I felt my heart physically stop when those words left that man's lips. I wanted to cry out in pure joy and excitement, but I also didn't want to get my hopes up. I wouldn't be able to cope with another dead lead.

Gabriel's voice echoed through the pack mind link, breaking me from my thoughts. 'All pack warriors and trackers are to meet me outside my home in ten minutes.'

Dan and Eli were in the office within minutes, both ready and prepared. Gabriel had provided them with more information and him and the guys were extracting all the information they needed from the tracker who had discovered Kennedy's location.

Gabriel and Jayden were both scanning through maps on Gabriel's desk with Jayden pinpointing Kennedy's exact location. "Me along with Kellan had both caught a scent from a rogue, we decided to follow it on a hunch. Turned out he was a member of Marcus's rogue pack. It led to an abandoned warehouse a few towns away, it is three hours from here."

"How sure are you that Kennedy is there?" Gabriel questioned, his eyes scanning Jayden's.

"One hundred percent Alpha, her scent and presence were there." Jayden replied strongly and firmly. "Kellan is still there; he is keeping watch on the warehouse from a safe distance. For some reason I was unable to communicate through our pack mind link, we noticed the presence of a spell. He seems to be hiding amongst witch territory."

Gabriel nodded and continued to query him for a few minutes before Dan notified Gabriel of our pack wolves waiting outside, they were all waiting for his command. "Everyone is ready and prepared when you are Gabriel."

Gabriel nodded then looked at Eli. "I need you to contact Blood Walkers and notify them. It would be helpful if we had their backing on this one. Reed and Dylan reassured me of their help last week. Tell them we will meet them there." Gabriel ordered then headed towards the door as everyone began rushing around.

I followed them all closely as we reached the front yard of our house. Wolves filled the clearing, and I was elated with the amount of pack members that stood across from us, prepared to find our daughter.

I stood next to Gabriel as he approached the crowd, the packs attention on him as he spoke with authority and importance. There were around one hundred wolves with around thirty of them being women. All patiently waiting for their Alpha to speak.

"As you are all aware, my daughter has been taken –" A menacing growl rumbled from his throat as he mentioned the kidnapping of our daughter. "We have now located her in a warehouse a few hours away within witch territory. I am unable to secure or guarantee that you will return home or the outcome of what will happen once we get there."

Gabriel continued his speech, but I did not fully listen, I only focussed on our pack and their facial expressions. They were all determined to fight for Kennedy's safety and for their pack members.

Gabriel had been unable to plan the route or a strategy. He was going in blind; he was persistent on getting his daughter back and that was final.

He was not going risk Marcus and Nate moving around again, we knew where they were, and we were not going to leave it for any longer than necessary.

I felt nervous for the pack, I was their Luna, and I didn't want anyone to be injured or killed. But there was advantage with numbers especially against rogues and this was to take my daughter back.

"I am going to split us into two, one in cars and the other in wolf form. The route is mainly woodland, there are parts where you will need to shift back so everyone must be extremely cautious and conscientious that humans are around."

Gabriel split the group up, he made one half go with Eli and the other with Dan. He would be following Dan who was with the larger group that would be shifting.

I followed Eli to the parked vehicles, knowing that Gabriel wouldn't want me to shift and follow that group.

I had just managed to pull the passenger side door a jar when Gabriel's hand forced it shut, his presence known when my wolf stirred from the closeness.

"Where do you think you're going?"

I looked up to find Gabriel staring at me intently, slight anger looming within his eyes.

"Where do you think I'm going Gabriel? I'm getting in the car and going with you." I state, my comment slightly sarcastic. I could sense that he was not going to allow me to come with, whether I came by car or by shifting.

The look in his eyes confirmed my suspicions. "No Lara, you're staying here. I am not jeopardising your safety as well. I am not exposing you to risks, and I cannot focus on you while trying finding Kennedy. This is going to be a bloodbath and I don't want you in the middle of it."

"Gabriel, I'm going." I replied stubbornly.

"You're staying here, where you will be safe." He stated, his tone final and reeking of Alpha orders.

Defiant I shook my head at him, my eyebrows scrunching up in anger and frustration. "No Gabriel, she's my daughter too. I need to make sure she is safe."

"I will notify you immediately once I have found her Lara. You are not coming with me, you're staying here."

I growled darkly at him; the attention of a few wolves had Gabriel growling deeper causing their heads to turn away. "I am coming Gabriel and you're not going to stop me."

Gabriel stared at me for a second before his hands grabbed my hips, lifting me into his arms as he walked towards the house. I fussed and wiggled within his arms but to no avail. His grip and strength were too powerful for me to overcome.

"Put me down Gabriel." I snarled, agitated by his response. He continued to make his way up the stairs and into our bedroom, four pack wolves following closely behind.

I could already tell that he was going to keep me locked up within our bedroom with guards patrolling our bedroom door.

Once inside our bedroom, he closed the door and placed me on my feet.

"I'm not risking you Lara and if there is a possibility that you are pregnant then I refuse to put you in danger." His words took me aback along with his demanding tone.

I had not intended the next words to leave my mouth, but they slipped, and I couldn't take them back once they muttered against my lips. "I'm not pregnant, I took a test, and it came back negative."

