《Broken Until You》Chapter 25 - Ofcourse, We're Roomates

Ahh, the first day of winter break.
Since the day I heard about the chance to go to New York for the break, I've been overly excited. With my suitcase in one hand and my plane ticket and ID in the other, I was ready to go.
"Aren't you excited Ruby?!" I exclaimed as we boarded the bus that was going to drive us to the airport. The bus was able to hold six seats in each row, three on the left side and three on the right side, so I sat with Lila and Ruby.
"Hell yes! This is going to be the best two weeks ever. We are going to visit every place we possibly can!!"
"Don't forget the night clubs!" Lila chimed in.
Ruby and I both looked at her with straight faces. "We aren't old enough and plus we would get in serious trouble with the teachers for even walking near one." Ruby stated.
Lila crossed her arms over her chest and frowned, "hmph, you both are no fun!"
I held my arms up in surrender, "hey Ruby said it not me."
For a minute more or so the three of us continued to squeal in excitement until the bus driver spoke.
"Is that everyone?"
My history teacher, Mr. Evans, scanned the clipboard with each students' name that is going on the trip. "Yeah I think that's everyon-''
"Wait!" someone yelled from outside the bus.
Everyone looked to see who it was.
Ryder boarded the bus, "I'm the last one."
Of course. Of course it had to be HIM!!
This whole trip was to get away from my father and to take some time away from Ryder and think about my feelings and all that crap.
But now that he's here...ugh.
My whole plan, ruined.
"I thought you said you weren't coming!" I muttered to him as he walked passed my row.
He winked, "change of plans!"
I sunk into my seat and groaned. Why is he even here? To make my life miserable? Proabably.
Thank you life for becoming even more challenging than before. I really appreciate it.
***
Finally after one hour of going through security and three hours of waiting, we were finally able to board the plane.
Like the bus ride, I was able to sit with Ruby and Lila and Ryder sat with Grace and her boyfriend, Jake.
There's really no need to explain the plane ride. All I did was watch movies, listen to music, and sleep.
After we landed and got our bags we drove to our hotel which was located in Times Square.

As I looked out the window of the bus, I was able to see all the busiling people trying to get to their destination. The windows were open a little so I could smell all certain types of street foods. Everywhere you looked there were gigantic skyscrapers, some taller than others.
After a long bus ride we finally made it to our hotel. As my feet hit the pavement, I let out a huge gasp.
The hotel from the outside was super fancy. It had a red carpet leading to the lobby entrance. Golden poles were planted along on either side of the carpet so no commoners could step on it. Two body gaurds stood on either side of the golden railings.
But the inside of the hotel was even better.
Right when you walk in, you are welcomed by the fresh scent of vanilla bean and roses. On the ceiling was a huge crystal chandelier that made the whole room shine with light. On the right of the room was the front desk to check in. Some couches and chairs were set up as a lounging or waiting area. Every employee was dressed fancy: all the men wore black suits and all the women wore black knee-high dresses with nice flats. There were two long white marble staircases in the middle of the lobby. Up the stairs were the elevators and a nice resturant.
Suddenly, I felt rich. Like really rich.
Leaning over to Lila, I whispered, "Are we in the correct hotel?"
She giggled, "Yeah I believe so."
"Ok class," Mr. Evans cleared his throat, "I will give you a key that is assigned to your room. You will have to share a room with one other person."
Great. Just great.
Mr. Evans handed everyone one of those plastic key cards that you slide into the slot then once you pull it out, above the slot it turns green, allowing you to get in.
"Please no switching cards with anyone, these aren't some Pokémon cards you can just trade. Since it's late, we will meet here tomorrow morning at 9:30am. If you are not here, then we leave without you. Understood?"
The class nodded.
"Good," our teacher said, satisfied. "Now go find your rooms and the curfew is 11:00pm."
Everyone went their separate ways in search of their rooms. As I was walking up the stairs I managed to loose Grace and the girls so I decided to just find my room on my own. Based on how many kids came on the trip, there's no chance I would get partnered with any of my friends so I stopped getting my hopes up.

