I turned around on my bed to lay on my opposite side and immediately hissed in pain. I let out a quiet cry before sitting up and gently grazing my fingers over the wound, which was now treated and covered up.

The door abruptly opened and Penny walked inside.

"Penny?" I questioned.

"Mia, I heard you cry. Alpha is on his way sweetheart." She rushed to the arched windows opening them. Wait! My room didn't have arched windows. Finally taking in my surrounding, I was laid on a four poster bed, tucked in with plush blankets and the comfiest pillows. A grand bedroom with the finest furniture. On my right with a double door and then a single door. Assuming to be the walk-in closet and washroom.

"Penny?" I coughed. "Is this the pack house?"

She came up to me with a glass of water, which I gladly took. "No Mia, it's Alpha Lincoln's mansion. You're in his room." She smiled.

His mansion? His room? Before I knew my feet were on the ground.

"Mia! I know what you're thinking." Penny held me.

"I don't wanna be on their bed." I looked at it in disgust.

"Calm down, he threw it all out as soon as he got rid of that woman. This is new." She chuckled. "Lie down."

"How long have I been sleeping for?" I glanced down at my spaghetti strap night gown. It was so lightweight, I hardly felt like I had anything on me.

"Almost a day." I looked out the window to see the sun setting already.

"Penny I need to call my parents, oh goddess!" I placed a hand on my chest. Mum and dad are going to be alarmed since I haven't returned home.

"They came to visit you this morning love, it's all taken care of. Just lie down now." I sighed in relief.

"I wanna freshen up, is there an extra toothbrush?"

"This way." She gently held my hand and walked to the washroom. On the vanity laid a new toothbrush. Quickly picking it up I brushed my teeth and rinsed my mouth. I splashed some cold water on my face and winced when it touched the wound on my jaw.

I looked up at the mirror and the reflection it showed, pained me. I looked extremely pale almost lifeless. The scratch on my jaw wasn't opened, thanks to Kai I guess. My shoulder looked like it would take days to heal.

Thinking about what had happened last night, my eyes began to sting. "Mia." Penny comforted me by rubbing my back. I swallowed turning to her.

"Did you change me?" She nodded with a smile. I sighed.

"The Alpha wouldn't leave your side the whole time, he had to go to the office since Kayden's father was brought back for inquiry." A cold shiver ran down my spine at his name. "But he's on his way now."

I looked down at my gown to see that it wasn't completely opaque. Having no bra on was another disadvantage.

I was about to ask Penny for a robe, when we heard heavy stomping up the stairs. Both our heads snapped towards the noise and Lincoln appeared inside the bedroom. Wearing a black shirt with brown pants, looking very casual. He leaned on the door frame looking at me, while I did the same.

"Mia, you should rest. Or shall I prep a bath for you?" Penny asked making me look at her.

"Penny I.." I bit my lip, Lincoln's stare made me tongue tied. Oh god, what did I want to say to her? Stupid brain.

"I can take it from here Penny. You may leave now." Lincoln spoke up, walking into the room. It was her cue to leave. "Get well soon Mia." She rubbed my unharmed shoulder, "thank you," I replied giving her a small hug.

Lincoln and I, alone, in his bedroom. Who would have thought this day would come.

"Sit down. Don't strain yourself." He came closer to me. Not waiting for a reply, he gently lifted me up. "Lincoln I can walk." Paying no heed to my words, he walked to the love seat and placed me on it.

He sat on the other end of the couch, our knees touching each other.

"How are you feeling?" He asked pushing away my hair that laid on my wounded shoulder.

" I'm okay." Since Kai had licked and cleaned my scratch yesterday, it did lessen the pain. I hoped it also somewhat healed the wound.

"I had Alex come over to treat your shoulder. You'll be fine in a couple of days."

If it wasn't for Kai and Lincoln, last night might have been a nightmare for me.

"Lincoln, I'm sorry I didn't listen to you. I should've have taken Luke with me." I apologized, finally understanding his concern. If I had taken Luke with me, Lincoln didn't have to go through all this trouble.

"You should have Mia. Sadly it's too late because the bastard already laid hands on you." He looked straight at me.

"I don't understand why..." I was hoping he'd give me answers.

"Kayden wanted to mark you. Claim you as his because the night of the rogue attack he knew you were my mate. Claiming an Alpha's mate is a crucial thing." He laid back on the couch, his worry lines prominent. "According to the father, he's always wanted to take leadership and that's why he rejected his mate years ago. Just because she was an omega."

"That's not what he told me." I told him all of Kayden's lies.

"You can't believe everything you hear Mia." He said. "Look at what he's done to you. I wanna fucking bring him back to life and rip him to shreds with my very own hands." He spat every word in anger.

"If he hadn't let out the howl, I wouldn't have had any idea. No one thought that you were missing then. Luke waited outside the hospital since your car was parked there..." he tapped his foot on the floor. "Did he ask you to sneak out the back?" I nodded faintly. "Dammit Mia. What were you thinking?" He asked with disbelief trying to keep his temper at bay.

"I didn't expect him to be that crazy." I defended.

"I can't let you out of my sight anymore. You're turning me into a mad man without you beside me." Lincoln placed his elbow on the back of the couch while his fingers trailed below the scratch near my jaw. "It's worrying me too much Mia. After everything that happened I thought I'd give you the space you needed to think about us. I don't think I wanna do that anymore."

I relaxed at his touch, it's all I needed at this vulnerable stage I was in. My heart screamed to just be snuggled inside his arms. That's what I needed right now.

"You don't know how badly I wanna kiss you now." Lincoln whispered, moving closer to me. My legs almost tangled with his. I placed my cheek on his palm, looking up at him. His eyes darted to my lips.

"Show me then." I replied, I needed him.

The next second Lincoln kissed me. He held me like I was so precious, being very careful with my injury. My unharmed arm hooked around his neck when he gently pulled me to his lap. He kissed me with so much greed, as if he wanted me all to himself.

I slightly pulled away in need of air, resting my forehead against his. Our breaths heavy. "Linc-" I couldn't finish what I was about to say because he pulled my bottom lip with his teeth tenderly. His lips played a small smile as he let go of my lips. I couldn't help but blush. Looking down at his chest, my hand unwrapped his neck and slid down to his hard chest. Lincoln thought I was going to pull away so he immediately pulled me in, smacking his kissing on mine. I hummed in pleasure, but it only came out as a moan.

Our bodies pasted to each other. He pulled my hips, closer to his waist, making the nightdress ride up. My legs were exposed while straddling him.

I squealed, when Lincoln picked me up just like that and walked to the bed. He laughed at my surprised response, making me mirror his expressions. There were those dimples just as I had imagined.
