Night came quickly, and Jonas and Hugh snuck into The Bean Coffee shop. The cafe was quite large but had a cozy atmosphere. It had dark wood floors and tables, and walls lined with books. The chairs mismatched, but worked well with the decor. In the back was a stage with an upright piano.

They found a loveseat in a corner that had a good view of the stage, but was in a darker area to help hide their identities. Their faces were pretty well known for St. Vincent's students and the Bean Cafe was on the edge of what they called their territory.

Hugh wore a loose fitting sweater and a beanie hiding his silver hair. Jonas was wearing a loose long sleeve shirt, a baseball cap and his old glasses. Both were covering their tattoos that represented that they were Kings and tried to blend in.

Hugh was leaning against Jonas' arm and was sipping on his latte. "This place isn't bad. We should come here again."

"You do realize we're not in the best area for Hawkings." Jonas said quietly.

Hugh shrugged. "Yeah, but do you see anyone that can actually take us in a fight? Where's your sense of fun?"

Jonas took a sip of his coffee and shook his head. He found it humorous that they both had already analyzed the room to find possible threats. But they were the best fighters at Hawkings, and not many could compete with them. "Are you telling me you want another date?"

"Only if you ask nicely."

Jonas brought his head closer to Hugh. "But do you really want our next date to be in the same place, babe?"

Hugh grinned. "You have a point. How about you join me for a family dinner tomorrow."

Jonas raised an eyebrow. "Meeting the parents? Already?"

Hugh groaned. "It's going to be terrible! You have to save me!"

"I feel like I have been tricked...I dont really get along with parents." He looked at Hugh's distressed face and sighed. "I suppose I can join."

Hugh grinned and leaned over and kissed his cheek. "Thanks sweetheart."

Jonas froze with the sensation, like it burned his cheek. But he also couldn't help but to think that those lips were incredibly soft.

Jonas took some time to process what happened and for his heart to stop pounding. He was going to give him a smartass remark but stopped when a younger kid in a St. Vincent's sweater come into the cafe. He had a huge a grin and a couple of friends surrounding him.

"Holy shit, he looks just like you. Just nerdier, and not as pissed off." Hugh whispered which got a chuckle from Jonas.

"Actually, that's exactly what I used to look like my Sophomore year. Except my hair was longer and I had a little bit more muscle."

"That's adorable." Hugh said, trying to imagine it. "But I like how you are now."

They both leaned back, and Jonas moved his arm so it draped around Hugh's shoulders and continued to drink his coffee. His eyes never leaving his younger brother. He tried to keep straight faced while his heart was racing uncontrollably being so close to Hugh, especially when he nestled his head in the crook of his arm. They stayed in this position as they watched his brother play jazz piano for about an hour.

When he was done, they clapped loudly with the cafe, Jonas with a proud smile on his face. During any breaks of his performance, Jonas would lean over to Hugh and tell him stories about him and his brother, showing how close they were.

Hugh grinned and leaned close to Jonas. "Go to the front and I will give your brother a message." He knew that they didn't talk often, not even though even text, but the feelings were there.

Jonas hesitated but Hugh wouldn't budge. Jonas sighed. "Tell him 'It was the best performance as of yet, baby brother'. But Hugh, be careful. We dont want to start too much shit here."

Hugh pushed him away. "I am the most careful person you'll ever know." This was a statement that made Jonas cringed. Last time he said something along those lines, he broke the basketball hoop at school and they got chased out by the teachers.

Jonas shook his head and stealthily made his way to the front and waited. On the other side, Hugh walked nonchalantly towards the stage near Eli. Jonas sighed because you just could not hide the confidence and air of a long term King like Hugh. He already received the attention of most of the cafe.

Eli watched the intimidating figure approach and tried to take a step back, but Hugh had long strides and had already reached him before he could retreat.