There were 10 floors in this hotel but my room was on the 8th. The hallway on floor 8th was very bright which made me feel safer. The velvet carpet floor was rose red and the walls were painted white. Different abstract paintings hung from the walls and roses in glass jars stood on either side of the elevators. Every three rooms or so there was a tiny chandelier hanging from the ceiling.
"5787, 5788, 5789...5790! Finally I found my room number."
I pulled the key out of my pocket and stared at it. "Now how do I do this?"
"Need help?" Someone asked to my right and I turned to face them and shrieked from their sudden voice.
Oh no. Oh no no no no no no NOOOO!
To my right stood — to no ones suprise — Ryder.
"W-what are you doing here?" I stammered in confusion.
"Well 5790 is my room, silly!"
I sighed. Typical. Ofcourse the one time I need to get away from him in order to process my thoughts about him, he has to be every where I go.
"Open the door." I mumbled.
He lowered himself and held his hand behind his ear, "what? Couldn't hear that can you say it a little louder."
My glare stabbed daggers through his eyes. "You will sleep in the elevator I don't care."
Rolling his eyes, he shoved his hand in his pocket and pulled out his key. "Geez geez."
When he opened it, I shoved right passed him and gasped in astonishment.
Since our room is on one of the highest floors, we received a bigger room.
"This is literally the size of a penthouse." I said, mesmerized by our extravagant room.
"Yeah..." he agreed and I turned to look at him. The same astonishment and suprise I had on my face was now on his.
"Do we even have the right room? This seems more fancy than anything...like ever." I remarked as my feet carried me further into the room.
"Well the key card worked so," Ryder replied, slipped off his shoes, and hopped onto one of the beds. "This beds mine!" He claimed in triumph.
I put my suitcase on the bed that Ryder was not occupying. "Well no shit. It's not like I would want the bed that your dirty gross self is on."
He probably said a sarcastic remark or something stupid but I blocked out his voice as I examined the room some more.
Each bed had white pillows positioned in a certain order and white comfy, clean sheets. Each bed had its own night stand and on the stand was a big lamp and a telephone incase you needed to call the lobby.
There were sliding glass doors that lead out to the balcony. No suprise, the balcony was huge. It was so huge that we had our own jacuzzi! The balcony floor was tiled and not concrete like most are. There were a couple chairs to sit down but I was only interested in the jacuzzi.
Besides the huge sliding glass doors, there were gigantic windows that were on the wall opposite of the beds, where the T.V. is. The view from our room was amazing. Even from bed you could see all the skyscrapers. Everyone on the streets looked like ants from our elevation.
The bathroom — thank god — had two sinks with automatic faucets. Based off its shine, the granite countertop looked like it had been cleaned to perfection so many times. There was a white tub that looked almost as big as the jacuzzi on the balcony. The shower had the type of shower head where the water pours from the ceiling, raining down on you. It was a walk in shower and it also had a bench. There was a toilet obviously but I don't need to get in to detail about that, right?
We even had our own kitchen which is fantastic because we can make our own breakfast before we join the others in the lobby at 9:30am.
"I can't wait to go in the jacuzzi!" I cheered, overly excited at something as simple as a big tub of hot water.
Ryder smirked. "Ooo you brought a bikini, I'd love to see that."
I rolled my eyes at him and pretended to gag, "eww you're a pervert."
All he did was shrug which seemed to piss me off even more.
"Do you need to shower?" I asked him as I unpacked my clothes and put them in the drawers.
His eyes were glued to the television screen as he flipped through channels, trying to find the basketball game. "No I did before the flight."
"Ok I'm going to take one. Don't come in."
"Wasn't planning to."
"Mhm sur-''
"Shh...shut up," he silenced me. "The basketball games on!!"
Closing the bathroom door, I laughed. Boys and their sports.
This will be fine. Living in a hotel room with Ryder will be a piece of cake- just me and him and absolutely no one else.
What could go wrong?
