《Lost Without You (A werewolf romance)》16. Kai and Heera

Third Person POV
It was the first time Amelia was going to see Kai, the one wolf who has been known and feared all around the werewolf packs. His presence alone, would chase away any wickedness that lurks. His fur, pitch black as the night sky, eyes as sharp as blades. Whenever he took his wolf form, he was ready to kill, but tonight he was in pain of being tortured by the word rejection, he fought Lincoln's control and pranced out.
Kai dug his paws into the soil and let out a painful howl when he watched his mate, fall on the ground as she began to transform. She was letting her wolf out in defence. He didn't have a choice, because he knew she made up her mind to break the mate bond. He didn't want that to happen. Wolves were possessive in general, when it came to their mates they become extremely over protective. An alpha wolf wouldn't be an exception now, would it?
He was on the verge of snatching the girl from here, even if she was in human form and take her away from the rest of the world where there would be no one else but just them. Together and alone. He wanted her and only her, nothing comes close to it. He'd leave everything for her, his power, pack, family.
She stood on her fours, with the most scintillating greyish silver coat that shone under the moonlight. Heera was a small, slender wolf compared to Kai. He was enormous, ferocious and powerful.
He stood there watching his beautiful mate as if being caught in a spell. Heera shook herself before taking off into the woods. Kai hopelessly ran after her. Through the woods she moved swiftly gliding through the trees and avoiding the pretty flowers. While he trampled and destroyed everything that was in his way. Heera had realized human or wolf, he was a beast. She huffed every now and then, displaying her dislike. He grunted in response.
Kai jogged behind her tail, her movements made her tail accidentally touch his face. Heera turned around and tried to claw him, because he kept a close space. Her anger towards her mate was very evident. She crouched ready to attack, but he sat on his paws, wagging his tail. Like an excited dog.

Heera didn't know what she had to do, slowing her pace, she stopped by a small stream and quaffed the fresh water.
Kai raised his snout underneath her ear, she sprung up in caution, the fur on her spine standing up.
She bared her teeth, hoping to scare him off but to no avail. The black beast stood there unfazed. He playfully growled before pushing her down with his gigantic paws. Heera raised her paw and was about to claw his face, which he dodged pretty quickly. In a swift move, she rose up when he least expected it and took a few steps away from him. Kai on the other hand, had his perks of riling her up. He loved this feisty side of his mate. As Heera glared and growled at his actions, he simply followed her where ever she went. He had a feeling she liked the attention he was giving her but still denied it.
Kai hadn't once remembered himself being this cheerful. Whenever he took control it was always for a fight. Tonight was a night he'll never forget. He felt content being with Heera. Although she had been the grumpiest, it didn't matter he followed his mate like a lovesick lost puppy.
The wolves finally arrived to the residential area of the pack. Kai didn't hold back. He licked her face earning a growl in return. He was hurt, but didn't want to give up.
She bared her teeth while growling, asking him to back off. Heera threatened to lunge at his neck if he'd do anything else recklessly. What was her chance of surviving trying to fight an alpha? She had no idea but still, she'd try.
Her anger died in an instant when Kai bowed below her, revealing his neck to her. He backed down to his mate. He submitted himself to her. Giving her consent to even take his life if she wanted to without a fight.
Her eyes didn't flare anymore, they softened at the sight of her mighty mate, bowed down before her. Sadness filled her heart. Kai didn't make eye contact, he only looked down. She gave him a small bark, with sorrowful eyes. Pleading him to get up, to which he obeyed. His orbs displaying the same pain. He only watched but didn't follow her this time. She took a step away from Kai turning towards the houses. Her heart couldn't take it, she turned around and rubbed her nose on his for a brief second before running off.

