《The Queen's everything gxg》Chapter 37

Aerilyn spent most of her day in her room, Eli came in to see how she was doing and invited her for dinner. He stood against the door frame "you'll see Lyn, it's not so bad here, I think you'll be assigned to foraging, I did tell them you were great with plants, there is a group that goes out everyday" he tried to really sell it to her, he thought that he was doing his best but he had lost his way in doing so.

He had spent too long at the camp isolated away to realise what was going on.

Aerilyn followed behind him to dinner, still feeling uncomfortable and out of place.

They walked into the room where dinner was served, again it was beans and rice just like what she had in the afternoon, what a surprise. Aerilyn barely ate it, she just moved it around her plate.

People were talking this time which was nice for her to see but they were still hushed murmurs and she couldn't shake the feeling that she was not suppose to be here. "what are the rules here?" Aerilyn found herself asking, she had observed enough to realise there were rules and they were strict by the looks of it.

Eli stopped for a second but carried on eating "to do what is asked of us, to help out, not fraternize with the enemy or leave camp without permission" so far it had seemed pretty strict and these rules only confirmed that.

"ohh" Aerilyn mumbled. "what happens if you don't follow them?" she asked another question.

Eli looked at her funnily then shook his head "you don't need to worry about that" he replied. Something about Eli was different and she could not put her finger on it. Another person walked through the doors and the place went very quiet, she turned around to see who it was.

It was her aunt.

Aerilyn began to wonder if Evelyn had actually run away not voluntarily left, after all it required permission to leave, she also wondered if Saryn was enforcing these rules religiously as well, he had never been like that before.

They finished eating or so Eli did as Aerilyn had barely ate anything, she went to put their food over in the bins when her Aunt approached them, eyeing up Aerilyn's uneaten dinner. "is the food here not up to the standards of the food in the leech's palace?" it was more of a rhetorical question than anything.

Aerilyn stared back at her aunt, she hadn't said it in a very nice manner and so Aerilyn decided to just let it go, there was no point getting into it, she was mentally and physically exhausted and unsure how much more she could take."we have to be back in our rooms for lights out at 9" He spoke quietly.

Aerilyn ignored her Aunt and followed Eli out, "Why so early?" she asked but he just shrugged his shoulders.

Aerilyn decided to get some fresh air and take a walk after he had gone to bed, she was tired but still alert.

"psst" she heard from another cabin, she walked over carefully to have a look, not wanting to be seen. Someone grabbed her and pulled her inside quickly as she tried not to yelp.

A sigh of relief escaped her, it was Saryn.

Saryn knew Aerilyn was struggling, "Sorry about that" he rubbed his forehead.

The human girl had an outburst, "what's happened to my brother?" she demanded to know.

"what do you mean?" Saryn played dumb, he wanted to see what she knew or how observant she was.

"he's not the brother I once knew, hes changed" Saryn nodded his head because he agreed and knew what had happened.

Saryn looked around paranoid as if someone was listening, before whispering, "She's got him wrapped around her fingers, just be careful here, things are not what they seem okay, you better go back before anyone notices" he ushers her out the door.

Just as Aerilyn reaches her door Yvonne rounds the corner and speaks "where have you been?" she rudely asked, not like it was her business.

Aerilyn sighed. "Just for a walk and some fresh air"

Yvonne stares her down for a moment "get to bed, you need to be at the gates for 6 in the morning, that's where the foragers meet" Aerilyn nodded and got into bed. This woman was suppose to be her aunt but she was colder than ice, how she was her mother's sister was beyond her.

Aerilyn had barely anything to unpack in her room, she left most of it in her bag, it wasn't a very homely room, not that she expected it.

That night she cried herself to sleep and dreamt of Solenne as much as it hurt to, in her dreams they were happy, so sleep is where she found peace now.

Nilsa and Zenon wasted no time once Nilsa convinced the alpha to stay in her room with her, they couldn't keep their hands off each other, although Zenon was the alpha, Nilsa was in charge.

Solenne was on her balcony once again alone, she couldn't sleep in her bed, what smell of Aerilyn was left was now beginning to fade. That insatiable smell. She couldn't live without her, she had to get her back.

