Sam, Millan, and Rodgers were still reeling over the fact that the King next them was actually the Wolf. The only student from St. Vincent's they admired. But they couldn't dwell on this fact for too long because the St. Vincent's forum confirmed that their suspicions were accurate. St. Vincent's was planning on make a move tonight.
Rodgers played the song on Jonas' post and turned a little pale. "That's real fucking creepy."
Hugh nudged Jonas. "You know that the wolf burns at the end of that song, right?"
Jonas rolled his eyes. "Do you think there is anyone at St. Vincent's who would listen to this song all the way through?"
The message from the Wolf was to make St. Vincent's panic and become sloppy. Luckily, the panic was showing in the Elite chat. But the Kings also sent a message through the Hawkings school announcement chat on their phones.
: St. Vincent's assholes are hunting right now
: Stay in groups and get in doors for now
: If you see anyone who needs help, help them and get them somewhere safe.
: Unless they are from St. Vincent's. Fuck them
: Make sure everyone is accounted for
: Await further instructions. We're going to make moves soon
Jonas was reading through the forums as their own school chat was erupting. "So the spot they want to hide their Prey is the town center. But the starting point is... fuck.. it's the mall."
Hugh paled. "Travis."
They all ran to Sam's car and piled in, while they all tried to call Travis and Jaiden, but neither we're answering.
They got to the mall in record time and parked near a group of luxury cars that could only belong to St. Vincent's. They saw approximately 30 kids in St. Vincent's uniforms surrounding two people, Jaiden and Travis. Both were fighting back and had quite a few cuts on their faces and knuckles.
Hugh reached out and clenched Jonas' hand. "Are you ready?"
Jonas was finally going to confront his past. His jaw was clenched. "Very."
But Jonas faltered when he saw a younger boy run into the middle of the group.
Hugh recognized him because of the cafe. "Eli? Shit, this may complicate things. They could target him for getting in the way." The last part he muttered, but it was so quiet in the car that everyone heard.
The Kings flickered their eyes between Eli and Jonas and saw the uncanny resemblance.

Jonas clenched Hugh's hand and Hugh could feel a small tremble. He looked at Jonas with concern. He never saw Jonas flustered or worried.
"Jonas, what do we need to do?" Hugh was clasping his hand back now.
"I'm going to look like a real asshole... Fuck. Trust me, please?" They could all hear the desperation in Jonas' voice and didn't question him. They just nodded, showing that they do.
"Guys, give us a second?" Hugh asked, and the other three nodded and climbed out of the car.
The group from St. Vincent's was too focused on Travis and Jaiden that they didn't notice the Kings. But Eli's interruption also paused the attack on the two.
While in the car alone, Hugh lifted Jonas' chin and turned him to face him. He wrapped his hands around his neck and rested his forehead on Jonas' so their breath mingled. Hugh ached hearing the anxious uneven breaths coming from Jonas.
"I trust you. Not because of what you did for my sister, not because you're the Wolf or a King. I trust you because you are my Jo." Hugh said quietly.
Jonas shook, restraining everything from moving the small distance and taking Hugh's lips. He let out a shaky breath. "What is going to happen next may start a war. Are you ok with that?"
Hugh snorted. "We have been itching for a war with St. Vincent's, we just didn't have the right King to complete the circle. Now we do."
St. Vincent's disliked Hawkings because they viewed them as thugs and a waste. However, the Kings hated St. Vincent's because they were cruel. There were numerous fights at Hawkings, but there was order. Fights had to be agreed upon, approved by the Kings, and supervised. Anything that happened without the consent of the Kings was punished. Also, Hawkings were not allowed to attack any other schools unwarranted. They all knew that they were stronger, and so they were not allowed to bully the weak. That is why Tank was such a terrible King.
But St. Vincent's bullied anyone weaker or poorer than them. And no one really knew the extent of their dark deeds because St. Vincent's students had rich and influential parents. Most of their scandals were buried.
