《The Beta's Unwanted Mate | ✔️ Complete》27 | voodoo doll

"Tell me where you're hiding your voodoo doll 'cause I can't control myself
I don't wanna stay, wanna run away but I'm trapped under your spell.
And it hurts in my head and my heart and my chest
And I'm having trouble catching my breath
Won't you please stop loving me to death?"
"Chance!" I growled lowly. My eyes turn towards him and I glare at his hand which was raised in the air to throw another chunk of eraser at me.
His expression turned into a deer caught on headlights one when he saw me looking at him and he grinned sheepishly, wearing a mask of innocence.
My glare faltered at his expression but I maintained my demeanour and kept throwing daggers at him through my eyes.
I ruffled my hair to get rid of all the chunks of rubber and from the corner of my eyes, I saw Chance pouting like a baby.
I rolled my eyes and concentrated on what my teacher was trying to say. I quickly drew the stress-strain graph of elsatromers on my notebook when another chunk of rubber came flying and hit me on my cheek.
A growl almost escaped my lips but I held it back and continued to ignore him.
"Pssst Oli," he whispered, poking my waist which made me hiss at him.
I threw him a look that said behave. He pouted again and I let out a snort.
"Are you ignoring me?" He whispered again, looking at me with big doe like eyes.
His blue-grey orbs shone as the sunlight from the window fell on my face and my breathe hitched at how beautiful he is.
Ignoring him would be a lot more easy had he been ugly.
Too bad...
"No." I lied as I scribbled on my notebook. The teacher had stopped teaching and given us time for 'self study'. And even if I am sort of a nerd- I'd never study in the class on my own.
I mean, who does that anyway?
"Then why are you not talking to me?"
"Because," I said.
"Because....?"
"Just because." I said, shrugged my shoulders.
He gave me a blank stare and I grinned, trying not to laugh out loud.
"Olivia..." He said in a threatening tone but I gave him a teasing smirk.

"Yes?" I said, putting a hand on his arm flirtingly.
He looked at my hand and raised his eyebrow as if challenging me. But the way his eyes darkened a bit didn't go unnoticed by me.
I grinned a Cheshire grin and he sighed dramatically.
"You know what? Since you are obviously not talking to me, I might as well just keep this thing I got for you..." He muttered dramatically as he produced a huge chocolate bar from his jacket's pocket.
My eyes zeroed on the Hershey's bar and my mouth watered.
Chocolate turns me on more than abs.
I have issues...
I gulped, "You have chocolate!" I screeched, reaching out to snatch it.
I literally lunged for the chocolate, almost jumping on him, but he dodged at the end moment. He raised his hand up so I won't reach it.
Even when we were sitting I was shorter than him and I hated it.
I pouted, pulling away and gave him the best puppy eyes I could.
"Yeah," he sighed again, "I bought it for my date...but she is ignoring me... I can't waste it so I'll just eat it myself..."
I looked at the bar and then at him, pleadingly. The puppy eyes I was giving him seemed to work as his demeanor shook a bit and his eyes turned hesitant.
"Can she do anything to mend it?" I whispered, wary of the teacher.
A smirk took over his expressions and he leaned in to whisper in my ear and brushed his lips against my ear as he spoke.
"A promise to tell me drive her home and a kiss can do the job."
I gasped even before I could stop myself and my face burned in embarrassment. I hate how easy it is to make me blush.
He leaned back and winked at me. I turned even more red if possible.
So much for keeping it from the teacher.
"So should I seal the deal?" He questioned, his fingers threatening to tear open my chocolate.
My eyes narrowed at him and I growled, snatching my chocolate from him.
"Mine!"
I teared the wrapper and hungrily ate a bite. The sweet flavour of the chocolate melted in my mouth and I almost moaned at how good it was.

If Willy Wonka was real... I'd threaten him to adopt me.
I ate another bite of the sugary goodness. Not realizing what I had got upon myself till a voice whispered in my ear.
"Don't forget about the kiss." He whispered, and I froze.
Shit.
Yeah I know what you are thinking.
We have kissed before, no big deal. I shouldn't freak about something so petty.
BUT THAT WAS DIFFERENT!
That was just because of my heat that we did it. But now it will be different. It will be because we really do like each other, right?
Plus I won't be blinded with lust.
I looked at the empty Chocolate wrapper in my hand and groaned. I shouldn't have been greedy for chocolate.
But then again, whom am I kidding? If I ever get into the same situation, I'll do the same all over again.
"So," Katherine said, sliding beside me in the canteen. She had a grin way too big on her face and it looked almost painful.
I gave her a creeped out glance and went back to nibbling on my sandwich.
Yeah, I am eating again. Sue me.
Katherine swiftly stole a chip out of my plate and stuffed in into her mouth making me glare at her.
I am more possessive about my food that a new born baby's mother who feeds it only organic food.
"Are you excited about the date?" She gushed, looking at me with shining eyes.
Did I mention Katherine had helped chance to prepare for the proposal? She and him are apparently great friends because they've been living in the same house since diaper days. So when chance got to know about it, he immediately contacted her and told her everything.
After getting a few punches and swear words from Katherine, he finally convinced her to help him, and voila!
"It's just a date, Kat. No need to get your panties in a bunch," I said gruffly, ignoring the butterflies that ignited in my stomach at the mention of the date.
"But it's TONIGHT!" She squealed. "It was so cute that he couldn't even wait for a few days to take you out."
"Yeah maybe because he wasted too many days already!" I said all of the sudden.
My eyes widened as I saw Kat's face fall and she gave me a sad look.
"No, I mean-" I started.
"No, Oli, shhh..." She said, putting a hand over my mouth. "It is my fault. How could have I expected you to forgive him after what he did? I should have understood it won't be easy for you. You're so strong though. Giving yourself and him another opportunity. I am proud of you."
She kept her hand over mine and squeezed it in reassurance. "I know you are wary rightnow, sweetie. I would have been too. But just trust me on this, okay? I have known Chance for my entire life and I know him enough to tell you that he is a nice person. Inside that bad boy facade is a lovely heart and you can trust him."
I nodded and sighed. "I am trying."
I really was.
I twirled in front of the mirror in my black dress that I'll be wearing tonight and smiled at my reflection.
I didn't make it too much. I did some basic makeup that included a halo bronze eye and a winged eyeliner. Some highlighter on my inner corners of the eyes, my cheekbones and the tip of my nose. I bronzed up my contour areas a bit and lastly added some nude lipstick to finish off the look.
Katherine had curled my hair a bit at the ends giving them extra bounce and volume.
The girl who smiled back at me in the mirror looked gorgeous and happy.
She smiled when I smiled and my heart sore in happiness that I was finally getting a chance with my mate.
After the conversation with Katherine in the canteen, I realized that I have not completely forgiven him and some wounds were still there.
My acceptance was just a plea for him to come and heal me. Because him and I both know only he could do it.
I looked at my reflection as I added some loop earring and I knew that I was making a right decision. I deserved a chance of happiness.
We might not be perfect, and I might still be wary of him- but that made us what we are.