And so for the next week Aerilyn slept and worked, barely eating much and not having much to live for, she felt like she was in her darkest slumber and her next plan was to escape, leave alone and never come back. It was not a family like she had been told and if this was their version of family she didn't want it.

She thought her best bet was to get away down south as far as she could go and live off the land some where. How could she leave her brother though or do it alone, these questions encircled her.

She had managed to find a few books one being a Latin translation book which had been hidden at the back of their make shift library, somehow looking at it made her feel closer to Solenne as bad as that sounded.

Her only joy was going out foraging as it offered her a glimpse of freedom even though she was watched by the others but also reading through the Latin book and learning the phrases.

It was half way through her second week when one night she rounded the corner and heard hushed tones, she walked closer creeping around in the dark as she had been for the past few nights trying to figure out a way to escape. "I forgot to say how well you did convincing Prince Louis to project those thoughts into your sisters mind, I bet the Queen is going mad now we have her here" it was Yvonne.

Yvonne had not got any nicer, she made horrible remarks to her regarding her clothes, hair and what lack of food she was eating.

Aerilyn tried to see who the other person was.

"well I didn't want her anywhere near that leech, they didn't want her there and we wanted her back here, sounded like a win win" she heard a boy speak. That was not any boy it was her brother as she saw him turn around. She ducked fast.

Yvonne pressed, using her brother for information and leverage, "do you think she will come for her?" Yvonne wanted to kill Solenne, they had met before a couple of years back when fighting, Solenne had witnessed her kill her own kind just to escape, by pouring blood out of her own it meant the vampires lost control allowing her to escape.

"No, she let her go" Eli spoke.

"just keep a close eye on her" Yvonne spoke.

Someone placed their hand over Aerilyn's mouth and pulled her backwards slowly. "shh, it's Tri", once they were out of distance she turned around and pulled Tri into a big hug.

"are you okay?" Aerilyn asks.

"Yes, lets speak out of sight, its too dangerous here" Tri led her off to the edge of the fence, she looked around checking the coast was clear and picked the fence up for them to crawl under. Aerilyn was gobsmacked there was a way out.

They walked a few metres into the woods before stopping and checking it was still clear.

"no one knows about that fence right?" Aerilyn was shocked as she wrapped her arms around herself protectively.

Tri sat down to talk, gesturing Aerilyn to as well. "only a couple of people" Tri confirmed.

She hadn't really seen Tri since she had arrived, she guessed that she was on other duties. "why have you brought me out here?" she asked.

"I know you can tell something is up here, I couldn't stand to see it anymore, I tried to intervene the other day but its risky and so when I saw you creeping around i knew it was the perfect opportunity" Tri smiled sadly.

"sooo..." Aerilyn waited, almost as impatiently as Solenne, maybe she had brushed off on her after all.

"Your evil aunt.. sorry let me rephrase that, Yvonne had brained washed your brother, she has literally taken over this camp, there are other camps but she is not in charge of them. Everyone hates it here and we think she has an ulterior motive having you here"

"wait who is we?" Aerilyn paced.

"I can't say, but there is a mole working for the Queen here, I know that much" Aerilyn had heard there had been mole, but wasn't sure it was strictly true.

"They lied to me, my own brother set it up so that I would leave" Aerilyn was in disbelief.

"I know, look we best get back before they notice we are missing, don't use this fence unless its an emergency" as they crawled back through. They both then went to bed.

Solenne had decided she was going to meet with the mole herself, she couldn't feel the mate bond very well since they hadn't shared blood or been marked, she needed to know that Aerilyn was okay, everything was taking too long and she just wanted her back already in her arms.

It was dawn when they decided to meet at first light in the woods, Solenne went alone which was risky on her part but then she was the most powerful creature in the woods.

A hooded figure sat perched on a rock as Solenne approached quietly, they did not know she was there. "Lower your hood" she commanded.

"it's best you do not know of my identity" so it was a man.

Her power immense. "that is of no consequence, I need to see who I am speaking to" she stood her ground.

"Does your intuition not working when my hood is up, must be pretty important if you came down here yourself" he spoke. He then stood up and lowered his hood. Solenne was not surprised he was older and aged, he had to be with double crossing his own kind, that came with experience.