He bent down to reach Eli's ear and lowered his voice. "A friend of mine said 'this is the best performance as of yet, baby brother'." A gasp escaped Eli and he started to smile. He gave Hugh an appreciative nod.

Jonas watched the interaction and the corner of his lips curled up a little. When Hugh started to make his way towards him, he pushed off of the wall he was leaning on to get ready to meet him. But at that time, a dozen St. Vincent's students came into the cafe. Jonas raised an eyebrow because some of them were kids he hadn't seen before. He didn't think there would be many transfer students, but he could see that half of the group was new.

Jonas tensed a little when Hugh and the group were crossing paths. Of course, the beefy St. Vincent's student had to shoulder check Hugh. But the kid didn't expect that he would be the one who was pushed back.

Hugh gave him a grin. "Excuse me."

The beefy kid reached out and grabbed the collar of his shirt. "Watch where you're going asshole."

Hugh shrugged and kept smiling. "That's why I said 'excuse me'. Manners and shit like that."

Jonas sighed and started to make his way over and cursed when the kid ripped off the beanie from Hugh's head revealing the unique silver hair.

Half of the cafe gasped and started to back away, knowing exactly who he was. Mad Dog was a King your ran from.

"You sure you want to start this?" Hugh asked.

"You shouldn't have gotten in my way, fuckboy." The kid snarled.

Hugh chuckled at the insult. He pulled up his sleeves, and ran his hands through his hair, which gave everyone a look at his crown tattoo.

One of the other kids tried pulling the beefy kid away. "Eric, he's Mad Dog. He's the worst King in Hawkings."

Eric laughed. "I don't give a shit who he is. He's by himself right now."

Jonas pulled his hat down low, letting the low lighting in the cafe help cover his face. But he pushed up his sleeves, exposing his crown tattoo. He wrapped his arm around Eric's shoulders. "You sure about that?" His voice was cold and deep.

Eli looked at the new figure with a wave of happiness. The new person who approached was hiding his face, but Eli knew exactly who he was. Eli masked his emotions, but his eyes were dancing with excitement of seeing his big brother. Not only did he get to see him, but his big brother came to one of his performances.

Jonas looked up a little and caught Eli's eyes. He gave him a subtle wink.

While the brothers enjoyed the small moment, Eric was shaking with anger that someone would touch him so causally. He glared at the hand but his breath hitched when saw the crown tattooed on the wrist.

While he was distracted, Hugh grabbed Eric's arm that was holding him and twisted it roughly, making him let go of Hugh's shirt. Hugh stepped away and gave a little laugh.

Eli cautiously called out. "Eric, how about we just leave it."

Eric turned on Eli. "How about you shut up and just put on your gay show, piano boy."

Hugh sighed. "Shit. Murder was not part of the plan tonight, but I guess we're improvising."

Jonas tightened his grip around Eric's shoulders. A tremor of rage ran through his body, and Eric shrunk back a little feeling something ominous.

"You like shows?" Jonas asked. "How about a magic show. I'll make the lights go out without moving from this spot."

Eric was about to ask what he meant, but Jonas already grabbed the back of his head. "Abracadabra, motherfucker."

He slammed Eric's head on the table nearby. Eric went limp and fell to the ground unconscious.

The cafe was completely silent and people tried to pull back more, blending into the wall. Hugh looked around with a wide grin. "Tada!"

Jonas stifled a laugh because it sounded so ridiculous in the silent cafe.

He turned towards Eli. "I liked the piano, hate the sweater." He pointed to the St. Vincent's emblem, then grabbed Hugh and quickly made his way out the door.

Eli held in his grin as he watched his brother and friend walk away while exchanging banter. Awe filled him because his brother was now one of the legendary Kings of Hawkings, and friends with Mad Dog.

"You seriously said 'Tada'. Ta - fucking - da."

"I thought it was fitting with the abracadabra shit."

Hugh and Jonas were both laughing as they walked out the door and took off on the motorcycle before anyone followed them.
