Lincoln Hunters

We were now waiting in our car, in the midst of the small town, the guards had gotten a hold of Dean's (Sarah's late mate) brother. Somehow my men had broke into his house to find him plotting various plans on sneaking into the pack in seek of revenge. But ever since we had heightened the level of security and frequent patrols, he wasn't able to do so. That also explained the unfamiliar rogue scents around the borders.

Dean's brother Kane however has been living alone after his brother's death. Usually wolves living by themselves could either be living a normal human life without shifting at all. These kinds were harmless. While the other lonely wolves you come across wouldn't want to be near any other, they often kill on sight. They were barbaric, had no morals whatsoever. After the brutal murder of his own blood, Kane could be the latter.

The guards managed to get a hold of him at a ramshackle pub in this very town. As I was waiting to see him in person, it was his first request to my men too. Whatever he had to say or listen had to be from me. The people walking on the grubby sidewalks kept glancing our way. The humans had no idea who we were and who we were waiting to see.

The roads stank of the sewers, while rats and other filthy rodents ran through the streets. The houses looked pretty beat up as well.

"He's here Alpha." One guard mind linked before the SUV's door opened.

Kane, a worn out, lanky looking man stood. He looked like he scratched a living. His eyes though looked very unstable. They kept varying from green to black every second. His beast was awake even though he hardly shifted. I gestured with my head for him to get in to the vehicle. He rubbed his shaky hands on his jeans before climbing into the back, where he sat now. Kane's eyes ran all around the interior of the car, as if to avoid my gaze.

"What exactly do you want from my pack?" I wanted him to speak up before I give him my offer.

"I don't understand." He looked at me cautiously, his eyes darkening.

"You've been seeking revenge on my pack for years. What is it that you want? Something or someone?"

Kane balled his fists, "someone!" His temper began to flare. "Two wolves to be exact." He raked his greasy hair. "For all I know it's a brother and a sister. I want them fucking dead."

"Benjamin Cohen and Sarah Cohen."

"What?" He snarled.

"The two involved in Dean's death."

He nodded his head as my words settled in, tears brimming his angry eyes. "They killed him."

"Benjamin was executed a few days ago. For the murder of your brother." He growled in disappointment at the news.

"What about the bitch who betrayed my brother? I- is she alive?" His eyes sparkled with pure evilness, anticipating my reply.

I nodded and he let out a sickening laugh. "One down, one to go." He sang, shaking his head from side to side.

"I was thinking if we killed her in the pack-" I was cut off.

"NO!" He screamed. "You asked me if I wanted someone Hunters, stick to it! I want her alive." His eyes pitch black as he said the last word. Kane's wolf and human were emerged together.

"Just helping you out here Kane, that's why I've come all this way, haven't I?" I leaned back.

He nodded.

"We could get her killed in the dungeons, no blood in your hands." I wanted to try my luck here, sending Sarah alive out of the pack meant I was taking a chance. "They'll be punished for your brother's death."

"Alpha, that's the whole point. I want her blood on my hands." He looked down at his palms. "I wanna be responsible for her death. Slow death. Only then Dean would be proud of me."

"What happens after Sarah is handed to you?"

"I kill her."

"I don't want you near my pack borders after that. If anyone catches a whiff of you. I'll slaughter you myself." I held my gaze on him, as he swallowed.

"Done."

"Tonight I'll see you at the borders by the fields."

"Sarah Cohen you are now pronounced a rogue, you no longer hold any link to the Blood Hunters Pack." I spoke the words as the guard let go of her. Her hands and legs still in shackles.

"Finally, away from this pathetic pack. Watch me live my life alone Lincoln Hunters." She spoke nastily. "You'll regret doing this to me."

"Not to worry, you won't be alone." Tyler spoke.

Sarah stopped and looked at him in confusion.

"Look behind you." Matt pointed to the dark figure with green eyes.

Before the wolf emerged, Kane's bared teeth and raving eyes appeared through the darkness. In a second, a deep brown wolf pounced at Sarah. She screamed as Kane's wolf dragged her away by the neck. Those were the two faces I'd never want to see in my life again.

Only a few were present today, it wasn't a sight for everyone to watch. Tyler threw me an ice cold water bottle as we headed into the training grounds. Twisting the cap open, I poured the liquid on my face.

