They all looked at each other as they realised this just became a whole lot more complex.

"She's in another building, I think she helps with the horses and some other duties" Pax gestured, he looked away frowning, as if he knew something.

They sat and talked some more about what they had been doing and none of them could believe the way Aerilyn had been treated by the Queen. It was not normal for a vampire not to feed off of their slave

The others were okay and treated well for the most part, especially Eamon, it turned out Luanna didn't like to drink from him and made sure he was okay, every time she needed blood.

Mostly they talked about how they missed their families and wanted their freedom back regardless of whether they were being treated okay or not.

Aerilyn still felt anger towards Queen Solenne, it wasn't two minutes ago that she had her arms around her neck, then all of a sudden she had taken her for a horse ride.

And now after her time spent there she finds out her best friend is also there, she felt as though the anger was building up and around her, spiralling out of control.

It would almost be better if Solenne did drink her dry for it to be over with.

The doors burst open as it neared night time, they had been reading their books and playing old games like scrabble.

"Where is the little bitch?" they heard as the doors burst open. There was Tessa who looked like she wanted to drink everyone dry. Tessa stormed into the room.

She was on a mission and nobody was going to stop her.

Tessa's eyes locked straight onto the human girl that she had been looking for who gulped immediately, this wasn't good.

"Here she is, the little runt that is taking what's mine away from me" she appeared in front of Aerilyn in a flash, grabbing her already sore neck and pressing her collar into it further.

Solenne was already on her way back when she felt the bond of the two, the nervousness and fear of the girl, their bond was faint, but it was enough to know...she knew something was wrong.

She decided to go by foot as she knew she would be back faster, she had a vision of Tessa with her hands around Aerilyn's throat.

No amount of time or years could have prepared the Queen for this, for the emotions that would be stirred within her, even at the sight of an old friend doing this to the girl. "I have no idea what she see's in you, you reek of fear, how off putting, what is your hold on my beloved?" she loosened her grip on the girls neck to allow her to speak.

"you are welcome to her" Aerilyn spat word by word.

To Aerilyn nobody was worth this much jealousy, she didn't understand what the vampires problem was, the Queen wasn't remotely interested in her, only the blood that runs through her veins.

The thought itself made her heart involuntarily pang.

"that's the point, she won't come near me because of your pathetic self" Tessa looked as if she was about to blow. Her eyes narrowed, her hands tightened and she pursed her lips.

"As if" Aerilyn wanted to laugh, the Queen wasn't interested in her that way.

The vampire slapped the girl hard and grabbed her throat again before throwing her across the room like a rag doll.

To Tessa, the girl was mocking her, but it was true Solenne wouldn't go near her or be around her alone since the human arrived.

Aerilyn's cheek became red and puffy as tears fell down her face, she tried to remain strong but she looked like a weak human compared to the vampire.

Tessa was not in the mood and was ready to strike the girl again, she snarled at her producing her fangs.

Luanna appeared in the door way, having stayed behind to keep an eye on things, she was the more powerful out of her and Tessa, "you have no claim on the Queen, she isn't even your mate"

Eamon wrapped his arm around Aerilyn protectively as she touched her cheek, that would most likely bruise.

Tessa stepped forward, as if to challenge the vampire "that is none of your concern Luanna, as she has no mate, I am more than entitled, we were to marry" Tessa spoke defiantly, which caused Luanna to frown.

Tessa was trying to hold onto any fantasy that meant the pair would be together, she enjoyed the power that came along with being with Solenne. "Her majesty would never marry you, you were a good lay nothing more, don't forget your place" Luanna had never liked the girl, she walked around as if she owned the place.

The vampire had grown too big for her boots and needed sorting before she got out of hand.

A gust of wind came bursting through the room, which could only mean one thing.

As the vampire was too fast, Aerilyn had to blink before seeing the Queen arrive.

"WHAT IS THE MEANING OF THIS" Solenne was back, part of Aerilyn relaxed because she felt safer with her here, she hadn't acknowledged the girl yet, but seeing her stood here ignited a flame inside her.

Aerilyn felt a warm fuzzy feeling.

She pushed that feeling aside.

Luana pointed at Tessa "Tessa needs to leave, she attacked Aerilyn as I am sure you already know"

A few guards came in with Solenne and were ready to apprehend Tessa, she had backed down significantly now the Queen was here.

"My love" Tessa approached the Queen.

Tessa stalked Solenne "You are letting this human get in the way of us" as she moved in closer, trying to touch her.

Solenne dismissed her actions and spoke "she is, the guards are packing her things up as we speak, she will leave first thing in the morning" which caused Luanna to smirk and Tessa to throw the biggest tantrum you would ever see a vampire have.

This caused the vampire to snap "WHAT!? You pick that blood whore over there over your own kind, wait till everyone hears about this" she shouted, getting in the Queen's face.

"you really have lost it Tessa" Luanna spoke sharply, shaking her head.

