《The Alpha's Rose.》I Wish I Knew the Answer

----------Rose's POV--------------

"Ruler? I'm sorry but are you trying to say Michaelangelo is the heir to Ganandor?"

I asked.

Max took a swig of his wine and sighed as he set the glass back on the coaster.

"Well-"

Before Max could get any words out Michaelangelo cleared his throat.

"I don't think she needs to hear any more of this, c'mon Max you must be tired I'll set up the guest room for you."

He said as he laughed nervously and walked into the back of the house.

"Please...tell me."

I whispered.

Max sighed and poured himself another glass.

"Meet me at the lake behind the house tonight, I'll explain everything."

I could only nod and watch as he poured himself glass after glass. He had consumed a whole bottle of wine and didn't show any signs of being tipsy at all.

Maybe he was an elf, they had the best toleration for alcohol.

I shrugged and nodded as an indication that I was off to bed, he raised his glass in response.

"Michaelangelo, I'm ready for bed-"

I stopped short when my eyes caught sight of the beads of water trailing down his chest, tracing his six pack and dipping into the V of his hips.

I looked anywhere in the room but at my beautifully sculpted mate.

"Sorry."

He mumbled but I could hear the smile in his voice, I cleared my throat and started again.

"Um..I'm ready for bed but...I uh don't have anything to wear."

I spoke.

He smiled as he pulled on his boxers before walking over to the dressers and pulling out a T-shirt and handing it to me.

"Here, this should fit."

I took it without question and padded over to the bathroom.

There was a large symbol on the shirt accompanied by a black metal band's name, nevertheless I slipped it on. It reached a little bit past my butt.

I sighed and brushed my hair with Michaelangelo's comb before walking out of the bathroom.

He was lying in bed, flipping through various channels trying to find something to watch.

I jumped in bed and lay next to him hearing his chuckle as I pulled the covers up to my shoulders and curled up to Michaelangelo's side.

"Are you tired?"

I asked, as he settled on X-Men.

"A little but I thought maybe you'd want to watch TV."

"It's alright, if you want to watch a movie I'll watch it with you."

He smiled down at me and kissed my forehead.

"It's alright, you can sleep if you want...I'll probably doze off soon too."

I smiled back at him and wrapped my arms around his torso.

When Michaelangelo's breathing evened out I climbed from the bed, my toes hitting the cold hardwood floor.

Part of me felt guilty for leaving in the middle of the night with his friend, to get some answers.

I quietly crept around Michaelangelo's side and kissed his cheek before tip toeing out of the room and setting foot on the cold dewy grass.

"Max...Max where are you?"

I whispered.

A twig snapped behind me and I whipped around to face him.

"What are you doing out here so late?"

My eyes widened as Michaelangelo walked closer to me, he had a shirt on this time unlike when we had gone to bed.

"I uh...was just taking a wa-"

Max appeared slowly behind Michaelangelo, stopping me mid-sentence.

"She needs to know Mike...you have to tell her."

Max spoke as Michaelangelo turned around.

"I don't have to do anything."

Surprisingly, my mate's voice was laced with anger and malice.

"She's going to find out sooner or later, you have to go back soon. Things are getting out of hand...your parents can no longer rule."

I was now completely lost, as the last three words came out of Max's mouth.

"Wait! Please...someone please explain to me what is going on!"

I said between shivers.

Max sighed and took off his white robe, wrapping it around my shoulders and tying it around my neck.

The silky material soft against my fingertips, covering my entire body down to my feet.

"It's now or never Mike."

Max said as he turned to my mate.

"I...alright."

Michaelangelo sighed as he rushed inside the house and came back out with a cloak similar to Max's except in black and gold.

"Open the portal...we're going home."

"Portal? What the-"

One second we were in the backyard and the next we were standing in front of one of the most beautiful places I had ever seen.

Tree vines looped in and out of the intricately designed glass palace and a river ran under a bridge of teal colored tiles.

"Where are we?" I asked.

