《Vincent & Ezra》danger

I was sitting in the theatre room catching up on the bachelorette, snacking on my favorite cookies with Barbra.
'Barbra' was the name we had finally picked out for our cat, but she went by nicknames such as 'Barbie' and 'Barb', but Barbie fit her best because she was a total drama queen.
"Oh come on!" Vincent groaned, "She totally takes after her mother."
"You better be referring to her biological mother and not me." I replied as I give him a glare.
"She's a total drama queen just like you!" He laughed, "Both my girls are little drama queens, but I wouldn't have it any other way." He confirmed.
"Now you're just kissing ass." I deadpanned.
"No, but I will if you ask me nicely."
"Vincent." I scoffed.
"Okay, you don't even have to ask nice." He rolled his eyes, making a move to pull down my shorts.
Barbie was chilling on my chest when my phone rang, so I paused the movie and answered, "Hello?"
"It's Devin from the front gate. The pool maintenance crew is here and I was looking for confirmation to let them in."
Vincent never told me that the pool crew was coming today, so maybe it slipped his mind? He's been pretty busy lately since Lucas has been taking some time off in preparation for the baby that was due at any time.
"Did you try to call Vincent?" I asked.
"We did but he didn't answer."
"Maybe don't let them in." I decided.
Even if Vince forgot to tell me he hired their services, he could schedule for them to come out another day. It was better safe than sorry.
"Yes ma'am." He answered.
I got up from my reclined position and ventured to the kitchen to get myself a bottled water, and when I was passing the front windows a moving object caught my eye, and I saw a pool cleaning van pulling up the drive way.
"What the-?" I whispered as I moved to lock the front door, dialing the security office at the end of the drive way. It rung a couple of times but one was answering.
I saw the Van park as I pulled up Vincent's contact, and I saw three men in all black climb out of the van. I started running upstairs, scrambling to click on Vincent's number.
It rang a few times before he picked up, "Ezra baby I'm in a meeting, I'll call you in a little bit."
I didn't give him the chance to hang up, "Someone's in the house."
"Wait a second, what the fuck do you mean someone's in the house?"
"I saw a van driving down the drive way and I called down to security and no one's answering!" I whisper shouted into the phone, as I made my way into a spare bedroom.

"Ezra, baby you gotta hide, okay? I'm on my way, but you need to hide."
"I am." I cried. "I'm in a spare bedroom in the closet, but I hear them downstairs."
"I'm in my car, okay baby? I have other people meeting me there."
I heard loud footsteps make their way closer, and heard that they were checking random rooms.
"I hear someone coming, Vincent I have to go." I rushed out, hanging up the phone and turning it on silent.
I heard the rushed footsteps growing closer, and eventually they made their way inside the random bedroom I was hiding in.
I was peeking through the crack of the door, with my hand held over my mouth, willing myself to stop crying.
I was sitting in a meeting at work, listening to some shitbag explain why he needed several thousands of dollars to front for a business that I literally could not care about if I tried.
"If I could just get a baseline pay of half a million, I could have the front up and running narcotics by July and turning profits in August." He spoke, as Marchetti went to respond, but was interrupted by a phone ringing.
My phone rang in my pocket, and I had a feeling as to who it could be, which was odd because she hardly ever called me at work, "Everyone shut the fuck up." I demanded, and they immediately stop talking, "Ezra baby I'm in a meeting, I'll call you in a little bit." I tell her, and my heart drops as I hear her frantically whisper, "Someone's in the house."
I instantly stand to my feet, "Wait a second, what the fuck do you mean someone's in the house?"
Rushing to grab my keys, I motion for Lucas to follow me as he grabs his phone and calls for backup.
There is no way, right? The house is fully guarded.
She rushed out, "I saw a van driving down the drive way and I called down to security and no one's answering!"
She's starting to panic, I need her to calm down and hide.
Lucas and I got in my car, and I threw it in reserve speeding away from the building and toward my house, "Ezra, baby you gotta hide, okay? I'm on my way, but you need to hide."
"I am." she cried. "I'm in a spare bedroom in the closet, but I hear them downstairs."
I knew she needed to calm down and stop crying, so I tried to reassure her that I was only minutes away, "I'm in my car, okay baby? I have other people meeting me there."
"I hear someone coming. Vincent I have to go."
"No! Ezra don't-" I began, but was cut off. I tried calling her back and she didn't answer.

