《smoke with me? (girlxgirl)》chapter 7.

The first time I actually saw Ashlyn in her own clothes was the first time I saw her at the skatepark, because at school we have to wear our uniforms. I always had an image in my head of what Ashlyn's clothing style could be, and I guess I was kind of right. It makes me very envious of her, wishing I had such a cool clothing style as well. The times I've seen her at the skatepark she was always wearing a skirt with high knee socks. Either an oversized shirt as top or a crop top with a leather jacket over it. She always wears vans. The old school ones. I love vans as well. She also has some tattoos on her arms and one on her collarbone. I noticed the tattoo on her collarbone, the first night I saw her at the skatepark. With these thoughts I drift to sleep.

I step into the classroom, where I see some students already seated talking with their friends, waiting for our class to begin. As I walk to my seat I notice that Ashlyn is actually on time for once. Which surprises me. Because she is never on time. And when I say never, I mean never. I notice I stopped walking and was staring at Ashlyn. She luckily didn't catch me staring or she'll really think I'm a stalker. She was looking out of the window the whole time with her headphones on, which is probably why she didn't hear me coming in. I go for a seat in the back, since I don't really feel like sitting in the front today. It takes a few more minutes for the class to fill up with more students. This class is way too loud this early in the morning. That's when the teacher steps in, and the bell rings.

"Miss Green please take your headphones off." The teacher says as soon as she starts our first class of the day. I look at Ashlyn and notice she isn't making a move, which either means she didn't hear the teacher or because she just simply doesn't care. "Miss Green." our teacher says a little more irritated now. Still nothing. Why is nobody letting her know that the teacher is talking to her. It annoys me, there are literally people around her who could let her know, but they are not even bothering. Since my seat is pretty close to hers, I decide to stand up and let her know myself. I tap my hand on her shoulder. She looks at me and takes off her headphones with a curious face, wondering what I have to say. "The teachers talking to you." I softly say before walking back to my seat. "Thank you, Miss Jones. Now Miss Green, could you please put your headphones away." "Why?" is all Ashlyn says back. "Because I'm asking you." the teacher says very irritated now. Ashlyn huffs and throws her headphones on her table. "Happy now?" "Thank you for finally listening Miss Green." She sends a fake smile to her student and continues her class.

The class ends and I stand up to walk to the door when I hear my name being called out by a voice I know all too well, Ashlyn. She has never talked to me in class. I turn around and she mouths a 'thank you' my way. I send her a small smile back to let her know it's no big deal. I turn around and leave the classroom.

I make my way home, while listening to The Neighbourhood again. As I do every single day. When I open the door, I notice my dad isn't home. "Perfect." I say to myself, planning to play my guitar.

I'm now trying to learn nervous by the Neighbourhood on my guitar. This is my favourite song by them. I quickly stop when I hear the front door. I jump up from the floor and immediately put back the guitar in the corner of my room, hoping he didn't hear me.

Turns out my dad didn't hear me play, which is very good. I'm now laying in bed and I can't sleep again. But what's new right. I decide to do what I've been doing for the past couple of nights, but this time I decide to take my guitar with me, so I can play guitar without having to worry about getting caught. I get out of bed and put on a comfortable hoodie, and my favourite pair of wide jeans. I put my hair in a tiny ponytail, and let the hairs that don't fit in there hang loose. My hair is cut in a bob, so it's pretty short and not all the hairs fit in a ponytail. I go to my closet to see if I can find the case of my guitar that I haven't used in a very long time.

After searching for a couple of minutes, I finally find it laying under a pile of clothes. I take it out and put my guitar in the case and wear it comfortably around my shoulders.

Arriving at the skatepark, I see it's empty. Which surprises me, since every time I've been here, she was also here. I can't even imagine this skatepark without Ashlyn in it. I proceed to walk my way into the skatepark and make myself comfortable by sitting down on the cold floor and taking the guitar out of its case. I shove the case aside and put the guitar on my lap. And begin by playing some songs that I'm familiar with.

I'm getting more and more comfortable with playing nervous when a familiar voice speaks from behind. "Love this song." I jump a little and look behind me. "God, you scared the shit out of me Ashlyn." Ashlyn laughs and sits beside me on her skateboard. "Go on." she motions to my guitar. And I start the play the same song again.

The song now coming to an end, Ashlyn starts clapping. "I didn't know you were this good at playing guitar." she says a little shocked. "There's a lot you don't know about me." I respond with a smirk. I have no idea where that confidence just came from, but I'm not complaining. I hear Ashlyn grin while I put my guitar back in its case. "So you like The Neighbourhood?" I hear her ask. "Obviously, it's my favourite band." I answer. "Interesting, same here." she smiles. "It's also your favourite band?" "Yes." she says still smiling. "Cool." I smile back. And again she's moving on her skateboard, gesturing for me to sit on the other half. And ofcourse I won't reject, it's better than sitting on this cold ground.

"So mind if I put some music on?" she asks after some time. "Sure." She clicks something on her phone when I hear the familiar tune of the song Sweater Weather. I see her grab her bag and search through it. "Is your bag such a mess?" I ask her since she also had to search a long time for the nail polish the other day. She grins, "It's not that messy." But because of the tone she used saying that, I know she's lying. Which makes me laugh a little. When she finally finds what she was looking for, she opens the package of cigarettes and takes one out of it. She looks at me while lighting it, "Do you finally wanna smoke with me?"