Michaelangelo took my hand and walked me into the palace ignoring my question.

"Michaelangelo. Tell me where we're going!" I demanded.

Again I was ignored.

We stopped in front of two wooden doors, beautiful designs on each of the tall oak doors.

"Don't ask questions yet...I'll explain later. I promise."

He said as he kissed my hand and walked into the room.

The room certainly didn't do the rest of the palace justice, while the palace was something you only read about in fairy tale stories...the room was dark and felt like a horror story waiting to happen.

"Come with me."

Michaelangelo whispered as he towed me towards the bed where a man was resting.

I was too busy judging the room I hadn't even noticed there were others present.

I blushed a deep scarlet and looked down at my feet as my mate steered me towards the bed where he let my hand drop.

"Father."

He walked over to the man's side and grabbed his hand.

Father?

This was where Michaelangelo grew up?

"My son...you've returned, who is this?"

The old man asked as he looked over to me,

"My name is Rose...I'm Mike's mate."

I said.

"Mate? Michael I thought I had raised you better...come dear sit."

A woman who I presumed was his mother said as she patted the spot next to her.

"How long ago did you two meet?"

She asked me, I sighed and counted the days in my head.

"We met at my pack's annual ball a little more than 3 weeks ago."

She smiled and cupped my cheek.

"I can tell you're going to make a wonderful queen."

Queen? Surely she wasn't talking about me.

"Uh..."

Michaelangelo cleared his throat and I looked over to him, he gestured for me to go and sit next to him.

As I as about to sit on the chair next to him he pulled me onto his lap and I sighed feeling self conscious about being in a shirt and robe.

"So the people I met at your house?" I questioned quietly.

"They're real, I use their pack as a decoy." He nodded.

"Who are they?" I asked.

"They're a pack that conceals the portal we use to go back and forth to Ganandor. I'm not their Alpha, just their prince."

I shook my head, trying to process everything.

Where was Max? Before I could ask, Max came running through the doors.

"Forgive me for intruding your majesties but...another raid is happening in the North Villages."

My head whipped around to Michaelangelo who kept his face neutral.

"Let's discuss this outside." Michaelangelo said as he stood and brought me into the hallway.

"We've gotten more and more calls to aid from the North than ever before in the last three months. We're going out there now but the last time someone was out there it didn't end well."

"Take me, I want to see." Michaelangelo said before looking to me and opening his mouth.

"Oh no, you're not leaving me here in a creepy dimly lit room and your parents 2.0. I'm coming with you." I crossed my arms over my chest and he chuckled.

"I was going to say we need to get you some new clothes."

He said as he handed me a thin dress with sleeves and a warm cloak along with a pair of riding shoes.

"Where did you get these?" I asked.

Max intervened, "I stole it."

I walked into the nearest bathroom and changed as fast as I could.

I walked out and immediately was pulled into Michaelangelo's side.

"Ready to go? We've got the horses ready. Can you ride?" He asked.

"Yes I can, Jack had me training and I've ridden on horses before." I nodded.

I mounted a horse Max had provided for me.

"Let's go."

We approached the village slowly, it was drizzling slightly, putting the monsterous flames that covered the village out.

We dismounted and continued on foot, Max handed me a small dagger which I kept close to me. Michaelangelo stayed near me, watching out for anything suspicious.

Max covered his nose because of the foul stench of flesh but I walked on. There was a small house, slowly it's flames were extinguishing but a good amount of it was still on fire and a voice inside called out.

"Help! Please I'm stuck!"

Without thinking I ran towards the house.

"Please! Someone!"

I followed their voice until I found him.

A woman's arms wrapped around him in a tight grip, dead. Blood flowing down her temple...tomahawked.

I reached out for him.

"Who are you?"

He asked as he coughed through the smoke.

I didn't answer but instead grabbed him from her arms and ran out of the house.

Once again in the clutches of safety I took off the winter cloak and wrapped it around the little boy's figure.

"Are you an angel?"

He questioned.

I shook my head but still didn't answer.

