My head was throbbing, I felt terrible. I moved my head deeper onto the pillow in hopes to ease the pain.

Wait-- pillow?

My eyes opened quickly as I got up at the same time. I scanned the whole room and tried to remember what happened.

The challenges, right. I forgot, I had already won.

I sighed in relief and took a deep breath to calm myself down.

I took my time to look around me again. I was back in my own room, everything still looked the same as I've left it, as if there was nothing different. The only thing different here was me.

It was the moon goddess, the one who always appeared in my dreams. It was her who helped me to remember everything. Why I'm here, why I had to go through things that I had to.

'Chári, huh.' I whispered to my wolf.

'Yes, the moon goddess' warrior.' she reminded. I nodded.

Outside my window, I could see the tree branches swaying with the wind. I started wondering what happened after the battles, as I recall, I passed out after the pack members had recognized me as their Luna.

The amount of power I had used overwhelmed my body, I got tired too easily. It must've been because I haven't used my real strength in a long time. It will take a while for me to get used to it, but I know that everything will be fine.

I pushed the blanket away from my feet and stood up, I almost fell if I had not held onto the night table beside me. My feet were numb for a bit, but I stood up perfectly fine after that.

As I was walking to the bathroom, I caught a glimpse of myself in the mirror. On the right side of my head, there was a strand of silver hair. It stood out amongst my dark brown hair, but it was a sign of the powers I possessed.

My usually dark grey eyes were now bright and clear.

Is this how I will look like now?

A familiar scent made its way to my nostrils and my head jerks towards the door and sure enough, it opened. Ian made his way in and as he saw that the bed was empty, his eyes quickly look for me. When he found me, he sighed relieved and walked towards me.

I smiled and met him in the middle.

"Hey you--" before I could say anything more, Ian had already kissed me, his arms lacing around my waist and pulled me closer towards him. Although I was surprised, it didn't take me too long before I responded.

Closing my eyes, I kissed him back.

He was worried, I could feel that through the mate bond, but he was starting to calm down. When we pulled away, I chose to rest my head on his chest for a bit as I hugged him back. I inhaled deeply, relishing in his scent that was so good.

Ian's scent will always be my favourite and I hoped that I was his.

"I thought you'd never wake up." he said, I heard a hint of fear in his voice. I chuckled and looked up to him.

"How long was I out?" I questioned.

"Three days." I pulled away and raised my eyebrow at him. Th-three days? That's awfully long! "Yeah, you've been sleeping for three days, everyone was worried."

I nodded and broke free from his hold, finding my way to my bed and sitting down on it. "And you?"

"Of course I was scared, you dummy."

I couldn't help but laugh again, but my heart sank for a bit. Ian followed me and came beside me, but instead of sitting down, he laid down.

I let myself drop on the bed and laid myself on my side so I was faced towards Ian. I watched as Ian stared up the ceiling, I could see that there were a lot of things in his mind. I could only imagine what he had to go through these past three days and I suddenly felt sorry for him.

The more I learned about Ian, I came to find that Ian was more than the scary persona that he let people believe.

"So what happens now?" I ask.

Ian still kept his eyes upwards as if he didn't hear me asking, but then he sighs. "Well, you officially become my Luna..." he said. There was a dragged silence at the end of his phrase and I knew he had more to say.

"And?"

"And there's the thing about you being Chári. The Council had been made known of your existence and everything that happened so things can get complicated."

The Council? Werewolf Council? How did they get involved in all of this? To be honest, I didn't really trust this Council. They were supposed to be an organization that controls the wellbeing of the were kind. The members of the Council were selected at random from the elders of many powerful packs all around the world.

They could make rules, but packs are not subject to follow them. The Council was simply there for diplomacy reasons and aid when the situation requires it.

However, my instinct told me not to trust them. There are a lot of shady things about what they do that don't really make sense to me and if others have felt the same, nobody dared to speak out.

"I see..." I answered, understanding the situation.

Ian grew silent again but I knew he had more questions.

"If you really are Chári, then that would mean that the legends are true. Then that means that you're in danger." he realizes.

I remembered the legend that I read in the book. When the four warriors of the moon goddess will be sent in earth, they will live dangerous lives once their identity are revealed. Strays will target them and try to kill them.

Strays. The one I heard the three talking about the other day.

From the knowledge that the moon goddess had given me, strays were humans who had been turned to werewolves, but had defects. Humankind and the werekind are supposed to live their lives as humans or werewolves. Trying to defy that fact was simply wrong.

Strays have rogue-like characteristics, but they are controlled by one person. Who and why he is doing this, we absolutely had no reason. That's the reason why we're here.

Finally, Ian faced me and brought me closer towards him. He stared at me for a bit and smiled.

"You really look different now." he said, he must've been talking about the random silver strand on my hair and my unnaturally bright grey eyes.

My hand went up to the part of my head with the silver strand and stared at it, obviously not used to it. It looked so weird and I looked like a weirdo. I pouted. "I'm sure there's a way I can turn the colour back to normal." I said.

Ian laughed and took the strand from my hand. "It looks quite peculiar, but it's nice."

Okay.

We laid there for a while, I moved closer to him, making sure he didn't leave me again and he kept his hand around me and that made me feel jitters in my stomach.

I closed my eyes and tiredness started setting in again. As I closed them, I couldn't help but remember the first night that we had met and our first encounter. It had seemed so impossible to work things between us, but strangely, we were almost there.

As I rested my head on his arms, he placed a kiss on my forehead before I drifted back into sleep.

And it felt so damn nice.

"We cannot stay here anymore, Alpha. It's becoming too dangerous." the wolf said.

It felt so unusual that they called the rogue the Alpha. She was far from one, she has never even had one. She had encounters with them, sure, and she knew how powerful they could be.

She was an outlander, she was considered a rogue by pack wolves, but she never knew what that really meant. After all, how can you know how something meant when you have lived your whole life that way. She didn't really mind that she was called as such, but she knew that they were perceived as evil.

The rogue looked back and saw the men, women and children that had been following her. How could they ever see these people as evil?

She sighed, she knew the wolf was right. Lately, they had encountered so many rogues, but they were different. Rogues usually had a mark that they have been banished from their pack or had a scent of one if they had willingly abandoned their pack, but their pack mark would fade after a certain time. The rogues that they had been fighting with lately were different.

The rogue took off the scarf that covered her pale face.

"We go south."