"Fucking shit!" I yell out, hitting the steering wheel, prompting Marchetti to speak, "Vince, focus, we'll be there in a few minutes, she needs you to be calm."
"She needs me there!" I yelled, "What if she doesn't have a few minutes?!"
"She'll be okay, the others will be there in a few minutes too. It'll be okay." He tried to comfort me, but my mind was racing with the thoughts of my little Ezra potentially being injured.
What should've been a 20 minute drive turned into 10 as we pulled into the driveway. The gate didn't open, so I threw the car in reserve and back in drive and rammed the suv through the gate, knocking it over in the process.
I looked inside the security room as I was passing and saw a few of our security guards lying on top of each other, surrounded by a pool of blood.
I pulled up to the house, and saw there was a few of our suv's behind me, making me sign in relief.
I got out of the car, not even bothering to shut the door. Marchetti had already filled in the backup security what had happened, and they listened intently on my instructions.
I made my way in, and several men followed behind me, sweeping the house as I made a beeline toward the steps, "Marchetti, with me." I ordered.
Ezra didn't specify what room she was in, which made it several times more difficult as we had to go through every single room, guessing.
I walk into one of the spare bedrooms closest to our room, and immediately make eye contact with Ezra, she was sitting on the floor with her hands bound behind her back, and a cloth wrapped around her mouth. Ezra tried to yell something at me, and I felt a jolting pain on the back of my neck, but not hard enough to to knock me out.
What the fuck?
I turn my head to my left and see a man who was about 50 pounds lighter, and several inches shorter than me, standing with a metal rod in his hand, looking as shocked as I looked mad, Fuckin' moron thought that would knock me out.
He tried to swing it again, and I caught it mid-air with one hand and yanked it from him.
Does he think this is a fuckin' movie?
Marchetti and a few random men grabbed a hold of the guy, and I made my way to Ezra as they secured the rest of the house.
I removed the cloth from over her mouth as she cried. In one swift movement I broke the zip ties that had her hands stuck together, and I ran my finger over the slightly raised and bleeding red skin, "Are you okay baby? Did they hurt you?"
She shook her head, and wrapped her arms around me as I stood with her in my arms, "How many people did you see?" I asked.
I needed to know how many people I was about to fuckin' kill.
"I saw three leave the van." She answered, as tears flooded her face, "Vincent I was so scared."
"I know baby, but you're okay now and you have to stop crying, your going to make yourself sick." I soothed, holding her impossibly close to me.
She was able to calm down after a minute, "Can you tell me what happened, sweetheart?"
She rubbed the tears from her eyes as I wiped her nose, "I was in the theater with Barbie and security called and asked if the pool cleaning crew was allowed to enter, and I asked if you gave them permission and they said you weren't answering, so I told them to not let anyone in." She sniffled again, taking a deep breath, "So I was walking to the fridge and I saw the van in the drive way and tried to call security but no one was answering."
Yeah because they are laying a pool of their own blood
"So then I called you when I went to hide. They found me and pulled me out of the closet and tied my hands and put that around my mouth. They talked about getting me to the van, but they needed something from your study first."
"What did they want?" I asked.
"I'm not sure. They didn't say much." She confirmed and I ran a hand down my face.
Marchetti was talking in the group, but he turned to face me, "Tony and Laurence found a man in your study snooping around. They are all in position and ready to be transferred." He spoke quickly and firmly, "What do you want to do, boss?"
We all knew they needed to be interrogated to find out who was behind this attack, even though I really just needed to confirm my suspicions. I also knew couldn't leave Ezra here alone, and I didn't know if we had a traitor in our security, and the fucking gate needed fixed.
What the fuck is even happening right now.
I took a moment to respond, trying to form an actual plan, "Take 'em all three to the shed. I'll follow behind in the car with Ezra."
Marchetti's eyes widened, "Sir, you're taking her to the shed?"
It's not like I fucking want too, but I need to know she's safe.
"I can't leave her here, I need her with me, she's going," I squeezed my wife in my arms while looking down, "Ezra, are you okay with that baby?"
She nodded her head, "it's fine."
Time to get some fuckin' answers.