Starting a war with St. Vincent's would be tough for Hawkings, but it wasn't just a fight between students. St. Vincent's will bring their money into play. But if the Kings wanted this, the students of Hawkings were ready to fight as well. They looked up to their Kings, especially now that Tank was gone. They knew how much the Kings protected them and were willing to give their all for their peers.

Hawkings was rowdy and violent, but it was cohesive.
Hugh ran his fingers through Jonas' hair. "Jonas, you are not fighting them alone anymore. We are not leaving your side. I am not leaving your side."
Hugh leaned his forward, finally closing that small gap. His lips brushed across Jonas', causing his breath to hitch. He paused, realizing what he was doing, and started to pull away.
Before he could get too far, Jonas' hand shot out and grabbed the back of Hugh's head, bringing his lips back to meet his. It was a chaste kiss, but filled with passion. Jonas knew he wanted Hugh, yet he did not comprehend how much yearned for his lips until this moment.
They pulled apart, a little breathless. Hugh grinned. "This is such shit timing."
Jonas chuckled. "The absolute worse."
Hugh lifted a hand and brushed Jonas' lower lip. "As much as I want to continue this, I think there are some asses we need to beat."
Jonas placed a kiss on Hugh's thumb and nodded. With a heavy sigh, Hugh pulled away and opened the door just so Jonas can hear Eli yelling at the bigger kid. "Seriously Jackson! We dont fuck with Hawkings for a reason. Just let them go."
"Stop talking big, Eli. Do you think you're tough because of your big brother. If you haven't noticed, your big bro ain't here." Jackson roared back, making Eli flinch a little.
"Jackson, I'm trying to stop you because-"
But he was interrupted by Sam yelling out. "Hey assholes!"
Jaiden and Travis were visibly relieved, while the St. Vincent's group started to get hesitant. Unlike Jonas, they kept tabs on the Kings of Hawkings and were able to recognize the three of them. When the silver haired King stepped out of the car, they all trembled. Hugh was known as the Mad Dog King with the longest running term as King. Ruthless, cruel, and insane.
They shuffled a little, and some people cursed their luck by bringing the Kings from Hawkings over. They were merciless and dangerous. They gave Eli an apologetic look, because they realized that he was trying to get them away before the Kings arrived.
However, the students of St. Vincent's felt the air turn cold when the final figure emerged. He was much different from their memories.
Before his fall, Joey Spencer was a friendly face that was always clean cut and neat. His hair was a crew cut and styled like all the other boys. His eyes were bright and he was always smiling. He would either be wearing his uniform or work out clothes like most of the other jocks. With his carefree personality and attractive looks, all the guys wanted to hang out with him and the girls adored him.
When he became the Wolf, he still wore his uniform, but it was disheveled as if his appearance no longer mattered. His hair was messy and shaggy, and he had a forlorn or angry look on his face with malevolent eyes.
But now, Jonas had gained a lot more muscle, so he was bigger and more chiseled. His clothes were casual, but fitted close to his body, giving everyone a good view of what type of build he had. Even the Hawkings jacket was tightly fitted around his muscular arms. His hair was cut into a quiff style, and the top was loosely brushed back with his fingers. A long earing hung from his ear that gave him a rebellious look.
But it wasn't just the style that they noticed was different. It was his demeanor. He stood taller and prouder than ever before as if he was destined to be standing amongst the Kings. His eyes were cold and sharp. He held no emotion on his face, which made everyone tense. There were audible gasps and even a few people took off, leaving the others behind. The Wolf had found them.
Living up to his insane name, Hugh slung his arm around Jonas' shoulders, making the crowd cry out with surprise, baffled that the Wolf would allow anyone to touch him. Even Eli's eyes widened with shock.
Jonas glared at the group and was able to identify almost every kid as being part of his old group, including Lukas; his old best friend who betrayed him the most. When he made eye contact with Lukas, he growled a little.
Hugh noticed where his glare was directed and leaned in close. "Friend of yours?"
Jonas snorted. "Something like that."
They stalked up to the group, all wearing their Hawkings jackets with the crown emblems. When Lukas noticed the crown on Jonas' jacket he grit his teeth.
