My heartbeat is increasing with every passing second as I await the waking up of the raven.

He fought for me. That's what was lingering in my mind. A witness who had a complete idea of the incident had told us about it. My bruises on the back were being treated. They stung and I hissed in pain.

"Please be careful" Jimin said to the nurse who was treating me

He then looked at me with a soft smile which I returned and then looked back to the unconscious figure. We were all very tensed about him.

"Thank you Y/N" Hoseok suddenly said

"For?" I asked confused as there was nothing to thank me about

"For protecting him. If you hadn't shielded him from the hits then his condition would have been worse" He explained and nodded in understanding

"You're welcome" I whispered and it was silent for awhile

Jimin came up to me and kneeled down before me.

"You...Feeling fine?" He asked akwardly

"Yeah...thank you for asking" I said again looking away

He nodded and then moved away. Everyone was silent and I went forward to the bed where he was laying. I bent forward and softly pressed a kiss on his forehead as tears ran down my eyes. I sat beside him and my eyes went to his bruised face and more tears sprung out.

"Thank you I guess..." I said to myself

"Don't say thank you Y/N. That's the least he could have done for you" Jin said and I shook my head

Suddenly we heard a groan as I felt movement beside me. My head jolted towards the figure in shock. I immediately stood up to get closer.

"Y-Y/N..." He whispered

"Yeah I am here" I said nonchalantly

He opened his eyes which potrayed nothing but tiredness. He slowly smiled at me trying to bring his hand up to touch my cheek.

"I am sorry love, you had to bear the pain for me again" He said in a husky voice

"No...it's not a problem. I am used to" I said in a whisper.

"Jungkook I think you can leave for today" Taehyung said

"Even you Y/N" He said looking at me.

"Jungkook you have a few people to thank" I said

Jungkook looked forward to see. Jin, Hoseok, Taehyung and.....Jimin. His eyes were stuck on Jimin who was looking at him with a very soft look.

"J-Jimin hyung?" He said and Jimin nodded

"Thank you guys..." Jungkook said looking at everyone who had helped him through the situation.

"You're welcome just don't do something so stupid ever again" Hoseok said

"Let's go" Jin said

Jungkook was trying to get up but his body felt weak so he fell back to the bed with a thud. Y/N looked at him and sighed. She went forward and assisted him in getting up. Jungkook looked at her with desperate eyes.

Jungkook was too heavy for Y/N so she was struggling. To Jungkook's surprise he was helped by Jimin. His lips parted in shock as he tried to say something but nothing came out. Jimin just silently helped him not uttering a single word.

"Take slow steps." Jimin said to Jungkook who was trying to hurry and Jungkook nodded understanding

Y/N walked behind them in amusement as she saw the chance of a reunion between the two ex-friends. Jin, Hoseok and Taehyung felt a sense of excitement seeing the two boys being so close to eachother.

They reached the parking lot and Jin opened the door for Jungkook to get in, which he did with Jimin's help. Jimin helped him in and settled him inside the car.

"Thanks.." Jungkook muttered

"You're welcome" Jimin said nodding

"Y/N get in" Taehyung said

Y/N looked hesitant at first but then Hoseok gave her an encouraging nod and she sat beside Jungkook in the car. Taehyung got into the driver seat

"We have a classes. Since you three are done go home. Your things are kept in the front seat" Hoseok said

"Okay...Thank you" Y/N replied receiving a nod of recognition

Taehyung started the car and they drove off. Y/N felt two pairs of brown eyes staring at her through the entire ride.

She just looked at the window as few thoughts passed through her mind. She needed to take the step. It was necessary for their own good.

Jungkook just kept on looking at Y/N with eyes filled with love and gratitude. This girl has been by his side for the past few years despite the constant abuse and neglecting. He was now willing to give her everything she deserves from now on but little did he know what awaited him.

In no time they reached the apartment. Taehyung dropped them off and started to return to the university dorm where he resided. Y/N carried Jungkook's things to help him walk freely. They got inside the elevator. Y/N remained silent trying to avoid contact while Jungkook continued to stare at her.

The elevator reached the 11th floor and they got out. Jungkook took out the keys and unlocked the door. Y/N entered behind the limping figure ahead of her. She placed all their things on the couch and helped him get to his bedroom.

They entered Jungkook's bedroom and Y/N made him sit on the bed.

"I will get you some water" She whispered going to the kitchen

Y/N's heart was beating. She had to do it. She knew it was necessary or else things would take a turn which they will not be able to solve.

She returned to the bedroom and handed over the glass of water to him. Jungkook took the glass and drank the water while looking at Y/N who was fiddling with her fingers.

He placed the water by the nightstand and looked at her again.

"How are your bruises?" He asked

"They are okay..." Y/N whispered

"Y/N I-" Jungkook was cut off

"You need to let me go" Y/N suddenly declared

"W-What?" Jungkook asked puzzled

A fear had taken over him that the next words that are to come out of her mouth won't be something he likes.

"We need to stop being around eachother. We cannot see eachother anymore" Y/N said tears running down her face

"No Y/N...what are you saying?" Jungkook said getting up panicked

"What I am saying is... it's time we say goodbye" Y/N said looking at him as he shook his head

"No...." Jungkook said shaking his head

"Yes Jungkook we need to.." She said

"No..No..Y/N I just got you back.. you can't leave again...we sorted things out right?" He said as tears streamed down his eyes

"Nothing is sorted out Jungkook...nothing is.." Y/N said

"Everything is jumbled up. I can't take it anymore. I have been hurt so much because of you that I don't even know what to feel anymore.." Y/N said

"I can't stay with you anymore... We can't stay anymore. This is not meant to be and every single incident is proof of that..." Y/N cried out

Jungkook suddenly bent down and held onto her legs. Y/N got startled at his actions as she tried to get him up.

