Hugh quickly fell asleep in Jonas' arms. Jonas watch the man he loved sleep soundly next to him while he ran his fingers through his hair. Sleep was a secondary thought for Jonas because his mind was running wild with elation knowing that Hugh reciprocated his feelings.

He didn't say he loved Hugh because he was caught up in the moment of making love. He had felt the impulse to say it for a while now, but was too hesitant. He didn't want to scare off Hugh by falling too fast, but there was no stopping it. He was irrefutably in love with Hugh.

He knew that he had never felt anything as intense as this before, even with Emilia after dating for a year. With Hugh, it was different. It was powerful. He felt like a puzzle piece clicked in place. A dark void that he never knew was inside of him was suddenly filled.

All he wanted to do was admire the man in his arms. He watched as Hugh's chest rose and fell, and how relaxed his face looked when breathing out. His strong muscles were accentuated by the warm light of the lamp. Jonas' finger lightly traced the sharp lines, as if he was drawing a piece of art. He could have the whole world hate him, but he would still be content as long as he had Hugh.

Jonas picked up the phone and switched to his camera application. Not wanting to make the same mistake as Hugh, he silenced the shutter and turned the flash off. He snapped a quick picture of Hugh sleeping soundly on his chest. He grinned at the image now saved on his phone. He wanted to treasure this night with him.

He was planning on tossing his phone back to the desk but saw that he had an unread text message and recalled the notification that sounded earlier.

He opened the message and clenched his teeth when he saw Lukas' number.

: My proposition is a good deal for you

It came through a while ago, but he know that Lukas would still be up, relishing in Jonas' discomfort.

: There's only so many ways I can say 'fuck off'.

: It's a Hunt, dear Joey

: Fuck your hunts

: Stop being dramatic. It's simple. A hunt of you versus us. Just you. No one else will be involved or get hurt.

: Fuck. Your. Hunts.

: Think about it. We hunt you for one night - a game of hide and seek. As long as you participate, win or lose, we will leave Hawkings alone.

: Seriously, Lukas. Go fuck yourself

: I know you're smarter than this. Hear me out. If you participate, the feud is dead between our schools.

: There is not a trustworthy bone in your body. There's always a catch to fuck someone over. Lose my number

: Well, I won't deny that there is a caveat. If you're caught, we have our way with you, and I won't lie, we will make you hurt. But we will not touch another person the night of our Wolf Hunt. You will be our only target. If we don't find you, St. Vincent's completely withdraws. Not only do we step away from our schools' feud, as an added bonus we will kill any thoughts of future Hunts.

The Hunts were supposed to be canceled already. Your promises are worth shit.

: I'll give you a month to think about. We will even call a truce during this time and will leave you all alone. A gesture of goodwill.

: There's nothing to think about.

: Oh, Joey. Stop trying to be stubborn.

: Stop calling me Joey. You dubbed me Wolf, so call me that, you fucker.

: If you accepted being the Wolf, you will accept this hunt soon enough.

: Fuck you and fuck off

: You act like I dont know you. You're going to agree eventually, it's only a matter of when. You're too damn sentimental for your own good. This is a way to keep your people safe. You of all people know what we're capable of.

: You act like this school is a weakness, but you obviously don't know what WE are capable of. Try us, motherfucker.

: Tempting, but your school isn't your only weakness. Tell me, how would your father react when he finds out little Eli is gay too?

The world spun for a moment when Jonas read the last message. He had worked unbearably hard to protect his baby brother, especially from their homophobic father. How the hell did Lukas know about Eli?

: Leaving me on read status? Come on, Wolf. Things were just getting exciting. How about a gift.

: And God said, "Let there be Light".

Within moments, a new whirring sound echoed in the dorms, and the lamp in Jonas's desk turned back on. He could hear the cheers from the boys outside. The power was back on, but no one understood the price of that power. Jonas felt like he was offering himself has a sacrifice or tribute.

: Still nothing? You need to think about it. One month. If you don't agree or decide ignore us, Eli's secret will be leaked and we will test how resilient your peers really are.

: Let me tell you a little secret about myself, Wolf, I enjoy pushing people to their breaking point.

A small shiver ran up his spine. He had already discovered this secret of Lukas. Everything was a game to him. When he realized that Jonas had a violent side and beat Michael, he had already started a new game. He wanted to see how far he could push Jonas. So he had the school start calling Jonas 'Wolf' and set up the Wolf Challenge. When things weren't progressing fast enough, Lukas encouraged more violent challenges, inciting deadly pranks, while comforting Jonas on the side. He would still visit Jonas' home and check in on him and give him fake encouragement. He was pleased to see Jonas smile and filed with hope but the time he left the house, knowing that he would have another day of hell at school.