"Lincoln." A soft voice called me. "It's over now."

I nodded at my mother's words. "It's over mum."

"Yes. Mia is waiting for you in the pack house." I gave her a hug and walked into the pack house. I had to see her. We've been away from each other the whole day.

"Mia!" I called out as I entered my room, that I'm temporarily using till the renovations at the cottage is over. We have looked at a few other grand mansions the past few days but, she had her heart on the Elm Tree Cottage. And nothing was as good as that, in Mia's opinion. Perhaps she loved the simplicity of the manor.

"I'm here." I heard her melodious voice from behind the book shelf.

In three large strides, I stood behind her before she could place the book back in its place to face me. "Lincoln hi.." she huffed, while standing on her tip toes to place the random book back. I was about to pick her up but, she had done it herself.

"Hi baby." I smiled at her.

"Hi." She returned the gesture, snaking her hands around my torso. "How are you feeling?"

"Great." I said lifting her up in my arms. She squealed in surprise. "Now that you're here."

Walking us to the bed, I laid her on it. Hovering over her, we kissed. Both of us equally hungry for each other. Less than a minute into the kiss Mia pulled back to my disappointment.

"What.." she placed a few strands behind her ears, while crossing her legs on the bed. "What happened back at the borders Lincoln?" Her voice was small.

"Exactly what we had planned for. He took her with him, give it a couple a days of torture before he kills her." At the words I said, Mia looked horrified. Did she really care for a woman like Sarah? The one, if given the chance would do something bad to Mia in an instant.

Her pretty doe eyes stared out the window. Lost in her thoughts. I could only scoff at what's on her mind right now. She felt bad for Sarah. It's written all over her face. But what can you do? That was Amelia. She cared for anyone and everyone, too pure for the world we live in.

I pulled my wet shirt over my head, throwing it into the laundry hamper.

"Come here." I said snapping her out of her thoughts. She crawled onto to my lap.

"Stay with me the night? Please?"

"Since you asked nicely, yes." She giggled. "We're only cuddling and going to sleep though."

"Sure." Restraining myself from her was the hardest thing, still I understood why she had held back. Her thoughts were still surrounding Sarah.

Amelia Lovecraft

I chopped some cantaloupe and honey melons, placing it on the breakfast tray I prepared for Lincoln. Along with the French toast and bacon, I helped Cathy make for the whole pack house. With a cup of black coffee for him and a glass of orange juice for me, it was all coming together nicely.

Lincoln was still asleep so I gently brought in the tray and laid it on the coffee table.

Quietly walking to the bed, I sat down and stared at the man that I'm madly in love with. I'm glad to say his worry lines had disappeared, making him look very peaceful in his sleep. I could imagine the kind of stress he had been going through, since Sarah and Benjamin's betrayal. Finally putting an end to it by handing her over to the one whose been looking for her for years now. But I can't help myself from feeling apprehensive about Sarah being gone. I just hoped she was gone for good from our lives.

What if she escapes Kane and plots against Lincoln? Shivers ran through my body at the thought. I wouldn't bear to see him get hurt.

Lincoln's left arm stretched out on my pillow, where I rested my head all night long. While the other under his head. His lips slightly parted. My fingers were so tempted to touch him right now. Maybe I could just push back the hair on his forehead without waking him up. Discreetly moving my hand to his forehead, I touched a strand.

With a low growl and an abrupt move, Lincoln held my wrist, his eyes opened in alert.

"Baby." He spoke in his alluring sleepy voice. "Why are you up already?" Before I could respond, he tossed me to the other side of the bed.

Lincoln was now caging me in his arms, whilst his eyes were still closed.

"It's time to wake up already." I wiggled.

"Hmm..."

"Lincoln."

"Mm. Go back to sleep."

"You better be hungry." I said, for the effort I put into that breakfast tray, he better eat it before it gets cold.

"I'm very hungry." He looked up at me. Not so sleepy now.

"Good cause' I brought breakfast." I grinned.

"Of course you have." He smirked, hovering over me. Oh no! He's getting the wrong idea. Before I could explain, Lincoln pulled my dress down.

I guess the breakfast tray has to wait.