Guilt filled my entire body at my deception, at the complete lies that I had told my mate. I was being selfish and narcissistic, not thinking about Gabriel or our unborn pup. Kennedy's face was all I could see in my mind; all I had been dreaming about and I needed to see her.

It was my fault that Nate had taken her, and I needed to fix it. I brought him into our lives, and I needed to be the one to take him out of it.

The likelihood of me being in danger was minimal, I would be surrounded by pack warriors and I was one myself. I had not trained as much in the past few months, but I was as strong as ever and I wouldn't run from a fight.

I would probably be within arm's reach of Gabriel.

Gabriel eyed me closely, he seemed warily of my words, slight distrust, and sadness within his tone. "Are you sure?"

"I took three tests Gabriel, I'm not pregnant." Lies continued to slip through and I didn't try to stop it. Neither me nor my wolf wanted to wait helplessly back here on pack land, she was with me on the decision.

We would be going with or without our mates decision.

"Just because you're not pregnant Lara does not mean you are coming with me." He said, moving away from me and towards the door, his back facing me.

The air in the room had changed, his wolfs presence suffocating me.

"You're not going and that's final." He stated before I could reply. His head had turned, his body still facing the door but his head to the side, looking back at me over his shoulder, his facial features clear along with the darkness of his eyes.

I shook my head at him, anger radiating off me as I walked towards him only for him to quickly leave the room, the door slamming behind him before I could get to it.

I reached for the door, but he had locked it, I could hear him from outside, he was ordering wolves to guard and protect me.

I allowed Gabriel to feel my anger towards him through our bond, but he blocked me out but not without promising to find our daughter.

I laid down on my bed, my mind racing, and I stayed like that for a little while. I knew Gabriel had not left yet; I had not felt the pull of him exiting the pack border.

The sound of the door unlocking had me up, racing towards it as I swung it open.

I found three bulky wolves standing either side of the door along with one facing me. They were all blocking my way, one of their hands reaching out to stop me from leaving the compounds of my bedroom.

"Excuse me." I gritted, trying to squeeze passed them, only for one to gently push me back.

"We're on strict instructions from the Alpha to keep you within your bedroom. If there is anything you need, we are more than happy to oblige." One of the guards informed, I recognised him as Caine from training, he was tall in stature and full of muscle.

"I am perfectly capable of getting myself my own essentials, thank you." I replied, anger seeping through, it was not directed at him, but I felt somewhat bitter that Gabriel was getting pack wolves to babysit me.

The sound of cars pulling away had caught my attention, they had begun to leave. To catch up with them I would have to get past the guards and any other pack wolf that surrounded the territory.

"I apologise Luna, but you must stay here." Caine replied adamantly. I glared at all three of them before slamming the door shut and banging my fist on the door.

I growled deeply as I stared at the floor, I needed to get out of here, I needed a way out.

I ran towards the window and opened it. Careful and conscious, it could not creak, or it would notify the guards. I looked down at the grass and took in the long drop. I also noted the beautiful fluorescent vines trailing down the side of the house attached to the brick.

I had to take that way down to protect the pup I was carrying. Subconsciously, I blocked them out because I was too focused on Kennedy. It was not because one was more important than the other, it was simply mother's instincts.

I tugged at the vines, pulling down hard with all my weight to check how strong they were. They were stable so I carefully made my way down until my feet landed safely on the ground.

Once my feet touched the grass, I raced towards the car park. A few vehicles were about to leave, and the others had a pretty good head start on me, but I knew the location of the witches territory well. I had been there with Dylan when we were younger, I knew a quicker route. I should catch up with them.

I rushed into the woods and shifted. Werewolves were able to shift during the first two months of pregnancy without harming the baby.

I followed my packs scent until I recognised a short cut that would get me to catch up with them.

My wolf was too antsy to enjoy the run like she would ordinarily have. We slowed down when I realised that my pack was a short distance away, they were a few miles ahead of me.

I had been running for hours when I got through the witches claimed territory, they did not patrol it like werewolves would. They simply had designated areas for their rituals and covens. Three different covens were situated amongst this land.

When I finally noticed an abandoned warehouse, I could hear growling and snarling of wolves. It was harsh in sound and intimidating; I hid behind a large tree, watching on as wolves ripped each other limb from limb.

Blood and body parts scattered across the ground, blood soaking into the grass and staining it a bright red. From the looks of it, our pack was winning although rogues were more ruthless with their movements and techniques.

All my focus had been on the fighting that I had not noticed that someone was standing three feet behind me. It was not until a cold hand was placed on my shoulder that my entire body froze, becoming incredibly tense.

I slowly turned around, my whole body moving as I looked into an amused pair of eyes, a deadly smile gracing his features as his eyes flickered between his human and his wolf. His menacing black eyes boring into mine.

"Hello Lara."

I shivered as he spoke my name with such delight, it was disturbing and unsettling. The callousness behind his voice was sinister and the huge smile that plastered his face turned into a smirk as he took a step towards me.

With every step he took, I took one backwards and it was not until my back hit a tree did real fright travel down my spine.

"And where do you think you're going?" Nate questioned, his voice taunting me as he kept approaching.
