After a well spent weekend with Selena and Connor, it was time to head back to my pack.

"Call me whenever okay?" Selena spoke as she held me tight.

"Of course!"

"I'm always here for you."

"I know, take care of yourself and baby." I hugged her one more time before getting on the train.

It was noon when I got into my train and I'll be home by dusk. Grabbing my book, If I never met you, by Mhairi Mcfarlene. I managed to finish it by the time I reached the pack.

Letting out a breath, I felt more relaxed as we neared the pack borders, it felt like a tension or a sense of turmoil was lifted from my shoulders.

Glancing outside the window, I was welcomed by the captivating mountains and fields. By sunset the sky shone a bright pink and orange. Our pack territories looked quiet and peaceful. Since my parents were catching up with a few friends tonight, I told them I'd take a cab home.

By the time, I grabbed my bag and got down the train, it was night time. As I stepped out of the railway station to call a taxi, there was no one available.

"Just great!" I mumbled.

A black car, parked on the very front of the parking lot's door opened and a person stepped out of it before slamming the door pretty harshly than necessary. I didn't have to focus on who it was since the scent was enough to recognize the certain individual.

My heart leapt to my throat at the sight of him, with a navy blue shirt and jet black pants. His sleeves rolled up to his elbows, showing off his tattoo and a costly Rolex on his wrist. A few buttons of his shirt undone, he looked like he's back from a business or pack meeting. His hair disarranged, still made him look striking.

"Snap out of it Mia! Why is he here?" Heera growled.

Shaking my head I got back to my senses, he may be here for various reasons. I looked around the parking lot in search of a cab. The few people around us murmured as the Alpha got closer and closer. Before I could comprehend what was happening, my wrist was secured inside a rough hand, that gave my body tingles and made my insides flutters.

"What- where are you taking me?" I asked Lincoln as he pulled me away from the others.

"What are you doing?" I tried to pull away, but to no avail. His grip was brawny. "Let me go!" His long legs dragged my shorter ones behind him. He led us into a path that was secluded.

"Ow Lincoln!" I raised my voice. "My hand hurts." His grip loosened. It was my chance to pull away my wrist. Immediately he cornered me to a wall. His eyes held rage and his jaw clenched, fisting his hands making his muscles tense. I hadn't seen such an angry wolf or human before. Heera was on the verge of coming out to my defence.

The hand he touched, I held it close to my chest. It didn't hurt anymore but I needed to cherish the contact our skins made. With furrowed eyebrows I looked at him for answers.

"Where the fuck have you been the last two days?" He growled, in a rough voice.

As he bent down to my level, I noticed his tired eyes, his stubble had grown into a short beard. He looked weary, as if he lacked sleep.

"Answer me!"

"It's none of your business." I snapped back.

"Answer my fucking question, now..." he stalked towards me, pushing me further into the wall. His nose above my forehead as I looked to the ground. His chest heaved up and down as if he tried to calmed his self. We stood there at a very close proximity.

"My friend." I swallowed, "I went to visit my friend." I needed to get over with his interrogation and go home.

"What made you think you can just leave like that?" His arms caging me while he looked at me.

"What made you think I'll need your permission to do so?" I replied.

He pulled me against him by my waist, "I'm your mate damn it!"

My body completely plastered on him. It felt like my body and brain weren't in sync anymore. My body reacted in a way and my brain said other things. Before I knew it, my palm landed on his cheek.

I slapped Lincoln Hunters, my Alpha. My mate.

I gasped and covered my mouth with my hand. With the effect of the blow, his face turned away from me. Now I was just waiting for him to break my bones or his wolf to take over and shred me to bits.

My hands still covered my mouth, I couldn't move in shock of my actions. His one hand still held me close and slowly the other rubbed his cheek that turned a slight tinge of pink.

His tensed muscles softened, "I... I'm sorry..." I whispered, tugging my hands to my chest.

"I deserved that, didn't I?" He asked while rubbing his cheek. I stood there dumbfounded. Wasn't he supposed to be fuming. He only let out a sigh.

"Where were you all these years, when I was looking everywhere for you mate?" He spoke again resting his forehead on mine as I looked up at him. He had his eyes closed, while voice sounded like he was in pain.

I shut my eyes forgetting all the hate I held against him. The physical contact, felt heavenly. For once I knew what it felt like to be held by my mate.

"You're weren't looking enough." I placed my hands on his chest and slightly pushed him away. He stepped back reluctantly, raking his hair.

I watched as he gritted his teeth again. "I wasn't looking enough?" He scoffed. "You left the pack, before I even knew it."

"You left the country, before I knew it!" I raised my voice. I remember dad telling me how Lincoln trained along borders of Canada at a very young age.

"I came back every year in hopes of finding you." He said.

"So did I! It's doesn't matter anymore." He stood there quietly. "I've been thinking since..." I took a breath, "how about one of us rejects the other? I'd accept it. We could live our lives the way we want." My heart felt immense pain as I spoke. It'll be shattered when he rejects me, but it had to be done.

"One more word Amelia! One more fucking word and I don't know what'll Kai or I do!" He growled, his whole physique shaking in anger. "You have no idea what I want..." his nostrils flared.

"You made it very clear about what you want!" And that is not me! Never will be.

"Goodbye Alpha!"

"What did you want me to do when I couldn't find you?" He spoke, the tension between us rose. Lincoln began striding back and forth.

"I thought you'd wait for me, but instead..." I didn't want to mention her name. "You settled for another. And you know what, that's okay with me." Lies lies lies.

"Amelia stop talking right now!" He growled.

"I wanna get out of it, I can't do this." I kept going, paying no heed to his words.

The next thing I hear, bones cracking with heavy breaths and grunts.

"Heera? I need you..."
