“Ocean blue eyes looking in mine

I feel like I might sink and drown and die.”

A soft feather touch tingled my cheeks, making me smile in happiness. Sparks that rose up in my skin told me who it was.

Smiling, I snuggled my face into his neck and breathed in his intoxicating smell. He chuckled lightly and tightened his hold on my waist. Placing a feather kiss on my temple, he caressed my cheek with his thumb.

"Good morning, beautiful." He whispered, his morning voice sounding husky enough to make me shiver in pleasure.

I grumbled an incoherent reply and make no attempt to wake up.

He chuckled again. "Tired?"

I nodded, groaning and he kissed my temple again.

"It's okay, I'll bring my baby breakfast in bed."

I am tiiiireed," I complained as I sat on the bed after brushing. Chance laughed as he walked in.

He held a large tray of food in his hands and a large grin formed on my lips after seeing the food.

"You got me waffles!" I squealed exciedly on seeing the golden-brown yummy-ness laid on the plates in front of me with maple and chocolate syrup.

"Yeah," he breathed, smiling warmly at me. "I hope you like it?"

"I LOVE IT." I exclaimed, as I dig in my food.

"Nah nah," he shook his head and took the spoon from me, making me pout. "My baby is tired, I'll feed you."

My eyes softened and my stomach filled with warmth as he fed me lovingly. We talked about anything and everything as we spent our morning together, in each other's company.

"So," he began. "I was wondering if you'd like to go on another date with little ole' me?"

My eyes widened and I almost choked on the food at the sudden question.

Another date? Should I consider this as an apology for what happened yesterday? I mean, he was being pretty sweet but... I don't know.

"Sure," I smiled politely and I opened my mouth as he fed me another bite.

His grin widened and he flicked my nose, "Good!"

"So where are we going?" I asked, curiously as I slipped on my denim jacket while getting out of the door.

He looked at me and tsked his tongue. "I thought I made it clear last time, I don't tell where my dates are,"

I rolled my eyes. "Oh come on! It's not that big of a deal. That was the first date but now I am pretty sure you can tell me."

"Nope."

"No?"

"No."

"Pwease?"

"Don't give me those puppy eyes, Oli."

"Pwetty pwease?" I mumbled, pouting and giving him the best puppy look I could muster. He looked at me with a terrified look and averted his gaze.

"Oh my god, I am not even looking at you."

"But Channnceee,"

"Nope, I am not going to— okay fine! Fine! I'll tell you. Just stop giving me those eyes."

Grinning, I wiggled my eyebrows at him as he mock glared at me. Puppy eyes always work!

"So?" I urged him to speak and he sighed.

"Sometimes I feel like you hate me,"

"We are going to the city park to see the sunset," he finally told me and I abruptly stopped midstep in shock.

He walked a bit ahead without realizing that I was frozen. When he realized, he turned around to give my dramatic response a raised eyebrow.

"DID YOU SAY, WATCH THE SUNSET?" I asked, my voice filling with joy and excitement.

"I think I di— oosh!" He didn't get to complete his sentence as I literally pounced at him, tackling him into the biggest bear hug I could ever give.

"Thank you thank you thank you thank you," I hugged him tightly and he too, wrapped his arms around me, chuckling.

Kissing my head, he whispered. "I'm glad you liked it, sweetheart."

"How did you know?" I asked, pulling away lightly to look at his face. My arms still around his torso.

He smiled brightly at me. "A little Birdy told me."

I gave him a blank stare and smacked his arm. "Oh shut up!"

He laughed and entwined our fingers before kissing my hand. "I asked Katherine. She said it's your dream date. To watch a sunset with your special someone. So I thought, maybe I could be the 'special someone'?"

I mentally thanked Katherine, but made a mental note to hit her for never telling me about her conversations with Chance.

"Oh shush," I rolled my eyes, "You are special. But don't let that inflate your ego," I said poking his temple.

He guffawed in amusement and wrapped his hand around my waist as we started walking. "Too bad, too late."

Chance drove us to the edge of the park and we parked his SUV there. He opened the backseat to produce a basket filled with food and drinks as we settled on the fresh grass. We spread a small carpet on the grass, which compelled us to sit closer before of how tiny it was as we watched the sun set in front of our eyes.

My heart filled with warmth and my stomach burst into a million of butterflies when I noticed how much effort Chance was putting into this. Like I said before, if this was an apology, it was a good one.

His eyes shone bright in the changing colours of the sunset as the sky turned from yellow to purple-yellow to a neon orange and finally kept lightening as the sun escaped into the horizon.

His hair were messily tousled as usual and they looked perfect like always, he had an effortless grin on his face, that never seemed to go and it swelled my heart to think that I was the reason for the smile.

"This is so beautiful," I breathed out as I witnessed the sky changing colours. It astonished me that this happened everyday. The sun sets everyday, but we never have the time to just sit and stare.

"Yes, so beautiful." He whispered, looking at me and I blushed, wondering whether he was talking about me or the sunset.

Nah, he must be talking about the sunset.

"20 questions," he said.

"You want to play 20 questions?" I asked, turning to look at him. The sun had set by now and we were halfway through our meal.

"Yup. I want to know more about you. I hope that the next time I take you out, I don't have ask Katherine to know what you'd want. I want to know you well enough to be able to tell what you like and what you don't. You are my mate, I should know you the best."

"Isn't that the best friend's job?" I asked, teasingly.

He frowned and shook his head defiantly. "Nope. My job."

I laughed. "Okay."

"So first, I start?" He asked and I nodded my head.

"Okay so hmm... favourite colour? I know this is typical, but let's start with basics."

"Purple." I said, smiling at him.

"Mine is blue," he told me.

"Favourite movie of all time?" I asked.

He seemed thoughtful as he answered. "Urm, I can't decide..."

"Is it a Disney movie? Maybe, Frozen?" I said with a straight face but I was actually teasing him

He mocked glared at me. "Oh shut up! Maybe, Remember The Titans. Not sure."

"Okay, mine is the Notting Hill."

"Why?" He asked, probably shocked.

I shrugged, "I don't know, just reminds me that we find love in the most unexpected places of all."

Smiling warmly at me, he asked the next question and we kept questioning back and forth till I was pretty sure we'd gone beyond 20 questions.

The night fell and it was getting late so we decided to head to the pack house.

I was getting up to go but he suddenly clasped my hand and pulled me towards him.

Placing a chaste kiss on my lips, he whispered. "Can I ask your something, love?"

My heart fluttered at the endearment and I nodded my head, enchanted.

"I know this may seem stupid, and like, you are my mate so this kinda makes no sense, and we've also been one a few dates but—"

"To the point, Chance." I said, chuckling at him as he gave me a thankful look.

"Will you be my girlfriend, Olivia?" He asked, his blue-grey eyes looking at me with anticipation and nervousness as my breathe got caught in my throat.