Jonas didn't pay attention to him, but looked at the smaller kid, Eli. His eyes caught a small cut on his lip and Jonas' stare turned colder. Eli knew that he noticed the cut and wanted to kick himself for not hiding it.
Jonas quickly swiped his own lip. It was their way of communicating discreetly - for their own survival in a fucked up world. They had several hand motions that would tell the story without anyone finding out. By swiping his lip, he asked who caused the cut. Eli sighed and rubbed the back of his head - their father did it. "Motherfucker." Jonas snarled quietly.
His father was back in town.

The Desecrator's Tomb - A Numbers Lit-aRPG
A man appears in a dungeon full of undead. He tries to leave. This is my attempt at writing a litrpg where the system is more formalized. This means that there will be a fair amount of min-maxing and we will hopefully be able to calculate the dps of every ability by the time I am done. Expect math. The main character will become a Drain Tank. This story uses an aRPG item and stat system. Oh and one last thing. Beware the penguins. update 1/8/22: I am trying to simulate things as faithfully as is reasonable. As of chapter 17 there are animated gifs depicting Chilly's life throughout encounters. update 1/11/22: Kreksyte drew me a cover! All hail our artist overlords! update 5/25/22: Going on hiatus for a bit. The second arc is complete. Will come back for the 3rd and final arc soon. update 7/15/22: ayy...I've returned. Starting the third and final arc. [was once a participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge]

The Paths of Magick
Credits: Story by Xcaliburnt. Cover Art by @Bervolart. Magick, the power to bend the laws of reality. All because of a mystical substance known as mana. Mages follow the Paths to achieve power, for there is no more addictive chase. Each Path winds and twists, forcing mages through the flames of adversity and challenge. Though the operative word is "path", the reality is far less straightforward. Instead of a road, Paths are like the branches of world trees, erupting into the heavens, intertwining, and ending in sharp snaps. Only the strongest reach the sky. There are several Paths, and many Ways to walk them—variations of the same Path, and like the stars, they are endless. Magick is the sacred flame that scours the fat, rendering the truest self. Superfluous flesh melting away to show the skeleton of one's being. A chance for ascension—apotheosis. Though not every mage works to godhood, if they survive long enough, It is inescapable. Witness the lives of those that tread the knife's edge of self-destruction. Each one intertwined in their search for answers, revenge, and, most of all: power. These individuals have all lost something precious—irreplaceable—and In search of filling the void left behind, they have taken up the mantle of a mage. Per aspera ad astra. Ad mortem vel divinitatis. (Through adversity to the stars. To death or divinity.) There is no consistent release schedule except my consistent inconsistency. Besides, there’s like a thousand pages worth of content, how can—you already read it? Goddamn. Oh, and there is a very long hiatus between volumes as I intend to edit and rewrite a lot. What to Expect: This story is progression fantasy, so expect a healthy dose of training. It's also heavy on slice of life, and it isn't entirely overarching-plot-driven. Expect characters to live their lives, and not always be on some quest to save the world. There's a lot of magic theory and discussion about it in the story. So, if you don't like impromptu lessons on sorcerous theory by traveling monster slayers, this might not be for you. But if you do like it, rejoice! For there is a lot of it. This is also heavy on prose, purple as a bruised eye. I use outdated, uneccesarily collegiate-level terms and play around with the writing style just for the heck of it. I find it fun to wax and wane poetic, and that might grate on you—I don’t plan to change this aspect of the Paths much if at all. Onto the viewer discretion is advised parts: This is grim-dark/ grim-heart. Take the tags seriously. There will be combat scenes that are brutal and horrifying. Fights to the death tend to be. This is a tale about medieval mercenaries (quite literal killers for hire), man-eating monsters, and eldritch gods beyond the material plane. Beside that, there will be traumatic events that are best left unread. I do not detail certain acts I find heinous enough, instead leaving some parts unwritten but still alludded to if not outright stated; there is simply no graphic narration thereof. This is not for the faint of heart.
