"I knew you saved me that day after I got stabbed you brought me to hospital and please don't lie, I know you have a big bird tattoo on your shoulder I saw it before I blacked out that day."

The moment the words left my lips I could see a wave of surprise in his eyes. His neck had beads of sweat.

Is he now regretting saving me?

"I just wanted to say thank you." I said, "if you hadn't brought me to hospital in time I would have died."

"I just wanted to tell you that I owe my life to you, and I must pay you back because you paid my hospital bill."

Before I could continue he held my shoulder and slightly push me into the wall, not hard enough to hit me but now he was very close to me.

"Why?" He asked in a low intimidating voice.

"I. I told you I just want to thank you... " he cut me again.

"Why did you got stabbed, do you remember how you got stabbed." He asked in a dominating tone still his hands on my shoulder.

The heat from his palms radiating into my body through my scrubs was annoyingly comforting.

"Y..yes, a man was c...coming to sta...stab you so I just tried to stop him from attacking you, but he accidentally stabbed me," I said

Accidentally stabbed. These words don't look good together Savanah.

His green orbs still looking at the stuttering mess he created. I dared to look at him in the eyes and god kill me for doing that, but I bit my lip.

He looked one good minute at my lips which made me stop myself from biting my lips.

My palms were sweating in a fist hat I created only to feel my nails digging in it.

Searching his face for any kind of emotional, guilt maybe for saving me...... Anger that this information is not confidential anymore.

Only to find his face having the most adorable smile which tells me he is neither regretting nor angry.

"Why did you save me." He asked as he removed his hands from my shoulder and step back to give me enough space to breathe.

Suddenly I missed the heat I missed the low oxygen level. The distance now he had given me was kind of disappointing.

"Why wouldn't I, anyone at my place would have done the same," I said.

"No Savanah you are wrong, no one would come in between and get stabbed in the back because they wanted to save a stranger, they would have pushed me out the sight, called me or screamed but no one would risk their life." He said in a low husky voice.

He is so not right, anyone who is a kind-hearted person would do the same to save a life.

"So, why did you got stabbed when you could have simply called me from across the street or push me but yet you took the stab." He demanded in a low husky voice.

Honestly speaking I don't know the answer to why I didn't call him when I could have easily run and held the attacker from behind.

But still, I just stood there in between when he was about to stab him.

"Your life is worth saving for," I said.

"And yours not." He asked immediately with furrowed brows and with eyes that held lots of questions.

"Everyone's life is worth saving for," I said and exhaled the breath which I held for a very long.

"Why didn't you refuse to tell me when I asked you have met before," I asked.

"I was ashamed, Savanah, I was ashamed that because of me you were in the hospital, I didn't want you to hate me." He said like a child asking not to punish him because couldn't finish his food.

"And I am also sorry that I lied to you when you called, I told my assistant to shut the phone because it was the wrong number I am sorry I hurt you." He said.

At this point, my eyes were getting blurred with the sudden gush of tears reaching the surface. I was crying.

Not because he told someone to rudely talk to me but because he was sorry for hurting me. No one ever said sorry to me for hurting me.

"Stop crying Savanah, I am so sorry." He said his words were genuine, like before saying every word he feels them so it wouldn't hurt me.

"I am not hating you and please don't be ashamed of something you couldn't control," I said.

"You saved me, Savanah, that day." He said.

I don't know what came over me but I just stood on my tiptoes and my hands automatically went to his neck and I hugged him.

At first, his body went stiff but after a few seconds, he embraced me in the hug.

His hands went around my back and his warmth hit my neck making the hair at the back of my neck stood up in attention.

The hug was warm, safe it made me feel complete. Afraid of the things that I started to feel. I broke the hug.

"I wanna say thank you once again, for what you did," I said while placing the check-in in his hands.

He quickly saw the check and his handsome face formed a scowl. He tore the check.

The tearing of the paper made my eyes go wide. Did he just oh my God, he actually tore the check.

"I am not going to take the money, Savanah." He said adamantly.

"But I have to pay you back," I said.

"You can." He shrugged while putting his hands into his pants pocket.

"How?" I asked.

"Be my friend and have dinner with me." He said.

This doesn't sound bad he just wants to be my friend and have a friendly dinner with me, I can work with that.

I quickly wipe my wet cheeks from the back of my hand and giggled.

"I will be your friend Leonardo," I said smiling while bringing forward by hand to have a handshake.

He gripped my hand with a firm grip and slightly pulled me towards himself and said." My friends call me Leo."

"Leo," I said. I liked his name, especially this one.