Queen Solenne stepped forward, her power could cause the Earth to shake, when she asserts her dominance you would know about it. Her eyes become sharp and poised, her back straightens and her whole demeanour changes. "If you carry on this will turn ugly and out of respect for the years I have known you, I ask that you will go quietly and stop with this" Solenne's face was hard as she stalked up to Tessa who had now backed away.

It was a game of cat and mouse.

Except the Queen always won.

She was taking no prisoners and wasn't messing around, she just wanted to relax in her room after the day she had, not be dealing with this drama.

"You know the rules of slaves here Tessa and you have crossed the line, others would not be so kind to your mishap" Solenne tried to speak calmly, but she couldn't help but want to rip the vampires head off for what she had done.

It was custom that if the royalties pets were harmed the person who harmed them would face punishment, maybe even death.

In the vampire world, you could not touch or lay your hands on someone else's property, it was a lack of disrespect and forbidden.

"This isn't over" Tessa finally stormed out of the room leaving everyone to relax slightly. Tessa knew she could not harm Aerilyn and would have to leave for the time being otherwise she could be sent to the dungeon and sentenced.

Solenne eventually locked eyes with Aerilyn and noticed Eamon with his arm around Aerilyn.

The Queen growled going to grab him ready to kill the poor boy, Aerilyn had noticed the growl and realised what was happening.

"please no, no don't hurt him" The Queen stops at the command of Aerilyn and lets him go, pausing to evaluate the situation "do you like him?" the Queen asked looking between the two.

"Take them back to their rooms" the guards quickly took the others out.

Such a weird question the girl thought. "no it's not like that, he's just a friend" she pleaded with her.

"Because you like Nilsa?" the Queen growled.

Aerilyn tilted her head, why did it bother the Queen who she liked. "what? No! She betrayed me, my bestfriend was captured by you and she didn't tell me" she shook her head, the Queen visibly relaxed but stiffened at the mention of her friend.

She had captured the girl who was asking after Aerilyn by name, once she realised who she was she knew she could not harm her.

Solenne merely kept her out of the way in a different house with nice duties, she had been meaning to tell the girl but their relationship hadn't progressed in the way that she felt ready too.

Solenne walked up to the windows and stared at the world outside "Nilsa didn't know, your friend asked for you by name and I had been meaning to tell you but as she is associated with the resistance I couldn't just let you meet her without me there for obvious reasons, lest we not forget, Nilsa works for me" she spat.

Solenne turned around to lock eyes with Aerilyn.

Aerilyn wasn't happy with those answers "what obvious reasons, sounds like you were never going to tell me" The Queen walked forward and sighed, then proceeded to pick the games up off the floor and put them away.

"You will understand one day, I am happy to take you to her tomorrow, I promise you not one hair on her has been harmed, you'll be happy to know that she has been well looked after" Solenne stared hard at the girl, she would promise her the world and more if the girl asked of it.

She couldn't help but be hot and cold with the human, it was hard on both of them.

Solenne had promised herself that she mustn't hurt Aerilyn anymore, she was fragile enough and she could never forgive herself if anything happened to the girl.

"I will take you back to your room now" Aerilyn sighed her head in defeat, it had been a long day and she needed rest.

Queen Solenne walked side by side with the girl back to her room, rubbing shoulders accidently as they did so.

The girl took in the Queen and the gold armour she was wearing, feeling a flutter in her stomach.

She must have come straight back and not changed yet, even so she half scared the human whilst simultaneously she found herself enamored.

Solenne held the door open and followed the girl in, whilst some guards waited outside. "Are you okay?" she asked the girl, coming closer to try and look at her neck.

The girl flinched at their closeness but didn't move away.

The Queen could only tell from her intuition that the girl was in pain.

Solenne's fingers made their way to her neck to check, causing a gasp to leave Aerilyn as they traced her skin.

She lifted the golden collar up and winced at the marks underneath, she hated to see the girls skin marked like this, it looked sore.

For Solenne the situation was becoming serious, for Aerilyn to feel their bond, she had to try and let the girl in and get to know her.

She brought her hands up to the girls cheek, where it was red and roar, using the back of her hand to stroke her tenderly.

The Queen's touch made her tingle, with her knees going weak, the anger she felt was leaving her body at a mere touch.

Queen Solenne knew the affect she was having on the girl and enjoyed it. "I'll see about some cream tomorrow for you" her hand lingered, stroking Aerilyn's neck before she removed it.

They stood looking into each others eyes, that was when Aerilyn noticed the blood on the Queen's face, causing her to frown. She decided that even though she was mad at her, she didn't like to see her like this in her war outfit and momentarily worried about her, before realising she could probably handle herself.

The human quickly walked into her bathroom muttering a "stay there" before grabbing a flannel and walking back out to the Queen who didn't look like she had moved an inch.

The girl moved slowly so that the Queen did not feel threatened by her, she held her hand up and slowly wiped the blood off of her face with the flannel.

Solenne was shocked to say the least and felt like she did not deserve this treatment after everything that had happened. "there all better" Aerilyn was happy the blood was off her face.

"Thank you" Solenne stumbled over her words causing her to furrow her eyebrows.
