《Kings of Hawkings [bxb]》Bonus: Lukas

Lukas was 11 years old when he first saw the dark haired boy at school. His grey eyes and bright smile was captivating and the first thing he thought was "He's magnetic". Lukas immediately wanted to draw his attention and hoped that this boy would look at him.

His father leaned over a little. "That is Jonas Spencer. His father's business is starting to do well."

Lukas nodded, excited that his father was pushing this. "Understood, father."

He let go of his father's hand and walked up to Jonas and held out his hand. "Hello, I'm Lukas."

Jonas flashed him a smile and shook his hand. "Hi Lukas. You can call me Joey."

'Joey' fit him because it seemed as lighthearted as he was. Everything about him was extraordinary. He encouraged others and showed an unnatural kindness, seemingly able to lead people almost naturally. He acted older than 11 years old, more mature and aware of how the world worked, which fit Lukas' personality perfectly.

Lukas started to associated with him more, often inviting him over to his house. Jonas started to reveal small things about himself, things that no one else was able to see, like when his smile faltered or when he got angry. Lukas felt special that he was part of these moments, like it was a secret only they shared. At the same time, Lukas felt like he could step away from the strict mold his father forced him in when he was with Jonas. He had small pockets of time when he could relax and just be a kid.

However, those moments were quickly becoming seldom and he found that Jonas was pulling away emotionally, especially in middle school. People noticed Jonas more, and wanted to be around him. Jonas seemed to want to step into the role of being everyone's friend and started to hang out with more people. For the first time, Lukas was upset with Jonas. He couldn't understand why he would waste his precious time on these leeches. They were all thieves, stealing away the minutes that he could have with Jonas.

Lukas disliked how other people flocked to him when he was there first. When more people started to siphon their shrinking time together, Lukas feared he would fall to the wayside. He started to loathe the flies around Jonas. He wanted to steer Jonas' gaze to focus on only him.

He found ways to push others aside because he learned a lot about manipulation and coercion from his father. But his eyes always remained locked on him. He started to notice more things about him. Odd winces. Downcast eyes when he was around Clark Spencer. Softness when dealing with Eli.

In high school, things got more turbulent and Jonas was becoming more emotionally detached. It was a distance that he no longer wanted to tolerate. The precious moments Lukas had with him as a child had completely disappeared, but he found himself wanting more.

He would whisper to himself, "look at me", until it became a mantra. He craved Jonas' attention.

Jonas hid well under his disguise of 'Joey'. Lukas concluded that because 'Joey' was fake, everyone clinging on to him was fake as well. They would never know the real Jonas. They would never see the bruises forming, or be aware of the nightmares, or learn about his fear for the dark. But Lukas knew it all. He observed and he saw many secrets becoming unraveled.

But to his dismay, Jonas started to date. How dare these girl pretend to be worthy of Jonas? How dare they cling to his arm? How dare they kiss his lips? How dare they make him look elsewhere?

When he was alone with Jonas, he would chastise the girls Jonas was dating. He would plant seeds of dislike inside Jonas' head to make him push them away, and it worked for the most part. But when it didn't, Lukas found ways to make them back off on their own.

He continued watching and waiting. Then one day he decided to stop by the Spencer house spontaneously. Before he could ring the doorbell, he heard yelling from inside the home. He snuck his way through the property to the side of the house where the voices were coming from.

That's when he heard it; the smacking of a hand hitting flesh followed by strained groans. He peeked inside through a window and saw Jonas taking hits from his father. He looked like he was almost dancing, absorbing the blows, as if this was a natural occurrence. Lukas felt like he could have dodged all of the hits, but Jonas would let the fists slip through and land on him. Lukas watched one slam heavily on his stomach and he doubled over.

"You know what's next, Jonas. You need to reflect." Clark said darkly.

And that's when Lukas saw something else entirely. Panic and fear.

"Father, please. Not there. I can reflect anywhere else. Please. Don't make me go in there." Jonas voice was trembling.

But it didn't stop Clark from grabbing him by the shirt and practically dragged him away. Lukas was still listening to Jonas' pleading.

The helplessness laced Jonas' voice like poison and it made Lukas shiver.

Lukas had manipulated people before. He had brought them to their knees and let their eyes fill with dread, but it didn't make him feel the same way as it did while listening to Jonas.

He started to imagine what it would look like if Jonas was begging in front of him. He wanted to hear the pure tremble in his voice again and the soul-stirring pleas. He started to imagine Jonas' normally piercing eyes softening and widening in fear, much like a doe's eyes... He wanted that expression to be only for him.

After that, he paid even more attention and found the cycle of Clark's abuse and he would sneak into the property so he could just hear that voice again. He was addicted to Jonas' desperate voice.

'Joey' was nothing but a fake persona. The only thing that was real was locked away behind the Spencer's door. The broken cries, the fearful pleas... those were genuine.

But then his father mentioned something ridiculous; an Elite position that stood above all others was reserved for Jonas. Lukas boiled over with rage.

Lukas should have that position because he control everything at the school anyway. And how dare they try to make Jonas rise above him? How dare they try to cast more attention on him? No one could force Jonas to look away from him. He needed to control Jonas, have him submissive.

