"I've become so numb, I can't feel you there

Become so tired, so much more aware

I'm becoming this, all I want to do

Is be more like me

And be less like you."

Darkness engulfed me. It was the same kind of darkness one would have witnessed during a long sleep, or death. But surpringly, we never feel that darkness. Maybe because there are dreams and colourful motivations that kept us from observing this darkness.

That keep us from falling into the trap of it's calmness.

It felt good being like that. In oblivion, in emptiness, without any worry, without any fear. It was just me here. No one to bother me, no one to hurt me. I could float in this abyss of nothingness forever and ever.

But what would I achieve, nothing? What's a life without any accomplishments? What's a life without fears and failures? What's a life without an enemy and a weakness? What's a life without friends and strengths?

We wake up everyday to fight this world for a place in it, and we wake up everyday in anticipation of happiness.

So I had to wake up, I couldn't give up to this oblivion.

When I was 10, I remember, I had gotten into an accident. I had fought with my mom that day, gotten mad, sat on my tiny bicycle and went peddling down the lane to the woods.

Long story short, I had gotten into a collision with a bike and injured myself heavily. I remember having got a glass somewhere in my arm from the headlights of the bike and my father told me that it had to get operated otherwise it could cause an infection in my body.

He had given me a general anesthesia to lull my senses and make me go unconscious. I remember how relaxing that unconsciousness was.

It was different from all the times I had fainted otherwise.

Right now, I felt somewhat like how I felt during the anesthesia. This feeling is so addictive that I almost don't want to wake up.

But I forced my eyes to open up, but it took too much effort. They didn't want to wake up. My senses were dulled and my eyes refused to pick signals sent by my brain.

I tried again, and again till I felt like I was getting hold of my body. I felt like my struggle continued for hours, till the effects of the drug dulled away and my organs could take commands again.

My eyes fluttered open at last and disappointment filled my heart when I saw I was in some poorly lit, dark dungeon which smelled of bad water and death.

Why do dungeons always smell bad?

The only source of light in my room was the small window on top of a lateral wall that had been partially closed by metal rods.

Sunlight streamed into the room from there, making me wonder if this is as good as it gets, and it will be completely dark by night.

My eyes desperately looked around, to find someone, anyone to ask about what was happening.

My legs and arms were tied to a squeaky, old wooden chair, but my mouth was left open.

Maybe because they wanted me to call when I woke up myself.

But nothing left me mouth as I tried to grasp the concept that this was really happening. That I was really kidnapped. All my life, my parents have protected me from the evils of the dark werewolf world, and within weeks of their absence, I let this happen to myself?

How irresponsible and awful am I?

My eyes burned with unshed tears and my chest constricted in fear as I wonder why I had been taken. Or what they could do to me.

The over thinking made the foreign pain in my head to increase till it stung and I almost screamed in annoyance.

I remembered everything clearly, I was in my car when I crashed into a truck, causing my head to band the steering wheel. Thankfully the air bags prevented my body from crushing and acted as shock absorbers but still I had a huge gash on my forehead that caused me to pass out.

After that, what happened, I don't know. But what I do know is that my head isn't hurting enough to indicate a huge injury, so I must have healed due to quick werewolf healing.

My throat felt dry as sandpaper as I tried to utter something, so with great difficulty, I screamed, "HELP! Is anybody there? Help me please!"

What I thought was a scream, came of more as a raspy whisper because of dry throat and it hurt as hell.

I gulped, trying to get some saliva to moisten my mouth but the whisper must have been enough for them to understand that I had woken up, because I heard footsteps.

My heart beated away fast as I silently hoped for that person to be a helper. Maybe the evil ones had gone away for some work, and this one nice person will help me escape?

I knew it was wishful thinking and I was holding on to the fringes of hope, but that was all I could do.

Hope is toxic, I had established, but it was all I was left with.

My vulnerable eyes watched as a man dressed in all black entered the dungeon through metal rod gates which resembled police jails.

He wasn't as hunky and muscular as I had expected him to be. But then again, he doesn't have to be the head of this group or pack.

He watched me for a while and then exited the dungeon, to probably call his alpha. Soon, the sound of footsteps of a several people, instead of just one were heard and the door opened once again to reveal the same man, a rather large muscular man, a meek looking lady with glasses and another man dressed in black.

The two men, who seemed like the guards stood on the two sides of the large man who was looking at me with a frown on his face, yet a triumphant look in his eyes. And the lady took a position on the corner of the room.