He looked at her, surveying her and she the same to him. She frowned. "You were brought in with her" she mumbled.

He managed to catch what she was saying, he could tell she was troubled. "she is safe...for now"

Solenne looked back up at him and stepped closer. "I need to know what you know especially about Yvonne"

He grimaced at that name.

"She's their aunt, she brainwashed Aerilyn's brother, she killed their parents" he began to wept.

Solenne's eyes went wide, she would kill this woman if Aerilyn asked her too.

"how do you know this?" Solenne enquired, just because he said its true doesn't mean it is.

"She told me so, Yvonne has taken over the camp, everyone is miserable and wants to leave"

"we are working on that, we have an alliance with the wolves" Saryn was shocked by Solenne's admission.

"How?" he questioned.

"One of my guards, Aerilyn's close friend, is mated to the alpha, the mate bond is a strong thing, there is a change in the wind" Solenne was hopeful.

Saryn nodded "Aye, there is changing coming" he advised having learnt the news.

"do you think you could get Aerilyn out?" she knew she was asking a lot but she had to try.

"I could, but what about the rest of us?" he did not want to leave everyone high and dry.

Solenne paced up and down, "We have a settlement near the castle to house everyone, I just have to re write the rules of my kind first before" doing this would be a hard task, something out of her comfort zone.

Saryn was unsure about it all, truth be told he hadn't thought this far ahead, but he was use to life running that way. "how do you know they will agree to it, they only see us as blood bags"

"They will, most of us are liberal beings" Solenne knew her kind would be fine and even better if they had a more substantial source of food.

"And you want our blood in return don't you" He was smart she would give him that.

Solenne had thought long and hard about it, after all it was their life source. "Donated blood, if you wish to would be much appreciated, but nothing more" she rubbed her temples as rain began to pour.

"Can you do something for me?" she knew she was asking a lot and was still unsure she could trust him.

He didn't speak, he waited for her too, he now knew she was not a bad person or Queen for that matter, she was not like her father.

"Please tell Aerilyn that someone projected that vision into her head and that I am coming for her" Saryn didn't need to say anymore, he knew how much she cared for Aerilyn and who was he to break that up. He nodded as he watched her turn around and disappear into the woods.

By time he got back it was light as he snuck in, Aerilyn was making her way towards the foraging group when she saw him sneaking back in through the fence. She quickly followed him to see what he was up to as he made his way into his cabin. Her legs followed him inside.

"I saw you, you used the fence" she accused him. He could do nothing but admit to it.

"I know, I need to tell you something...I met with Queen Solenne" he whispered in hushed voices.

Aerilyn who had felt dead inside had now come to life at the mention of her name, she hadn't heard that name in almost two weeks. "she said to tell you that someone projected that vision into your head, not sure what that means but she also said to say that she's coming for you" Aerilyn hugged Saryn straight away, she soon realised as she took a step back.

"You're the mole" he meekly nodded as she stated it.

Aerilyn felt so happy that Solenne even still spared her a thought. "you better go, I will see you later" he smiled.

Solenne went to find Nilsa immediately but instead walked in on her getting rather intimate with Zenon. "I'll come back later" she spoke as she had interrupted them. They both turned red as the Queen of Vampires stood there not knowing where to look.

"Just wait outside I will be there" Nilsa proposed as she quickly found a robe to cover herself.

Solenne leant against the wall, her mind never leaving Aerilyn's even as the door opened and Nilsa stepped out, she had to click her fingers in front of the Queen's face, something she never thought she would have to do. "Managed to convince her to stay then" Solenne smirked.

"That's the mate bond for you" Nilsa laughed.

Solenne thought about her bond for a minute and how hard it had been to break the walls down between her and Aerilyn. "I met with the mole, but he was someone who came in with Aerilyn, an older man"

Nilsa racked her brain for a second before remembering. "His name is Saryn, they were travelling together before they were caught...what's the next plan of action?" she asked.

"We re write the rules of our kind, I will hold a gathering to tell everyone" Solenne knew this would be hard but worth it to have Aerilyn back in her arms.
