glass from my skin and applied gauze even though they would heal soon. He walked away once again and I hopped down from the counter.
"Go ahead and sit on the bed, I'll be out in a minute." He said while rummaging through his drawers. Doing as I was told, I sat on the corner of the bed until he came out. My eyes traveled to the tv. It was some show or movie with talking lions and animals dancing and singing about being a king. I scrunched my nose and tilted my head. What was this?
"You've never seen The Lion King?" I inhaled a quick breath in fright. I didn't notice him coming back into the room.
"No." I muttered quietly. "I didn't watch much tv." I saw a brush in his hand, thinking he was going to hand it to me. I tended up when he sat behind me and began to untangle it for me. He started from the bottom and worked his way up, careful not to pull or tug it to hard. He ran his fingers through my hair. Tingles ran down my spine as his fingers brushed the back of my neck.
"So soft." I heard him whisper. Slowly pulling away, I stood up.
"Where should I sleep?"I asked.
"Here. If that's okay, of course." I nodded but I knew that I would not be getting any sleep tonight. I planned on curling up in the corner again and watch the door. I watch as he threw a pillow on the ground and grabbed the extra blanket that sat at the foot on the bed.
"What are you doing?" I quietly asked. That's probably where I would be sleeping.
"Making my bed." He rubbed the back of his neck and the pink appeared again on his cheeks. "My wolf is still uneasy and I don't want to leave you just yet."
"I'll sleep on the floor." He immediately shook his head.
"No. No, you take the bed. I will be sleeping on the floor."
"This is you room, though. You shouldn't be sleeping on the floor."
"I don't want to make you uncomfortable..." He trailed off.
"It's fine." I whispered. I planned on switching to the floor anyway. He picked up the pillow off the floor and placed it on the bed once more. Pulling back the blanket and sheets, he slipped in, patting the bed next to him for me to join. I did so, slowly. The matters was soft beneath me, the blanket heavy and warm, covered with Alpha's scent. He then turned over and flicked the lamp off, filling the room with darkness. The only sound in the room were the soft sounds of our breathing and my he tv.
"Sorry that it's so quiet." He said, turning up the volume. "I wanted to hear you if you needed me."
"Thank you, Alpha" I responded after a few seconds.
"Please." He almost begged. "Please don't call me that. Call me Orion."
I stayed quiet, evening my breathing so that he would think I fell asleep. He rolled over on his side. I could feel his warm breath on the back of my neck as he exhaled. I waited. Listening until his breath became even and slow and soft snore escaped him. Slowly, I slipped out from the warm bed and tiptoed to my corner. Curling into a ball, I watched as the black haired lion related his claws, letting the red haired lion fall of the cliff. A smaller lion yelled, calling out to his dad, crying. It hurt my heart.
I leaned my head against the wall. I could hear his deep breathes and quiet snores, lulling me to sleep.
