The next day, Casey came down to breakfast in a good mood, which faded away very quickly.

"What were you doing in the middle of the night in the gun storage room?"

Casey stiffened. So did I. They have what now? Who has a whole room for guns?

"How do you know about this?" Casey asked with uneasiness.

"It is monitored around the clock. We keep machine guns there, not toys "

Of course there are cameras as Casey was thinking. Casey started digging up the scrambled eggs. After a while she shrugged "I just couldn't sleep"

"You could go downstairs and turn on the TV, instead of snooping around the house that isn't yours" growled Remi.

"What kind of guest enters the rooms without asking?" Milo huffed in disgust. "You have no manners"

"It's as if she was raised with wolves" confirmed Remi.

After this exchange, Casey's face become red and I could see her biting her lips. She was desperately crying not to tear up but because she was failing, she ran upstairs without finishing her meal. I ran after her.

No one finished their meal that day.

"Casey, let's talk. Cas? "I opened the door to her room and saw the miserable sight of Casey crying at her bed. Well, technically it wasn't hers.

I came towards my poor sister and started rubbing her back in circular motions to calm her down.

"I don't want to be here," Casey sobbed into my shirt.

"Casey, I'm sorry. I didn't ask if you wanted to move, and I should have, "I hugged my sister tightly, not caring that I would be late for work.

"Eliana?"

"Hm?"

"I don't want to live here. Please"

"Okay. We're leaving" I said with heavy heart, but determined to fulfill Casey's wish.

"I don't want to go to school w-with them anymore"

"Casey, when you start skipping school, they'll take you away from me. You know CPS people has been watching us carefully since you got kicked out of school. Please go. You must go at least for now"

"But you promise we will leave this place, yes?"

"Give me a week to arrange something, but yeah. We will just move back to our old apartment. Everything will go back to normal"

I had to find a second job and a new apartment.

And come up with a new plan on how to stay alive.
