《The Alpha Broke the Omega》dinner

*Hannah has brown hair. P.S totally accidental that I chose Ashley Benson's GIF to represent Hannah's smile, lol.

My stomach was rumbling, again.

I was starving because I hadn't eaten anything since the morning. After my training with none other than the dear Alpha himself, Andrea dragged me into the shops and had shopped with me. She bought me some clothes and I was adamant that I paid for my clothes, but who was I kidding? I had no money.

"Don't worry about it, Hannah. Ian's paying anyways so let's max it out." she started as she gave me another pair of jeans to try on. "And besides, he's the one who told me to get you some clothes. And to be honest, your clothes are so out--"

"W-w-wait. He told you to get me some clothes?" Did I mishear her or something? Hm, I should clean my ears again later.

Instead of answering my question, she stopped and smiled excitedly and I had no idea why. "Aw, you two are so cute." she teased and hugged me.

Did she just call us c-cute?

Oh my gosh, no way. D-did she know? How?

I surely didn't tell her and there was no way in earth Ian would ever tell her. Alec maybe?

Oh, Ian is so going to kill him.

My eyes widened, confused of what she was thinking at the moment. Did she really know though? However, Andrea started laughing.

"What? You really think I didn't notice?"

"Notice what?" I tried acting dumb which resulted in her rolling her eyes.

She continued looking through the racks and found a blazer that I kinda thought was cute. "I'm not stupid. I've guessed ever since you came here. Ian will never let an outsider in for reasons such as 'she's my guest', so I waited for a while to confirm my suspicions. And I know I'm right. Don't even dare lie. I know that you're his m--" I rushed to cover her mouth.

What if somebody heard?! I looked around and thankfully, no one was within earshot. Human earshot, that is.

"Okay, okay. Whatever! Just, just don't tell anyone." I pleaded her but she only laughed.

She continued nodding and gave some more clothes.

"Hey, don't worry," she smiled playfully at me, "Ian knows that Laura and I know. I once asked and he tried lying about it, but he's a terrible liar." she says and laughs.

My jaw dropped and I couldn't help facepalm myself. Great, now Andrea and Laura knows too. I don't even know why I was hiding it too, but I shook the thought off.

I was fixing the clothes that Andrea and I got when I smelled a familiar scent in the air. It was none other than Alec himself. Soon enough, the door opened to his ever so smiling face, his cute dimples showing.

"Hi, you." I say and continue fixing the clothes inside the closet. Instead of greeting me back, he plummeted himself onto my bed which made me raise an eyebrow at him.

To be fair, he did look tired and I haven't seen him around for a while.

"Which one do you want to hear first, the good news or the bad?" he started. I stop in my tracks and turn towards him. If it was news, it was bound to always be bad.

"I tend to be an optimist, don't you think?"

He gets up and yawns. "Well, the good news is that dinner is almost ready." he says and I smile immediately. Ah, food. My true love. I don't need a mate. All I need is food. Alec seemed to expect my reaction.

"So the bad news?" I ask. Alec stood up, walking towards me as he puts both of his hands on my shoulder. His smile disappeared and a worried expression graced his face, one I rarely saw. Okay... what was the big deal?

My heart started pounding. Is he gonna announce that somebody got seriously hurt or something? Does the pack know about their Alpha's Omega mate? Oh gosh, please no. I'm going to hunt Andrea down.

"You'll be dining with the Alpha."

"What do you mean?"

He rolls his eyes, but sighs at the same time as if understanding the pity that I deserved at the moment. "You and him. Alone. Over dinner. I mean, it would've been fine, but today he's in a pretty bad mood. Good luck. Be down by six-thirty and don't be late, or else hell will break loose."

With those very encouraging news, he left me alone to wallow in my own misery. It was only sinking in now.

I mean, I'm not scared, it's just weird. I don't like being alone with him, who knows what could happen. But most of the time it ends up with either of us wanting to kill each other.

I glanced over my clock and almost curse when I saw the time. It was six freaking fifteen. I had fifteen minutes to prepare.

Freakin' Alec, informing me only fifteen minutes before. Right now, I was a sweaty mess, I had been fixing my room and fixing the clothes and stuffs we bought earlier for about two hours when Alec suddenly came.

Ugh, I can't go to dinner like this.

It's okay, I'll take a quick shower. And so I did. It was very brief, a quick wash of shampoo and soap and lastly, the conditioner. After finishing in the shower, I took a random black dress that we bought earlier and put it on.

I glanced at the clock.

Oh goodness, two minutes till thirty. I tried drying my hair a bit with my towel and brushed it quickly. I took my sandal and started walking away from my room. I literally sprinted down the kitchen and a few steps away, I saw Laura walking out of the kitchen.