But Jonas surprised him. After years of being kind and gently, he finally slipped and got into a fight. Lukas found his opportunity. Manipulation was always easy, and he twisted that school around his fingers.

Target Jonas. Ostracized him. Break him.

'Wolf' was a fitting name for him. He was feral and lashed out too easily. The facade was flaking away and the raw emotions Lukas coveted were coming to the surface. Jonas just needed to be tamed.

When the school would beat him down, Lukas would come and help lick his wounds. Jonas became vulnerable in his hands, only looking at him, and Lukas was in bliss. But some idiot with a broken bottle ruined that all. They told Jonas that he was behind all of the bullying and Jonas turned from him.

Lukas nearly went mad from it. So he intensified the attacks. He needed Jonas broken again, then Jonas would come back to him.

But how do you make a wolf docile? You make it fearful of you. You make it cower in front of you. You force it's head down and it's tail between its legs. Break it's pride.

There was something beautiful about seeing such a powerful creature prostrate to you. And the most beautiful thing would see Jonas lowering his head in front of him and become absolutely dependent on him.

Lukas wanted it all to himself; Jonas' cries, pleas, and shattered emotions.

He helped with the attack on the last day of school, but something outside of his control happened; Jonas left.

He searched for him. He even went to the gym where he knew Jonas frequented, but the owners wouldn't even let him through the doors.

Jonas was gone and Lukas filled the leading role of the school, as he should. He wanted to continue searching for Jonas, but his father started to see the obsession and forced him to stop, removing his resources.

Lukas threw a tantrum, breaking everything in his room and threatening his family. But he finally regained his calm. There was another Spencer. He just needed to start over and watch.

So he watched Eli, but it wasn't as exciting as Jonas. He was a pale imitation of him. But still he found something interesting. He saw how Eli looked at men, specifically one blonde young man at the mall.

He continued watching until the night of the Hunt. The school tried to protest, claiming that it would violate their agreement with the Wolf, but they were no longer in charge. Lukas forced their hand and started it again.

He specifically went after the blonde young man who Eli looked at. How much would it break Eli to see the man he liked be abused?

But once again, his calculations were off. He never expected Jonas to reemerge with the Kings of Hawkings. Who the hell gave him a crown? Who let him raise his head and stand higher than him?

All the work he put into breaking him was repaired and he was stronger and more confident than ever. This wasn't the Jonas he wanted and longed for.

Ruined. Jonas was absolutely ruined.

And worst of all, he resisted.

But at least Lukas found him again. He just needed to fix Jonas' gaze so it wasn't focused on the Mad Dog, but on him. But Jonas kept turning to Mad Dog and Lukas' normal threats fell into the void.

Now he wasn't just trying to break Jonas, he was suddenly fighting against the Mad Dog and the other Kings. Frustratingly, they seemed to brush everything off of their shoulders.

Lukas was furious. Especially when Jonas had the nerve to come back to St. Vincent's and threaten him. Then absurd comment from the Mad Dog lingered in the air.

Did Lukas like the Wolf?

Lukas wanted to scoff. He wanted to possess him, keep him on a leash for himself. But did like him? Did he want to be in a relationship with him?

Now he was suddenly questioning all of his actions and motivations: the jealousy, the possessiveness, the sheer desire to have Jonas as his own.

He could never admit it because it was simpler to claim that he wanted to break Jonas. He tried to tell himself that possession is different that affection. But within the veiled madness blooming in his mind, he still longed for Jonas to only look at him.

So he used the school as a threat, but they pushed back.

He used Eli against him, but he slipped through his fingers. He never expected Eli to out himself.

So finally, he tried to take the thing that Jonas cared for the most. He set up an attack on Hugh.

But the mutt was resilient.

New Years was supposed to be the night to bring him back under his foot. He was supposed to be triumphant and have the Wolf yield and surrender. The fantasies ran rampant in his mind, yearning to hear his trembling voice begging for mercy.

But Jonas refused to work alone. He had a pack of animals following him around.

And when he protected Hugh instead of coming back to him like the dog he was supposed to be, Lukas snapped.

If he can't have him, no one will. If he can't be broken, then he would not be allowed to breathe.

If Jonas won't look at him, then his eyes should remain closed.

But then everything fell out of control. Somehow, Jonas was the one playing games with him and he only realized this when he was sitting in a cell covered in blood.

He wanted to rampage, but the pain from his broken bones finally hit him and he collapsed.

He could only think about how much he hated Mad Dog for taking Jonas away from him, and having the audacity to hurt him.

He hated Mad Dog until he felt it pulsing through his blood. His hatred and obsession over Jonas dominated his mind.

Look at me.

Look at me.

Look. At. Me.

Lukas continued to repeat these words as he sat numbly in his wheelchair.

The nurses watched him carefully.

"We should consider changing his dosage. When he gets like this, he turns violent." One said.

"I'll talk to the doctor." Another nurse took off.

He reappeared with a doctor close behind him. The doctor examined Lukas who was still muttering "look at me".

He sighed and ordered for some pills that were brought to him almost immediately. They helped Lukas swallow them down and his mutterings turned to groans until he finally fell silent.

He became lost in the fog of medication once again. He was forever doomed to live in this half-life state, semi aware that Jonas would never look at him again.