Something had to be done about this and soon, otherwise this kingdom was going to die as Max said.

I placed him on the horse first and climbed on after.

"Where are we taking the little man?"

Max asked, I looked down and smoothed his golden curls.

"The palace." Michaelangelo answered as they mounted their horses.

Max nodded and led the way.

"Who is she?"

"She came from the northern villages."

"Everyone there died."

All these whispers I heard as I entered the kingdom.

"Wow..."

The little boy's voice registered in my head as I was pulled away from the whispers of the people.

"What's wrong?" I asked.

He shook his head, making his curls shake.

"Nothing ma'am it's just...I've never been to the kingdom before."

"This boy needs a hot bath, food and anything else he desires." Michaelangelo told one of the maids as they approached us.

She nodded and took the boy from me, he looked back and I gave him a reassuring nod telling him he would be safe.

"Now we have to go see the bosses."

Michaelangelo mumbled as we entered his father's room again.

"My dear, I know you mean well but you could have been killed without an escort."

Michaelangelo's mother said.

"I had an escort....Max took me."

I didn't know where this sense of confidence was coming from but I did like it.

She looked back to me.

"What is it that you saw?"

I sat down.

"The village was destroyed, fires took the houses, fences and the chapel. The men were piled up and burned, the children were killed and any woman who refused to leave was killed along with her children. Any others were taken captive by the Abaddon's, they're being used as toys, slaves and some are warriors now."

Everyone gaped at me.

"You...you saw all of that?"

I shook my head, I don't know how the hell I knew all of that.

"Mother...Rose is no ordinary Werewolf. She's well, she's a half witch. The one who was born years ago."

I waited for her to laugh, call me a freak and tell me to get out of the palace but instead she embraced me.

"I've waited for this day since my boy was born."

I shook my head in surprise.

"What?"

I asked as she pulled away.

"When Michaelangelo was born a woman came to us, she looked withered and we didn't think much of her. So we offered her shelter and food, the next day she came to us and told us she would grant us one wish."

She looked over to my mate.

"We refused, so instead she gave us good fortune, telling us that one day my son would marry someone of great importance. She said that you would help restore this kingdom and create peace throughout the land."

She smiled as she cupped both of my hands in hers and I tried to mask the shock on my face.

"That's...odd." Was all I could say. I mean it was, this whole scenario was straight from a science fiction novel.

"And the boy? What's his story?"

Michaelangelo's father questioned suddenly.

"I rescued him from his burning house...his mother was wrapped around him, dead."

I replied.

It was horrible now that I thought about it. He had lost his entire family, his mother.

I couldn't imagine what kind of hell he would have to go through his entire life.

"He'll be alright, we'll make sure that he'll be in the best care...he'll be ok."

Michaelangelo wrapped his arms around my waist.

I nodded and sighed...It'd been a long day.

"Let's go back home, we have some things to sort out."

Michaelangelo sighed and held me closer.

Max emerged from the doorway just then and nodded to me.

"The boy...Tyler I believe insists on seeing you."

He spoke to me.

What did he want to see me for?

"Well, bring him here then."

I replied.

We waited near the entrance before Tyler came running down the stairs.

"I heard you were leaving milady, I just wanted to thank you."

Tyler spoke to his shoes and I lifted his chin with my hand.

"Don't think I won't give you that tour of the palace young man, I'll ask Mike if we can come back next week."

He smiled and nodded before hugging me and running off.

I turned around, ready to ask my mate to bring me back when Michaelangelo's lips caught mine in a beautiful and passionate kiss that had my stomach turning in a fluttering way.

"You really need to stop calling me Mike."

He breathed as he pulled away.

"Stop keeping things from me and I just might think about it."

I replied.

He sighed and rubbed the back of his neck.

"I reckon there are some things you want to talk about."

"You have no idea."

YAY!!! Ok, you got what you wanted! I'm pretty pleased with this chapter, but there are some annoying things. I hope you enjoyed and thanks for reading!