"No...Y/N we can still fix this please try to understand I can't live without you...please let's fix this together" Jungkook said begging as he held onto the legs

Y/N came down to his level. Jungkook clasped his hands together as he looked down begging

"Please don't leave...please...I need you... Please Y/N" Jungkook said begging

Y/N almost gave in seeing his broken state. But she knew she had to stand her ground. Both of them needed time from eachother despite Jungkook not releasing that.

Y/N held his jaw with both her hands on the either side causing him look at her.

"Jungkook please understand. We need it. We need time to figure out our feelings. You cannot let your emotions jumble up the situation more than it is. It's a maze Jungkook, and we are going demented in it" Y/N said

"The scars between us will never fade but we have to make the pain less and this is the only way" She said attaching their foreheads

"Please understand my decision. I promise you things will get better for you. And if we see that it's not working out, then we can always come back right?" Y/N said as the crying Jungkook nodded.

"Then please let me do this..." Y/N begged

Jungkook cried harder. He could not accept the fact that he had to stay away from her for but deep down he knew they needed this. It was necessary. She deserved it after all he has done. He hugged her tight which Y/N responded to. He bought Y/N onto his lap as he leaned against the bedside burrying his face into her chest.

Y/N comforted him, considering it the last time before they fade away from eachother's lives. It was not easy for her either. Her heart ached at the thought that the person she yearned for so many years had to be left behind as the situation has taken an unknown twist. But she stood strong.

"I will come back to you if things don't work out...I promise" She whispered kissing his head as Jungkook let out a loud sob

"You will support me right?" She asked in a whisper..

"Always....Always..." Jungkook whispered holding onto her.

Y/N bought his head back to look at him. Tears were running down his eyes which were now bloodshot. His hair was a mess as he stared at her with desperate eyes. His cheeks and nose red from crying. Y/N placed a soft kiss on his forehead and then on his cheeks. Jungkook devoured the feeling. At last stop she looked at his lips before leaning in.

Her lips captured his as more tears flew down both their eyes. Their lips in sync as they tried to only devour eachother one last time before detachment. As they were both unaware when they shall reunite, that is if they ever. They parted from eachother as their hot breaths fanned their lips. Y/N caressed his hair and said

"Stay well Jungkook...don't get sick..." She said

"I love you...I love you so so much" He said crying before hugging her again.

"I love you too...I love you too" she whispered back

"But I have to leave now..." Y/N said

"No....." Jungkook whispered

"Please stay little longer please..." Jungkook begged

"I have to leave Jungkook" Y/N said desperately

"Five minutes...please just give minutes" Jungkook said

Y/N remained silent as they held onto eachother. They were both crying.

"Stay well Jungkook..." Y/N said getting up

"N-No.." Jungkook said frantically getting up

"Stop Please. We have too." She said sternly with with tears in her eyes

"Don't make his harder for me Jungkook...please.." She said looking broken.

Jungkook started to cry

"I love you...and I wish the best for you. Good luck" Y/N said pecking his lips before turning away to leave

"And if you find someone for yourself do tell me" Y/N said laughing lightly with her back to him

"Never.." Jungkook said sternly

"Bye..." She said leaving

Jungkook kept on calling her hoping she would reconsider her decision but he knew it was of no use. She had every right to leave. Jungkook fell on his knees crying. He heard the front door close and his heart broke. He sobbed loudly.

The door of his room opened but he couldn't be less bothered to check who it was. Suddenly he felt himself being pulled into someone's embrace. He looked up and to his shock it was

"J-Jimin hyung?" He asked

"It's okay.." Jimin said comforting

Jungkook cried feeling the warm embrace of the older. He thought of all the times how the older would comfort him this way when he was broken.

"She left hyung...she left" Jungkook said crying louder.

Jimin's heart stung at the vulnerability of the younger. He felt guilty for his actions in the past. But now he was more than willing to make up for it.

"She will be back Jungkook, she will be back"

Y/N opened the door to her house and ran into the room not considering who was in the house. She entered her room and broke down crying with a hand on her mouth covering it.

Her heart was broken. It has been crushed to several pieces. She cannot go back to him. This would break them even more. This is why she decided to do so.

The door creaked open with a worried Baekhyun coming in.

"Chubs what happ- why are you crying?" He asked seeing his vulnerable sister

Y/N couldn't take it anymore as she ran to hug her brother. She tightly embraced him as she cried in his chest. Baekhyun was worried and confused to why his sister was crying.

"Chubs whats wrong?" Baekhyun asked

Y/N did not reply and continued to cry. Baekhyun understood that it was best for her to calm down first then they could talk. So he just caressed her hair while she wept.

After Y/N calmed down, Baekhyun made her a glass of hot chocolate which she drank.

"Now tell me what happened" Baekhyun said

Y/N told him about all that happened and Baekhyun listened to it patiently.

"So I decided that we need to stay away from eachother, or else things will get more difficult for me" She completed

"Chubs are you sure you want to do this?" Baekhyun asked concerned

"Yes I am sure. I have too" Y/N said

Baekhyun nodded understanding.

"You will be fine right?" Baekhyun asked

"I will be there is no other way out"

The next day Y/N went to the university. She was dropped off by Baekhyun. She knew that from now on her days will be different. There will be an absence of a certain presence.

As she was walking through the university, she came across Jungkook. An electricity passed through both their bodies as their eyes connected which held unexplainable emotion.

As much as they wanted to run to eachother, brace eachother and comfort eachother. They knew they could not. Both looked away and passed by eachother heading in their own directions.

They both knew this was much needed. This is the only way to repair what was ruined by one of them.

This is the only option left to fix things right.

Y/N walked forward with a smile of hope on her face. A smile of determination.

Determination to live a better life.