With Lukas' goading, Jonas suffered immensely. He was locked in a chemical filled room, found razors in his shoes and backpacks, pushed down the stairs, tripped while walking down the hall, and so much more that he became accustomed to bandaging his own wounds. And then he was attacked in the classroom where he sustained the injury to his stomach from the broken bottle. It was that moment that Jonas accepted the role as Wolf and became unhinged, especially when he found out that his best friend was feeding him fake sympathies while orchestrating the Wolf Challenges. Lukas thought he was triumphant.

But to his dismay, Jonas came back from the hospital and seemed to have calmed again, as if he found some sort of peace. Lukas had no idea that Jonas met Brett who helped him through his darkest moment.

To Lukas' surprise, Jonas somehow shut down the school's Hunts and enraged all of the Elites. But there was a small glimmer of satisfaction with the deal. The dean told Lukas that Jonas would not retaliate or report any bullying he will experience in school.

Lukas thought that it was a good trade off for him personally. Now he could really see how far he can break Jonas, his dearest best friend.

Lukas and the school expected a somewhat docile Wolf would simply endure their beatings. But when Brett passed away, the Wolf was back and more aggressive than ever. The small bridge of peace was ripped away from Jonas and be no longer has stable footing. And he took his grief out on anyone who attacked him.

The challenge was to hurt the Wolf, but anyone who tried came back with broken limbs. It was no longer a game, and Jonas instilled a deep seeded fear within the school. Lukas still pushed for action, but the students refused to do anything that required them to get too close. They resorted to things like running him down with their cars. Jonas had to adapt and learn how to identify cars by how they sounded to dodge quickly.

They also locked him in rooms and kept him there overnight or through the weekend, but he would always escape. His efforts to escape generated terror in his peers. The walls of the rooms were busted and torn, windows were shattered, and his own blood was splattered on the floors and walls. One time, Jonas completely broke the door down that trapped him and found the closest Elite, sending him to the hospital.

Jonas stopped being reactive and started to attack anyone who got too close or made eye contact with him. Lukas was furious knowing that people started to back down and avoid him. That's when he planned the attack at the end of the school year.

They waited until it was dark and Jonas was leaving for the gym. Lukas ran up from behind him with the bat and slammed it against Jonas' head. Lukas still relished the sound it made. It was the catalyst that started the beating from the other students. But Jonas still frustrated Lukas when he started to fight back, and obtained the upper hand despite his disadvantages. Lukas turned tail and ran from the fight, leaving his peers in an unfortunate predicament. But Lukas didn't ran far away, just enough that he could hide and watch the fight. He had to admit, it was terrifying to see Jonas let loose. When it was over, his peers were crying or unconscious on the ground, and Jonas just laughed. It wasn't an amused laugh, or angry. It was hollow and cold. For the first time, Lukas feared what he created. He truly unleashed a monster.

And then Jonas disappeared, leaving only one post on social media. Not even his family knew where he was and Lukas reluctantly let go of his obsession. That was until the night of the Hunt, and he saw a new Jonas stepping out of a car. He hated how confident and strong he looked. He hated the newfound cockiness. He hated the people standing next to him and supporting him. He wanted Jonas isolated, broken, and hopeless. All of the schemes he came up with the year prior were pointless. He wanted a new Wolf Challenge.

If he broke Jonas enough, perhaps he would come crawling back to him like a good dog. He would belong to Lukas alone.

Jonas was also dwelling on the past, and how Lukas' words put all of the pieces together. The torment was all a game to see how far they could push Jonas. He felt a heat of rage push through his body, especially when a saw a new notification came in.

: Your little lover is probably reading this as well, so a message to him - This is business between St. Vincent's and the Wolf. Do not interfere.

: I also caution both of you against informing anyone else about this deal. Eli's secret might be revealed sooner rather than later if you do.

A curse escaped Jonas' lips.

: You have crossed the line multiple times, you bastard. I have warned you about saying anything to my lover. Not only have you threatened him, you have also threatened Eli. Pray you never run into me again, because you will lose more than just your tongue.

: I wonder when I will actually reach your breaking point.

: How about I break something of yours? Like your back or your neck?

: You know how to contact us.

Jonas glared at the phone. Rage pulsed through him and he wanted find Lukas immediately and tear him to pieces. It was no longer a war just between St. Vincent's and Hawkings. It was a new war between Jonas and his former best friend, Lukas.