She made a worried face, but still smiled encouragingly at me.

"You look lovely, dear." she said. I muttered a thank you and she left. I took a deep breath and let it out soon enough too. Okay, here goes nothing.

I stepped into the kitchen and saw a crossed-armed Alpha looking very annoyedly at me. I glanced over the kitchen wall clock. Six thirty-four.

"Running late?" he was pissed. Oh come on, it was four minutes. I decided to ignore him and went over to my seat, the one in front of him.

I could feel his eyes boring into me and if I was a piece of paper, I would have already burned from the intensity of his stare. It's four freaking minutes!

"Tough day?" I say lightly and a bit mocking. I couldn't help it, he was being a douche over four minutes of tardiness.

I heard him sigh and I even caught him shaking his head disapprovingly. We had steak for dinner, of course (insert an eye-roll here). The plating was beautiful, the meat itself looked so good my stomach started rumbling.

Suddenly, memories came into my head and a realization hit me.

"What's wrong? You don't like the food?" Ian asked. I snapped my eyes towards him and quickly look down.

Right, it's been about four months since I've been here. I feel like my old life is such a distant memory.

"Uhm, nothing. I just realized this was my first time eating steak. I used to only serve them." I shared, trying to sound nonchalant. He stopped for a while and nodded but he went on to eat anyways.

Over dinner, none of us talked. The only sound you could actually hear were the cutleries against the plate.

It was probably around seven when I noticed that Ian was done eating. He was just... looking at me.

As much as I would have liked to ignore him, it actually bothered me that he was just staring at me. "Stop that." I said and took a sip of my drink. Sparkling water, compared to his that was wine.

"Well then, eat faster. I want to get out of here too." he said and crossed both of his arms again. That made me raise an eyebrow at him. Was he actually waiting for me to finish? Instead of cutting my steak at the normal speed, I decided to do it slowly.

"Hm, I like to take my time when eating. Besides, aren't you the one who set this dinner up, what's the hurry."

"For your information, this was not my idea."

"So why are we here?"

He rested his head onto his hand as he kept staring at me. Under this light, his blue eyes had specks of gold and green which were breathtaking. Ugh, stop that.

"Alec, Andrea and Laura. They suggested it was a way of getting to know each other." he said shivering a bit at the thought.

I stopped and gave him a weird look too. Getting to know each other? Really?

"Well, we're not really getting to know each other now, aren't we. Other from the fact that we both hate each other." I whispered quite sarcastically.

"Oh, on the contrary I've learned a few things just by sitting here and watching you eat."

A playful smile adorned my lips. What could he possibly have learned about me? "Oh yeah? Care to share?" He sighed as he still stared at me with a bored look.

"To start, you eat agonizingly slow." I rolled my eyes. "You don't like green peas," his eyes went down to my plate and indicating the separated green peas at one small corner of my plate, "it's your first time eating stake and... you're quite nervous around me." he finished off. I was about to take one of my last bites, but what his final note made me stop.

A chuckle escaped my lips. "Me? Nervous around you? Puhlease." I laughed some more.

"Ah, let me rephrase. You get nervous when I look at you."

"Well that's because I don't like the thought of someone staring at me as I eat. And you're still doing it."

"Well maybe I enjoy doing so." Ian said. It was very slight, but I was sure I saw a small smile. So he smiles genuinely, not just that dangerous smirk he always wore around me.

I rolled my eyes. "Whatever. Well to be fair, I've learned a few things about you too." It was his turn to raise an eyebrow at me. He gestured me to go on and so I did. "First of, you're not very patient," he acknowledged that with a nod, "your mood kind of affects everyone, you eat fast, which is bad for your health and your eyes has specks of green and gold in them." I smiled, quite happy with my answer.

He nodded. "Fair enough. And my mood does not affect everyone. They just know when not to make me even more mad." Okay, he seemed to be oblivious by the fact that everyone is tensed when he was mad.

"And why were you mad today, may I care to ask?" Two bites till I finished my plate.

"Nothing that concerns you." he sounded annoyed. Oh okay, talk about a change of mood.

"Ah, lastly. Your mood changes quite fast doesn't it."

"Are you calling me moody?" he sounded offended.

"I didn't exactly say that, but if that's the right word then so be it."

"You're annoying you know that?"

"And you're insufferable."

He huffed mockingly. "You talk too much too, finish eating now." With that, I took my last bite. I raised both my hands up in the air, indicating that I was done.

"Happy now, Alpha?" I mocked.

He rolles his eyes and got up to leave the kitchen.

I probably sat there for another ten minutes replaying everything that had just happened and replaying the conversation we just had.

Did we really just converse normally?
