《Kings of Hawkings [bxb]》Chapter 47

Although the crisis of the Spencer household was over, there was still an overhanging shadow looming on the boys of Hawkings.
The Wolf Hunt.
They knew that they could not escape it and they had to come up with a plan. But life is never predictable, the the boys at St. Vincent's are quite vengeful. They could all plot and plan, but they knew that St. Vincent's were doing the same. What truly unnerved them was the radio silence from Lukas.
Jonas and Hugh were inseparable. They would work out together, eat together, sleep together, and visit Eli every evening. There was never a deviation, which was their first mistake.
The second mistake was Jonas exposing what he was scared to lose. His closest people. He just didn't know how grave that would be.
It was New Years Eve, and Jonas and Hugh visited Eli like normal. This time Travis was with them to watch the fireworks with Eli in the hospital and Hugh helped them sneak in food without the doctors noticing. They gathered around and enjoyed each other's company, with a sense of contentment that the Spencer boys hadn't felt in a while. Eli was going to be released soon and they had already set up his room in the dorm.
Hugh squeezed Jonas' shoulder. "I'll be right back." He went out in the hall while Jonas remained with the others.
Hugh stretched his waist and pressed his options in the coffee vending machine. He rubbed his face as the coffee poured into a disposable cup. He and Jonas hadn't had a lot of time to sleep, because he and the other Kings were working on a plan to counter St. Vincent's. They were trying to draw out this Hunt as long as possible, but as much as they tried to deny it, it would be impossible to avoid it.
Hugh was extremely frustrated and hated how they could still be manipulated by this school. He was lost in his own thoughts and watching the coffee pour, that he did not hear the footsteps behind him. His eyes were dull until he felt a sharp pain in his back and wave of heat rush through his body and then he felt like he was doused with ice cold water.
He turned his head quickly and saw a hooded figure walking away quickly and stuffing something into his pocket. Hugh felt dizzy and stumbled a little. Panic chilled his heart when he saw a red puddle spreading under his feet. He pushed himself to gain control of his body and stumbled back to the hospital room.
Jonas smiled warmly when Hugh stepped in, but the smile dropped when he noticed how Hugh was leaning against the doorway and was abnormally pale.
Jonas rushed towards him and took a sharp intake of air when he saw the trail of blood. "Help!" He yelled out. "Eli, press your emergency button!"

He grabbed on to Hugh, but his legs already gave out. Jonas fell to his knees with Hugh in his arms. He pulled up the back of his shirt and saw the wound that had the blood pouring out. "Fuck!" He cried out, his voice cracking and he pressed his hands tightly on the wound, trying to stop the blood.
"Help!" He yelled again. "Hugh stay with me. Please please stay with me."
Hugh weakly hugged him. "Sweetheart... Don't do anything stupid." His voice was a whisper. It seemed to be comforting, but the weakness that Jonas felt coming from Hugh made him panic even more.
"Hugh! Babe!"
But Hugh wasn't responding anymore. He was calling out his name repeatedly, his voice becoming hoarse. When he felt that someone was pulling Hugh away, he cried out and held him closer.
"Jo! Let go!" A loud voice broke him from his agitated state and he snapped his head up to the see the doctors trying to help Hugh. He quickly let go and watched them pull Hugh on a stretcher and ran him down the hall.
Jonas was still stunned on the floor, his body now covered in blood and his eyes wild with emotion. "Jo!" Travis was calling him, but Jonas ignored him. He pulled himself up, stumbling a little and then ran after the stretcher. He looked at the trail of blood and the puddle in front of the coffee machine that still held the cup Hugh was waiting for.
On the ground was a thick envelope that was already soaked with blood. Jonas trembled a little as he picked up the envelope, covering his fingers with Hugh's blood. Small drips fell from the paper to the ground, but Jonas didn't notice.
On the front of the envelope had "Wolf" embossed in white. However, it was already stained a deep red. With shaking hands, he opened the envelope and pulled out the cardstock.
Similar embossed writing greeted him on the card.
St. Vincent's Elites Cordially Invites
~The Wolf~
To the first Wolf Hunt
Starting at the strike of Midnight
Enjoy running!
He crumpled the card in his hand, letting the blood drip from his hands. Midnight was in the next two hours. If he stayed here, who else would be harmed? If he went to the dorms, would they be safe? How could he protect everyone? They already went this far just to deliver an invitation!
Travis was right next to him and touched his arm apprehensively. When Jonas turned to him, Travis shuddered under his glare. "I... I know where they took him. Come with me." He said quietly and pulled Jonas' arm.
Jonas was about to resist, but finally found his steps. He clumsily followed Travis until they were in the ICU waiting room. Jonas was focused on the doors that led to the ICU where they had Hugh, but he couldn't move. Travis was on the phone, calling several people and updating them, but Jonas was deaf to it all. He didn't even see Eli roll next to them in a wheelchair.

