《Kings of Hawkings [bxb]》Chapter 50

The Kings kept in close contact on their phones. They wanted to take care of as many St. Vincent's students for as long as possible, extending the time before Jonas had to confront them. Divide and conquer.
But they all reported the same thing - no one had seen Lukas.
This made Jonas nervous and his eyes remain peeled around the courtyard, trying to catch any movement that could be Lukas.
Although it was New Years, it wasn't too cold out, so the jacket he had on was enough to keep him warm, but he still felt a chill down his spine for each hour that ticked by without news from Lukas. He started to check in with the girls as well, making sure they were safe. They assured him time and time again that they even barricaded the door of the room they were in.
Jonas ran his hand through his hair, trying to calm his anxious heart. This Hunt was too different from anything he had encountered before. He was unsettled and unnerved. Something was going to happen tonight, and it was going to be bad for him.
Time continued to lapse, and Jonas found that Lukas' patience finally ran out when he received a message.
: Are so pathetic that you are really hiding?
: You even sent out your goons to fight us? That wasn't part of the deal.
: Technically, I never agreed motherfucker.
: Besides, who says I'm hiding? Perhaps I'm just waiting
: Then where are you?
: Doesn't that defeat the purpose of 'Hide and Seek'?
Lukas then sent a picture of Lucy and Emilia from earlier tonight. Jonas grit his teeth. If he didn't sneak in he would have put the two girls in more danger than before. He still called them and made sure that they were safe and breathed a sigh of relief. Lukas couldn't use them against him.
However, he knew that Lukas would probably try and contact Ryan and Troy to start whatever plan he had in mind to break Jonas. But when he finds that he is unable to get a hold of his goons, he will realize that he lost his bargaining chip, and that Jonas was probably at the school... waiting.
He conference called the other Kings, but before he could answer, a weak but livid voice rang in his ear. "What the fuck, Jo!"
Jonas smiled lightly hearing that voice. "Sounds like you woke up." He laughed a little, feeling a sense of relief washing over him.

The was a click of Hugh's tongue in his ear. "I told you not to do anything stupid."
"I am not doing anything stupid. We are." Jonas said with a light shrug.
"Jo-" Hugh tired to protest, but Jonas cut him off because he noticed the lack of noise on Hugh's line.
"Where are you, Hugh?" Jonas asked. He should be hearing the noises from the hospital, but instead it sounded like he was in a car. "Millan!" He yelled.
Millan coughed a little. "You two are unbearably stubborn."
"Hugh, you seriously just had a blood transfusion! How could think about coming here?" Jonas rounded back on Hugh.
"Because you weren't here when I woke up, you asshole." Hugh said with a dark voice. "And I found out they have my fucking sister. I am not sitting this out."
Jonas sighed, not really blaming him for his anger. "You cannot overdo this, Hugh. You have to trust me."
"I do trust you, but I promised that I would have your back. So we're heading to you now." Hugh said quietly. He knew that Jonas was trying to protect him and end this without involving him. He remembered seeing Jonas' face crumple when he stumbled into the hospital room bleeding. He never wanted to be the reason why Jonas breaks or loses hope. He needed to be by his side.
Sam coughed a little. "So, where exactly are you?"
"Hugh knows where I am." Jonas said. He didn't need to tell him where he wanted to end this nightmare. Hugh already knew that he would be in the courtyard where he was originally jumped. That place was the beginning of the end, now he wanted to truly end this fight with St. Vincent's.
Jonas sighed. "Lukas has already tried to use Mila and Lucy against me, so he will find out soon that he lost them. They will be heading over here soon."
The Kings cursed under their breath and started to quickly move to their cars to race over to St. Vincent's.
Jonas remained in the tree, the fireworks have long stopped and the night was silent. He heard a few people start running to his area and noticed their maroon sweaters. They seemed panicked.
"Lukas told us that he's here somewhere." One yelled as they were coming into Jonas's line of sight.

"Do you think he really stayed here though?" Another asked, a little out of breath.
"Pray that he left." Another grumbled.
Jonas looked at their numbers, and counted a small group of five. However, they all carried bats tightly in their hands.
"It's a shame praying doesn't work in these scenarios." He said lightly when the group of boys were near the tree he was waiting in.
They visibly jumped, and they felt a fearful tingle on their skin when they heard his voice. They looked around desperately, trying to locate the owner of the voice. Jonas quickly moved and jumped down from the tree, facing the five boys.
"You guys really shouldn't have crossed the line. You should have just left us alone." Jonas said quietly, making the situation increasingly eerie for them. The boys trembled a little.
"We... We're sorry, Wolf. Please... don't hurt us..." One stammered and the others cowered behind him.
Jonas chuckled. "Too late for groveling." He stretched his arms a little, and the boys paled seeing that his knuckles were taped up and already stained with blood.
They readied their bats, but still took a step back out of fear. Jonas smirked and quickly launched himself forward. The first boy was too shock to move, and collapsed the moment Jonas' fist cracked against his face.
Jonas saw movement from the corner of his eye, and ducked just in time to have a bat soar over his head. Jonas twisted a little, and connected his fist with the boy's rib cage, hearing a satisfying crack. The boy cried out and fell to the ground. Another bat came towards him, but he side stepped and grabbed the arm of the attacker and twisted his arm around his back, making him drop the bat. Jonas kicked it away and let go of the boy, only to follow up with a spinning kick that landed across his face. The boy fell over with a dazed look on his face.
Another bat was quickly approaching, and Jonas had no choice but to lift his arm and guard against the impact. He hissed when it connected, but at least there wasn't too much strength behind the swing. They boy started at him with wide eyes and dropped the bat and tried to back away, but he tripped over on of his friends who was unconscious and fell down.
Jonas was trained to not stop attacking until a ref stopped him. There was no ref here and he would only stop when his anger was sated.
He jumped forward and landed on top of the boy, his legs straddling him, and continued to punch until the boy's head rocked backwards and he passed out.
One last boy was still standing and trembling while holding a bat in front of him. "L...Lukas i...is coming... he will s...stop you."
Jonas rolled his eyes. "No one would have needed to stop me if you left me alone. When you think back on this night, remember that you instigated it. You are the one who broke the bones in your body."
"B...Broke?" The color left his face.
Jonas only laughed coldly as he advanced. His fist flew, landing heavily on the boy who forgot about the bat in his hand. He cried out with each crack he felt. Jonas didn't stop, only hitting areas that would not cause him to pass out right away. But the pain of the broken bones won, and darkness embraced the boy as he fell to the ground.
He checked the time and confirmed only 20 minutes passed, which meant that the Kings and St. Vincent's should be arriving soon. He climbed back into the tree and waited.
He was hoping that the Kings would arrive first, but ask he watched the lights from the vehicles crawl up the hill to the campus, he knew that it was all wishful thinking. He sighed a little and called Jaiden. "When you see them come into frame, start the live feed."
He hung up quickly and prepared himself. At least this time, he was ready for the oncoming fight.
Jonas could feel his heart palpitating as the rowdy noises started to come closer. The St. Vincent's boys were whooping and hollering, ready for a fight. He could hear the bats and weapons clack on the ground or the walls.
It was a mental game to have him on edge and he hated that it worked. A layer of sweat dripped from his brow and he could feel his shirt dampen on his back. This was going to be a hard earned victory. But he had to do this. He had to try. And he needed to endure until his friends came.
