"Have you heard of knocking?" Lincoln spat at Tyler.

"Um, yeah shit! Err, maybe I'll come back later." He scratched the back of his head. "Fuck, why didn't you lock the door?" He yelled defensively.

"Just fucking knock next time Beta!"

"Yes Alpha, I'll come back later." Tyler was about to leave. "Don't forget the doors have locks."

"Tyler wait, I'm gonna leave anyway." I interrupted their childish quarrel.

"Mia wait!" Lincoln said to me before turning to Tyler, "what's that?" He asked gesturing to the papers Tyler held.

"It's Benjamin's conviction letter. You need to go through it before we proceed further." He answered.

Lincoln placed his hands in his pockets, "place it on the table and leave." He answered coldly.

Carefully placing the papers on the desk, Tyler walked near door, "later Alpha, bye Loons!" He grinned at me, for which I could only scowl at him. Of course, Tania would have told him.

The door closed softly, leaving us alone again. Lincoln had his eyebrows furrowed, most likely thinking of Benjamin.

"What's gonna happen to Benjamin?" My thoughts were just blurted out.

He looked at me, before walking to the desk and pulling the papers out. He handed them to me.

I took it my hand.

"You're going to kill him?" I froze, glancing at the paper.

"I would love to do it with my very own hands." He balled his fists. "The elders want the executioner to do the job."

"Is this necessary?" I asked him in disbelief, the pack hardly put any wolf on death sentence. I've only heard about it once before when I was little. "Can't you just lock him up in the cells or maybe there could be other ways to punish him.."

"You have to be joking Amelia." He eyes deadpanned on me. "Killing a wolf of another pack or a rogue wolf doesn't only put the murderer in trouble. It brings a threat to the whole pack he belongs to." He opened a few buttons from the top of his shirt, relaxing himself on the desk, while I stood absorbing all the information. "Killing Benjamin is the only way of informing the enemy that we've punished the wolf that betrayed our pack." He sighed, "but he murdered a rogue. Who knows where those fucking creatures reside. They could be anywhere, looking for revenge. Those sick bastards only need an excuse to cause havoc. Benjamin has given them a strong one to come for us."

"They?" Sarah's mate belonged to a bunch of rogues?

"Her mate lived with his brother. After the death of her mate, the brother has moved away from the town they lived in." A nervous feeling ran through my spine at Lincoln's words. There was a rogue lurking around for revenge.

"It's just one rogue right?"

"You never know Mia, rogues form groups whenever they can. End of the day they all only look for trouble."

"What's happens to Sarah? Isn't she the main cause for all this mess?"

He nodded, "Matt is questioning her about her mate, if he's got any other friends or family. A few warriors watching her every move. Once we track her mate's brother, she'll be asked to leave the pack." He crossed his arms.

"She becomes a rogue." I muttered.

"I want you to be safe, at least till this situation is cleared out. The guard stays with you." He spoke in a serious tone.

"There's guards all around the borders and in every corner of the streets Lincoln. I don't need a personal bodyguard." He began to get on my nerves again by trying to dominate me.

"Amelia, there's a fucking threat to this pack, and that means the enemy's eye is on the Alpha." He gritted. "How does one make the Alpha weak?"

He came close to me. "You are my weakness. I don't want anything harming you." His greyish green eyes now lined silver as he spoke the final words. "I'd rather die instead."

"Nothing is gonna harm me Lincoln, if anything the rogue has to go after Sarah and not me. I'm leaving. Bye!" I walked away from him, towards the door. He sighed heavily.

"Mia, cover yourself with that blazer, it's pretty chilly outside." He pointed at his blazer that was hung on a chair.

I looked out the window, the sun shone brighter than usual. "It's not chilly outside."

"Just wear the blazer. There are a bunch of young wolves training outside." He demanded.

"Nope." I opened the door and walked out.

"Mia!" I heard him call me impatiently. It didn't stop me as I proceeded nearing the stairs.

"Amelia!" Lincoln growled, walking out the door in longer strides.

Holding back a giggle I just walked down the stairs faster. His shoes stomped behind me.

Didn't the man have anything else to do right now?

A deep growl emerged from behind me, it was Lincoln. I turned around to look at him staring at a group of five youngsters, sprinting away from us.

I shook my head at his actions. Entering the ground floor, Penny stood there as she said. This time I gave her a hearty smile as I approached her with a grumpy Lincoln trailing behind me. "I'm so sorry about earlier." I gave her hug, which she returned laughing.

"Alpha." She bowed. "We've made some red velvet cake, it would be lovely if you two could have a taste of it. Please." She looked hopefully between him and I.

"Sure!" I nodded, feeling an impatient Lincoln behind me. Penny scurried off.

I glanced at the pretty vase of peonies, placed on a circular glass table in the middle of the foyer. All the while feeling Lincoln's eyes on me.

Penny brought us a slice of red velvet cake with two dessert forks. I knew my eyes were ogling at the slice of cake since it looked so delicious already. I definitely needed a treat after the longest interaction I've ever had with Lincoln. She gently handed the plate of cake to me, I picked one of the forks and sliced through the layers of the creamy, fluffy cake. I took the first bite.

"Mmm..." I moaned, "Penny why does this taste so good? Oh goddess." I hummed. She only blushed, stepping away.

Placing my fork on the side of the plate, I faced Lincoln and offered him some cake. He stared at me intently before picking up my fork and slicing it through the cake and tasting it. He nodded his head as he swallowed, my eyes darted to his Adam's apple. "That's really good." He looked at Penny and said, who looked ecstatic at her Alpha's compliment.

After I devoured the whole slice by myself, I bid farewell to Penny. Walking out the pack house, the black Jeep and the same guard stood.

"I told you not to follow me." I sounded like a rude brat right now. Maybe I'll apologize to the guard later.

"Luke you follow her wherever she goes, if she seems to have a problem with that mind link to me at once. I'll make sure I get there in minutes." He spoke in a domineering voice, which would make anyone obey.

"Yes Alpha." He nodded, rushing into the vehicle.

I stomped my way to my car not waiting for him to say anything.