His hand reached out and he placed it softly on Jonas's hand. "Jo... Big brother..." He called out, his voice wavered.
Jonas slowly turned to him, his eyes filled with fear and rage. Eli tried to pull the card from Jonas' hands, but Jonas pulled it away and shook his head.
Eli sighed. "You're going, aren't you."
"This was to deliver an invitation. Imagine what would happen if I ignore it." Jonas growled.
"Jo, Hugh is going to make it. I heard them talking and it seems like he was found in time to avoid complications. But, Jo, they are trying to rattle and scare you." Eli tried to reason.
"They succeed." Jonas said quietly. "I'm fucking terrified." He was in such a torturous emotional state, that he couldn't yell, punch, or cry. He felt frozen and heavy like he was filled with lead.
Alex and Lily came running in with the Kings right behind them. Lily started to cry when she saw the blood on Jonas and his mental state. She hugged him tightly and sobbed while trying to comfort him.
He held her gently like he was scared he was going to hurt her, but he still couldn't cry. He could only crush the invitation further.
What seemed like forever, the doctors finally emerged. All of their attention was on him as he explained that there was no internal damage and they were able to stitch him up. He will require a blood transfusion, but was already starting the process. He was out of the woods and already recovering. However, it may be awhile before he woke up.
Jonas let out a shuddered breath, and the tears finally fell from his eyes. He held his heads in his hands and his body shuddered with silent sobs. Eli rubbed his back to comfort him.
Lily gently grabbed his arms and pulled him up. She gave him a sad smile and wiped his tears. "Let's go see him." She said softly and pulled him to where the doctor was leading him.
When he entered the room, the same foreign feeling filled him like when he first saw Eli. Hugh did not belong on that bed. He wasn't supposed to look that weak. Jonas sat next to him and held his hand, his finger gently stroking the crown tattoo on his wrist.
Jonas was supposed to be a socialite, a leader amongst his peers, leading them through High School and college, and then controlling the business social circle. He was supposed to marry a woman to help raise his status. He was supposed to do many things, but was never meant to be happy.
But for the first time, he was happy. He was no longer a Spencer, but a King in multiple ways now. He found the love of his life and a direction for his career. He had everything in his hands, but it was terrifying to see how quickly that could dissipate. How could he predict that his socialite background would be so dangerous? How could Lukas turn into such a villain?
He leaned forward and kissed Hugh's crown tattoo. Sometimes he felt like he didn't deserve this man, but no matter what, he would refuse to let him go.
He looked at the clock and saw that he had an hour until midnight. His eyes lingered on Hugh and fear ripped through him. He had been through so many near death experiences. He faced his difficulties head on and accepted the consequences, never thinking twice. But for the first time in all of his years a terrifying thought echoed in his mind. I don't want to die.
But facing this Wolf Hunt, especially now, he felt that there was a chance that he will. And the thought of leaving Hugh so early broke his heart.
He wanted to watch the fireworks with him and then hold him through the night while whispering meaningless jokes to each other. He would give anything to hear him call him sweetheart. He wanted to sneak off to their room and enjoy each other's touches.
He wanted to graduate with him and move in together. He wanted to listen to the music Hugh created. He wanted Hugh in his corner in his first professional fight, cheering him on.
He wanted to make Hugh his husband.
They are supposed to have decades together.
And while he laid unconscious on the bed, Jonas had to make the decision to go towards a dangerous unknown. How much further will they take this?
He stood up and lightly kissed Hugh's lips and placed his head on his forehead. "I love you." He whispered.
He nodded towards Lily and Alex. "I'm going to get some air real quick."
"Of course, dear." Lily said with a small smile and eyes full of pity. She felt regretful that Jonas had to deal with such horrible things one right after the other.
Jonas stepped out of the room and took a shuddered breath. His eyes looked down the hallway and saw the Kings talking amongst themselves. His look was heavy and guilt ridden, but he still turned and walked quickly in the opposite direction.
He slipped out through the stairwell at the end of the hall, jogged down the stairs and through the parking lot. He jumped on the motorcycle and took off into the night.

With a gaze that was hard to describe, Lark stared at his body in the mirror. Not his body as a human, but his other body. Head of a reptile with rows of sharp teeth, a 180 cm tall body that is full of muscles, covered in scales formed green and black tiger stripes. Clawed hands and feet, with a tail strong enough to crush an adult neck. 'Man. . . can I still be called a human?' In the end, with a deep sigh Lark changed his form back into a human. A moment later, he came out of the room wearing a combat dress, tactical belt with shoulder strap, and jungle boots. While inserting a magazine into an AK-102, Lark muttered. 'Whatever, time to hunt Orcs.' *****

8 179TRX's Adventures
Set during the 1980s, it narrates the daily life of Mathias, a boy with "psychic powers", and his friends, which ends when something happens that changes the course of our protagonist's life. ... This is titled this way because some letters of the characters' names form the TRX of the title... Although there is one character who literally has that name, it is also named after her. Ah, and if some parts sounds a bit weird because of some words, tell me. This also contains some simple drawings made by me. This is going to have a lot of edits, apparently.... And maybe I'll add a couple of stuff. I'll try to make this be good... Or, at least, fun. ... Also, the older version will stay, but it kind of spoils the plot (although it changed in many ways), so if you want to read it before this... Do it at your own risk.