"What about dinner." He asked.

"absolutely but I will pay" I agreed I just don't like to spend other people's money on me.

He thought for a second but then he finally agreed, "fine."

And did I tell you I hate to eat food outside?

Not the outside food but eating with a lot of people around me makes me nervous, it feels like people are looking and judging you.

"Give me your mobile number I will text you the details." He said.

He gave me his phone and I saved my number with my name and on it.

"Once again thank you Leo for everything you did," I said.

"I didn't do anything Savanah you did all the things." He said

He smiled at me and his dimples were now looking cute on his face. I don't know how a person can be so hot and cute at the same time.

"Can't wait for the dinner." He said and I smiled sheepishly and started to walk out of the VIP area.

I went to the cafeteria and I found Jul, I told Jul about everything.

"So you have a dinner date, oh my God we need to go shopping it's your first date I am so excited," Jul screamed.

"Jul isn't a date it's just a thank you/payback dinner," I said.

"And he has a girlfriend," I said.

"Did he tell you?" She asked.

"No," I said.

"Did you see her," Jul asked?

"No," I said.

"Then who the fuck told you he had one." She asked.

"That man looks like a greek God, no way he has a girlfriend I am thinking not to go to dinner," I said

She looked at me with her vulture eyes, these eyes are only used by Jul when she is thinking the other person is stupid and she wants to gauge the brain out of them.

"What?" I said.

"You are an idiot... You should have seen the way he looked at you when he brought you in the hospital that day." She said

"He looked like a dog who couldn't find the stick and when you both entered the hospital room that day I was sure starting at his face but do you who he was starting at, it was you Sav," Jul said.

"First of all, it's rude to compare people with dogs and you are being crazy," I said.

"Whatever it's a date." She squealed.

"Whos got a date?" Maya asked, and instantly the smile on Jul's face turned into a scowl.

"None of your business Maya," Jul said while dragging me out of the cafeteria.

Well if Maya knows I have a date...gosh Savanah it's not a date, Jul is responsible for that.

Well if she knows I am going to just a simple dinner, she would make a fuss about it. An ugly fuss.

.................

It's 8 am now and I just signed Vanessa's discharge paper to give her discharge.

Entering her room I met with a smiling Vanessa and Mr Morello and Leo was sitting on the sofa smiling at them.

"Good morning," I said.

"Oh good morning dear, it indeed is a beautiful morning." Mr Morello said.

"So your discharged papers are done, ready to go back home," I asked Vanessa.

"Oh yes, dear." Mrs Morello said.

"And thank you for everything you did for us." Me Morello said.

"I told you Mr Morello it's my job," I said.

"Call me Ambrose dear." He said.

"Sure".

"Savannah 3 weeks from now we are hosting a charity ball, you must come with Leo as his date he never brings anyone anyway. It would be nice to have you there. Please I insist, please don't break my heart." Vanessa said while making the puppy dog eyes that Jo makes.

I saw her winking at Leo and Leo smiled and looked down at his shoes.

"Oh I wouldn't dare to break your heart Vanessa, but now I surely know why you and Johanna are friends. These eyes..." I said pointing at her and Vanessa smiled sheepishly.

Vanessa and Ambrose both smiled and started to move out of the hospital room. I liked both of them, so full of life, so happy and so much in love with each other.

"Hi Savanah, how have you been," Leo asked while showing me his teeth smile.

"Hi, Leo I am good," I said

Leo looked incredibly charming with denim jeans and a powder blue shirt.

"So I was thinking to ask you about your schedule, when are you gonna be free, you know before I make the reservation for the dinner," Leo asked a little bit bending towards me.

"Oh Monday is fine that's the only day in the week when my shift ends early," I said.

"Great! 4 days to go," Leo said.

"Yeah 4 days."

We both looked at each other in silence, the silence was sure unwanted but not awkward, it was comforting.

"You look beautiful today Savanah." Leo suddenly said.

For a minute I couldn't able to respond, did he just call me beautiful bloody hell my hair is oily and with a middle-parted bun.

"Forget it..... I... I just said that." Leo said.

"No no I am sorry it's just you took me by surprise and today was not the day I dressed up as beautiful," I said pointing towards my hair.

"You always look beautiful, no matter if your hair is oily or in a loose ponytail." He said.

He noticed he remembered, shut up you that's the only hairstyle you do in the hospital when your hair is not oily.

"Thank you," I said while preventing my cheeks to go blushing red.

"Great I will see you around," Leo said and left the room.

4 days to go, I wonder why I am looking forward to Monday.