Lincoln Hunters
"What?" I barked as Benjamin walked through the pack house office doors.
"The Silver Moon Pack members will be here soon. You might need to freshen up before meeting them Linc." He spoke but his eyes scrutinized my whole self. I wore a pair of sweatpants and a plain black T-shirt after arriving at the pack house last night.
"Anything else?" I asked as I gulped the last sip of alcohol in the glass.
"Umm Sarah told me you didn't..." Benjamin was cut off when Tyler and Matt came barging into the office.
"Good morning, Alpha you look..." Matt stopped mid sentence with loss for words.
"Like shit!" Tyler continued.
Did I look that bad? Last night definitely was tough for me but I only hoped I could cover it up.
"Did the girlfriend do something?" Matt whispered to Tyler. The two had a little tattle.
Sarah? I left her alone last night, I couldn't go see her. Something felt like it wouldn't let me do it. What am I to do? Let her go because I found my mate? Wouldn't that make me a sadistic bastard.
"Linc, I'm gonna make sure the guards are there to welcome the other pack. You... tidy up Alpha." Matt smiled before walking out.
"We need to talk soon Lincoln." Benjamin said before glancing at Tyler. "Alone." He nodded towards Tyler and myself before leaving the office.
Tyler walked close to my desk. He pulled something out of his pocket and placed it on the table.
A damaged watch. My watch, the very one I wore last night when I went to look for her.
The memories of last night ran through my head for the millionth time. She left the pack for two fucking nights to god knows where. Earlier that day she saw me with Sarah and then she was nowhere to be found. The hospital, the library, her house. She made me desperate in need of her. I felt so anxious without her presence. I snapped at everyone and mostly spent time at the pack house gym. Kai was on the edge, we were ready to pounce at anyone if they'd pushed my buttons.
The Silver Moon Pack offered to come under our wing, so that meant our pack was expanding. This was a big deal for my father and I, but none of it mattered. I was in search of my lost mate.
The desperation got the best of me when I walked into the library, to ask her father where she was. He seemed worried at my appearance and sudden questions about his daughter's disappearance. At this point I don't give fuck if anyone finds out. He only mentioned she had left to meet a university friend.
"A few bystanders had seen you drag Amelia away, including the station chief." He sighed, bringing me back to reality.
"What about it?"
"Linc, what the hell were you thinking? The last few days you've acted like a savage beast. The whole pack feared to come near you. And then a couple of people saw you drag the doctor through the railway station. Are you even thinking? Everyone will know!" Tyler finished.
"Have you forgotten you claim to have a girlfriend." He asked.
I stood there numb.
"Girlfriend... lover? Whatever she may be. Amelia comes nowhere close to you if you are going to have Sarah in the frame. You're hurting the both of them. Make up your fu- mind." With that he walked out the door.

The Demon’s Bride
Elise had about to change into the dress that was lying on the corner of her bed when she heard a knock lightly calling from her door. Curious, she turned the door knob only to have a tall man towering in front of her.«Master Ian!» She called.Ian smiled with the usual mischievous smirk that he always used. His crimson eyes trailing a little over her room and spotted the black dress over her bed and shifted his eyes over to the woman in front of him. He stepped forward and spoke. «Where did you acquire that dress?»«Mr. Harland gave it to me.» Elise replied and strained her neck to see Ian’s brows knitted in its elegance.«Do you know why a man would love to give a woman a dress?» He gave the riddle that she always had to think twice before replying. But this time, she found no answer and instead shook her head. «I don’t know.»His grin grew bewitching as though something had stirred deep inside the scarlet eyes that he had. He slowly slid his hand over the collar of her dress, sending a cold shiver that startled her for a moment due to its freezing temperature. After unbuttoning the first two buttons on her collar, he tilted his head down, whispering to her ears. «Because they want to be the one to undress the cloth.»He paused and kissed her neck, turning the pale skin to red before retracting his move to fix his eyes on her and leisurely replied. «Unfortunately, you can’t wear the dress over there with this.» He chuckled and passed a box over to her hand. «And the fortunate news is I prepared a dress for you.»