His face wasn't very clear due to the lack of lighting. But his features seemed mature, yet malicious. He had a huge scar on his forehead, a scar on his cheek and a conspicuous cut right above this eye, telling me that he was a man who fought a lot. Battles or practice

I also noticed that all of them had a horrible, dead fish like smell associated with them, meaning they were rogues.

It is a clear cut distinction. Respectable Werewolves with packs smell pleasant, lone wolves smell like nothing and rogues smell atrocious.

I wanted to wrinkle my nose and turn my face around, but knew better than to insult them.

I was in their custody.

They could crush me like a piece of paper in seconds if they wanted to.

I had to act a bit smarter than that.

"Do you know why you're here?" He asked, as he walked forward. The sunlight fell directly on his face, exposing his red eyes with a brown Iris.

I almost shivered at the coldness in them, that made me feel instantly intimidated.

I was afraid. I won't lie. I had no idea what they could do to me. A thousand possibilities ran in my head, that scared me.

It took me a second or two to realise that he had asked question. I tried to speak but nothing came out of my mouth reminding me of my dry throat. Lifting my chin up I tried to beckon at the jar of water placed on the other side of the room.

His lips pursed in a thin line, telling me that he didn't like my demanding nature but nevertheless, he asked his guards to bring me the water.

"Give her the water." He said in a dry tone. I clasped my tied hands together, trying not to shake with fear as the guard brought me water.

I looked at the shiny surface of it, contemplating whether it was even okay to drink it. For all I know, it was poisoned. But then again, he had wanted to kill me, he would have already done that.

The guard freed my hands by untying the ropes and I rubbed my sore arms that were red and aching. I quietly drank my water and relished as it moistened every tissue of my throat. My glass of water was finished but I wanted more, sadly, I knew better than to ask for more.

"Do you know why you're here?" He asked, again. Impatience in his voice now.

"No," I replied honestly. "I have no idea."

"I hope you realize that you've been kidnapped and we aren't going to be nice," he said, a vicious smirk forming on the corner of my lips, making me shudder in disgust.

"I know." I said shortly.

"Don't act so innocent," he growled. That shocked me and I gasped, jumping back.

By jump, I mean, my upper body rose and I leaned back. My legs were tied.

"I-I didn't do anything. You might have gotten the wrong person," I tried to reason. Hoping, praying, he had actually gotten the wrong person.

"Don't lie," he growled again as he approached me with long strides and placed both his hands by the sides of my chair and leaned towards me.

The ugly smell was overpowering by now, but what disturbed me was the fear in my heart and the tiny voice in my head that told me that I wasn't going to make it and they were going to do horrible things to me.

I raked my mind, tried to find my wolf, but she wasn't there. She was gone.

Goosebumps rose in my arms and I broke a sweat at his proximity, because he terrified me.

"I want my gem. You have it." He said, a tiny threat tucked away in his voice as he looked straight into my eyes, intimidating me.

The word gem registered in my mind, confirming the question of them being the strongest rogue pack of them all, killing several packs, looking for some silly gem that gained them immortality.

"I don't have any gem." I whispered, trying to convince the truth to him.

I don't know how or why he got this idea, but he was wrong.

"You're lying again. Do you think we're fools! We know everything. Every single thing that happens in your school. When we hijacked your school, we hacked the security systems and now we get every single CCTV footage."

School? They've got information from school? But how? What was there in school that intrigued them and lead them to think I had any gem or information about it?

"Were only suspicious at first. Because Reece is quiet a playboy. But then, our doubts were cleared when our guards heard two girls gossiping about you two on their way home."

"You were in our territory?" I whispered, horrified at our terrible border patrol.

He smirked triumphantly, "Several times."

I gulped, an ugly feeling settling in my stomach. Telling me that my pack won't be able to help me in this. They think I am out to go to some other pack.

"So, are you going to give me any information, or do I need to resort to the other methods?" He said, backing off as he cracked his knuckles and looked at me with a warning gaze.

"I don't know anything." I repeated my words, though I knew they were no good.

This irritated him as his thin lips curled into a vicious snarl and he growled.

He tossed the small wooden table with water jar on top of in anger and grabbed my forearms, tightly.

His fingers dug into my flesh and he was hurting me. Just a little harsher and my bones will be crushed.

"You know everything. We know that are the Luna of The Mercy Wolf pack."
