It's 9 in the morning and I just reached the hospital. Today is gonna be the most vigorous day of my life I have two surgeries with Dr William and Juliet.

After the surgeries, I have to go on rounds to see my patients.

Today Juliet will also accompany me to see Mrs Morello as she needs to get away from the paperwork William gave her.

"Hey Jul ready for the battle," I said.

"Oh don't talk to me today Sav, first I am very horny second I saw Maya third I threw away my coffee and fourth I have surgery with William," Juliet said.

Reaching the OT we both went for our surgeries.

Our surgeries just ended, it's 4 in the evening and we are just making our way out of the OT.

"Savannah, I guess your shift is ending at 10:00 pm I guess so do you wanna grab dinner after that." Dr William asked.

Oh my God, he is a 40-year-old man, for goodness sake and can't he think of his twins.

"No Dr William I have some other errands to run with Jul after that I think I couldn't accompany you. Sorry." I said.

"Moreover Dr William when did you start to stay the whole day in the hospital, I think today is the first time you have ever been in here more than 2 hours," Jul said.

"It's just.." Jul cut him off

"At 10 pm in the night, you wanna go have dinner with her, Dr William at this time you should be reading bedtime stories for your twin girls," Jul said.

Jul held my elbow and started dragging me to the corridors.

"What is wrong with you, he has the power to destroy our careers," I yelled.

"Oh trust me that pussy, won't he can't do that he likes you a lot and you like me so he will not do anything to both of us," Jul said.

"Common we have to go for rounds," Jul said.

"Okay meet me at the door of the VIP wing at 5 pm sharp they won't let you go inside without me," I said.

Completing the rounds I still had 20 minutes left so I went into the cafeteria to get Jul and me some coffee.

Coffee is the only thing these days that is barely keeping me alive.

Paying for the coffee I heard a familiar voice behind my back.

"Hello Savanah"

I turned to see someone yet similar but still couldn't know who he might be.

Looking him in the eyes, I identified the green eyes.

Leonardo.

He was wearing a white shirt and a dark navy blue coat, he must have returned from office.

"Oh hi Leonardo, I am sorry I barely recognised you," I said.

"yes I just shaved, my mom thinks I look ugly." He said.

"No you don't, you looked pretty good to me," I said.

"You never came to check up on mamma today," Leonardo asked me.

"I am sorry it's just I had two surgeries from 9 am I just got free at 4 and I went for rounds and at 5 I was coming to see Mrs Morello but I stopped to get some coffee for Jul and for myself who is gonna meet me there at Vip wing at 5 which is nearly 5 I have to go, now," I said.

"No problem, we can walk together if you like." He asked me.

Oh my God did he just ask me..... No, he didn't you stupid he has manners. You never act like this.

"Sure," I said.

"So how long are you gonna be in the hospital." He asked.

"My shifts end at 10 pm and I will be there in the morning to discharge Mrs Morello," I said.

"Good," he said I noticed from the corner of my eye looking at me, but I ignored maybe I am hallucinating.

I don't even have makeup on my fair and my hair are in a loose bun. He might be thinking I am looking like a ragged witch above the neck.

We soon reached the VIP wing, only to see Jul, not at the door but she was chatting with Connor I suppose.

"Hey Sav, this is Connor he let me in." Jul blushed while saying that.

The last time I saw Jul blushing and talking with a guy was 4 years back, oh no she is flirting with him.

He winked at her, oh no both are flirting with each other.

"I know, let's get in shall we Dr Gwen," I said strictly.

As I opened the door I was stunned to see Johanna and Carl there too.

"Hey, sugar plum." Johanna squealed.

"Hey Jo," I said still confused

"Vanessa told me you operated on her, you did a good job sugar plum. This baby here is my best friend. We both kinda lost touch when she went to med school." Jo said.

"Wait med school, I would have called you Dr Morello," I said.

"It's an okay sweetheart but please call me Vanessa." Mrs I mean Dr Morello said.

"Sure, Vanessa, oh I would like you to introduce Dr Gwen she is here for a study basis. I hope you wouldn't mind." I said.

I turned back to see Jul staring at Leonardo's face. All our heads turned to her she was still staring.

"Dr Gwen!" I yelled.

Suddenly her attention was on me.

"Are you okay," I asked.

"Ya I am, let's continue," Jul said.

I checked Vanessa's vitals all clear.

And told her about new changes in her diet.

"Is she gonna be alright now Dr." Mr Morello asked.

"She just has some little pain in the chest due to healing on stitches rest she will be fine," I said.

"Thank you Dr," Mr Morello said.

"No need Mr Morello it's my job," I said.

"We will leave thank you. Take care and I will meet you in the morning when you are to be discharged." I said.

As we exited the room Juliet turned to face me and said, "he is the one who brought you to hospital Sav."

"Who are you talking about," I asked.

"The man with whom you came in, Sav." "I saw him bringing you in the hospital that day." She said.

"Leonardo," I asked.

"Yes, Sav." She said.

"If that was the case he would have told me," I said.

"Ask chief." She said." He kept the details confidential, he knew who it was." She said.

"Okay"

I marched to the office of a chief in the deep thought was it Leonardo who saved me, but if it was he would have told me right.

As I reached the chief's office I saw him typing on his computer. He looked at me and gave me a warm smile.

"Come in Dr Savanah it's been a long time I have seen you. How are you doing these days?" Did he ask?

"I am good chief, I just wanted to ask you something," I asked.

I didn't want to keep this long and twisty so I decided to ask him in a full one breath.

"The man who brought me to the hospital when I was stabbed was it, Leonardo." The moment his name slipped from my lips there was a shift in the chief's face.

Which made me pretty sure, that I am right.

"Savanah, we already talked about this, it's confidential," Chief said.

"Chief I already know it so stop hiding it. Dr Gwen saw him bringing me to the hospital." I said.

"Stop chief I just only need to confirm it from you please don't hide it from me anymore," I said

"That man saved my life, I have to thank him and pay his money back," I said.

"Savanah why don't...." I cut him off. "Please chief don't."

He looked me in the eye for a good minute but when he understood I am not giving up he sighed and nodded his head which means a yes.

"Thank you chief," I said and left his office.

It was 7 in the evening and I walked into the VIP wing with carefully calculated steps.

Should I talk to him? damm yess Savanah that man paid your 2 weeks hospital bill plus he saved you and brought you to the hospital in time.

You will thank him. You owe him your life. Even if he asks you to jump off a cliff you bet your ass you will.

I reached Vanessa's room and quietly pushed the door.

Everyone went quiet.

Johanna and Carl must have left because there was only Mr Morello, Leonardo and Connor left in the room.

All of them looked at me with pleasant smiles.

"Good evening I am sorry to disturb you all but I just need a moment with your son Mrs Morello, if you allow," I asked

My guts were twisted panic was rising in my throat everyone seems to be shocked.

"Is everything okay with Vanessa?" Mr Morello asked.

I looked at Leonardo his face has emotions of both shock and amusement.

I hope he doesn't take it as a wrong signal. But I need to ask him he removed his blue coat and his white shirt sticking to his body is also giving me an opaque view of the tattoo on his shoulder.

Leonardo kept his hand in the small of my back and led me outside of the room.

I immediately turned and bumped into him, my lips parted to say something but I couldn't hear my voice come out.

"So..Sorry," I said. He was gonna say something but I cut him off before he could say anything and said.

"I knew you saved me that day after I got stabbed you brought me to hospital and please don't lie, I know you have a big bird tattoo on your shoulder I saw it before I blacked out that day."
