Amelia Lovecraft

I hollered as Kane struck Lincoln on the back. It was too late, the knife was stuck to Lincoln's shoulder when he turned to Kane. Blood oozing out, staining his white T-shirt. My hands vigorously shook the damn chains that held me back.

A dry chuckle was heard, surprisingly it was Lincoln.

"A silver fucking knife?" He choked Kane, by holding him up by the throat, his feet dangling mid air.

"Gotta try harder than that bitch boy." With a grunt he pulled out the silver knife. Blood spluttered out of the open wound. My sobs got louder.

Lincoln angled the knife to Kane's throat, but suddenly changed his mind. He punctured the knife through Kane's palm and then slamming it into the wall above his head. He left the monster hanging on the wall, before rushing to me.

"Lincoln! There's blood. You're losing so much blood." I cried, pressing my hands on his wounded shoulder. It didn't seem to bother him one bit, since he just held me so close to his chest.

"Don't ever leave me baby." He mumbled into my hair.

Two of Lincoln's guards ran into the cabin. Inspecting the situation before rummaging through the room.

"Got it." One of them yelled, holding a pair of keys. Racing to my side to unlock the chains.

"I should have listened. I'm sorry." I clung to Lincoln's shirt. He began untying my wrist. As soon as the ropes were off I threw my arms around him. "I thought I'd never see you again." I burst out in tears.

Lincoln shushed me, "it's all over baby, I got you." He rocked me back and forth, till the chains came off.

"The first aid kit." The other guard spoke rushing outside. Kane's gore image came to view when I stood up. He was nailed to the wall by the very knife he had sharpened to kill me. He howled in pain, while trying to pull the knife out. Failing miserably at it.

"Aren't you gonna kill him?" I looked at Lincoln.

"I'm leaving him to Kai." He smirked.

"No! I can walk." I stopped Lincoln, who bent down to pick me up. He was hurt on the shoulder already.

He narrowed his eyes at me. Holding me by the waist. I gave him a weak smile before we proceeded to the exit.

Something squeezed my injured ankle on my way out, making me let out a cry. Lincoln and I stopped to look down.

A bloodied and completely battered Sarah held on to my leg. Our eyes met, hers of course switched between Lincoln and myself. I tried wriggling her off, but she didn't let go. The next second, she looked petrified. Her hands slid off me.

"Linc, don't!" She shook her head.

"I should have done this a long time ago." Lincoln pointed his gun to her head. His menacing eyes on her, while his vacant hand pressed my face into his chest.

With a loud bang! Sarah was dead. For good.

Even Kane, had remained quiet after that.

Eventually we headed outside the cabin. Two warriors arrived to our sides, guiding me into the car. I sat in the seat, while my legs were still outside. Lincoln bent down, kissing me on lips. He stood straight, taking off his T-shirt and throwing it away. One of the guards had begun cleaning my wounds, while I watched Lincoln shift.

Soon the black wolf emerged. His eyes ready for the kill. I kept looking at him as he puffed up his fur. Before approaching the cabin, he looked at me and huffed with a low bark. He expressed his sorrow, walking into the cabin. He missed Heera. The tears fell to my lap as the guard looked up to me. He didn't have the words to say to me but his gaze held sympathy.

The voice of Kane, crying out in pain was heard. Two of Lincoln's men, stood near the wood house while a guard accompanied me. Everyone had their attention at the entrance of the cabin.

I gasped when Kane ran out frantically with his hand covered and dripping in blood. The warriors alert to capture him, but a dark shadow followed.

With one deep snarl, Kai pounced on Kane's body. Throwing him to the ground. He screamed in terror as the black beast bared his teeth at him. It's claws digging into his chest. Kai's jaw widened and the next thing you know. He launched at Kane's throat. I shut my eyes closed.

When I opened them, Kai walked to the little stream of water, gulping it and rubbing his mouth on his paws. He stood in the stream for a couple of minutes cleaning himself up. Then Kai shook his body, drying his fur.

His face softened as he neared me. I would understand if Kai was disappointed in me. With a whine that sounded like a soft cry, he rubbed his face on mine. Licking my mark, and my wounds. He sat on his fours, while I leaned into him. "I'm sorry Kai. Heera will be back once I've healed. I promise." I kissed his head. Satisfied by my words, he licked my face again before going to shift inside the woods.

I woke up, to bright walls and plenty of flowers of all sorts kept all around the room.

Lincoln brought me back to the pack house. As soon as we reached the pack border, I met my parents who looked like they had been to hell and back. Mama couldn't stop snivelling at the sight of me, while I laid on my dad's shoulder, until I fell asleep. Lincoln's parents requested the pack members to give us some privacy, since they had all crowded around us, the moment we had arrived. The care and love we received was just overwhelming, for that I'm always grateful.

While I laid on my father's shoulder, I watched as Alex treated Lincoln's shoulder. Heera was still healing from the silver nitrate injected into my body. I'm hoping she'll be back in a day or two.

Selena has been checking up on me through mum, she has delivered a healthy boy pup. I sighed, rubbing my eyes.

"You're finally awake darling." Cathy walked in with a grin. She placed a kiss on my forehead, rubbing my back. I gave her a smile. "David and Cassie left a while ago, they'll be here tomorrow."

"I'm sorry, I think I've troubled everyone."

"Don't be ridiculous Mia. Who would've thought my son would date such a crazy woman in the past." She scoffed, playfully nudging me before laughing. "It's all on her, not you." Cathy tried to lighten up the mood.

I nodded, still feeling guilty for not listening to Lincoln. I put Luke's life on the line with mine. The reason why Lincoln was stabbed on the shoulder and my wolf needed healing.

"Amelia don't!" Cathy held my cheeks, wiping them with her thumbs.

"Mia!" Lincoln's voice resounded in panic through the room, seconds before he appeared. "Baby, what's wrong?" His eyes softened when they landed on me.

Cathy, stood up. "She's blaming herself for what happened."

"Mia, look at me!" Lincoln sat in front of me. "I know how you feel baby. It's not your fault Kane and Sarah tried to pull that stunt on you." His forehead furrowed. "Understand?" I nodded, biting my lip.

I pushed aside the shirt from his shoulder, before leaning into him to inspect his lower shoulder. He hadn't bled after the dressing, his wound had already begun to heal. With Lincoln being so close, I wanted to hug him so tight and never let go. But that would only mean further pain on his wound.

"You can hug me if you want." Lincoln whispered, holding me by the waist. I gently placed my arms around his neck, and kissed his cheek.

"I thought the silver knife would do something really bad to you." As an Alpha, Lincoln probably tolerated silver better than ordinary wolves.

He chuckled at my words, while Cathy smiled at me. "The fucker would have to put a silver knife through my heart to-" my hand slapped his mouth, before could finish.

"Shut up!" I snapped, he kissed my hand making me gasp and pull my hand down. Cathy laughed quietly, leaving the two of us alone.
