《The Alpha Broke the Omega》Alpha

Raindrops pattered against my broken roof and skin.

It had been raining nonstop for the past few days and quite harshly at that. I tried to fix the broken parts of my roof, but the wind just blowed what little fixture I tried.

Ms. Delware stopped by this morning to give me food and I was so thankful because I'd been hungry ever since the storm started. It was a great act because my small house was a far walk from the pack house.

Thunder boomed and I whimpered. I hated storms and thunderstorms. They reminded me of when my parents disappeared and when I first got beat up. The first time traumatized me. It was the most painful one, the pain had been unfamiliar so of course it hurt badly. I could still see the man's figure as he kicked my sides and punched my stomach.

Each hit he took, it seemed like the thunder beamed, forever etching the torture in my head.

I closed my eyes hard hoping that when I woke up, the rain would cease.

The night had already fallen when I was awaken by a stirring inside me. It was a warm and peaceful feeling, as I was at peace. It's been a while since I've felt this way.

My heart beat heavily in anticipation, but of what? I felt so restless for some reason and I didn't understand it.

Although the cold raindrops continued to hit my skin, I felt hot. A wave of energy and power that I've never felt before surged me and I needed to let it out so I started pacing around my small house.

I noticed that I could see better through the dark, it was as if I could see in the dark. I could also hear better. Outside, I could hear the leaves spiralling with the wind. How? I didn't know, but I was certain that the tingling sounds were the raindrops falling and the scratchy sounds were the trees and the leaves. My smell had also heightened. I could smell the pack house and the pack members that were afar off from here and I could tell which scent belonged to who.

Somehow, I knew that the cinnamon and sugary smell belonged to Ms. Delware. The alcohol and mud scent belonged to Stewart, the one who constantly beat me up.

I don't understand, what's happen—

"Hannah." I heard. I turned around and searched my field of view to look for the owner. But no one was here. And plus, I've never heard that voice before. Who did it belong to? I don't know.

I feel like I'm going insane.

"It is. I am not present physically, but I am in your head. You and I are one." the voice says again. My eyes widen as I start to realize what was happening.

"A-are you..?" I stutter in my head.

"Yes. I am your wolf."

"B-but how? I'm already beyond the age to get a wolf."

"Yes, the Moon Goddess would not let me show myself. I've always been here with you, ever since you were a child." my wolf says. I was even more confused. I didn't understand anything she said.

"What do you mean?"

"I'm afraid I don't know how to explain them either." my wolf says knowingly and I pout.

Tornadoes of emotions swirled in me as I tried to grasp what was happening. I was happy, no not happy. I'm overjoyed. I had a wolf.

I'm not wolfless.

And that's when I feel it. My wolf who was telling me to shift fell silent. An intoxicating smell filled my nostrils. For a long while we just stayed there, but I felt the need to stand up and follow the smell.

It was the smell of the deep forest trees, like cedars, but fresh. So fresh and so... I don't know, but as it filled my nose, it became addicting.

Who did this scent belong to? I don't think I've ever smelled this scent before.

I went outside and in an instant, I was drenched wet by the rain, but I didn't mind it. I needed to find the owner of this scent. I wore no shoes, sandals or slippers so my feet and legs were getting continually scraped as I walked faster towards the pack.

My wolf started humming mysteriously inside my head and no matter how many times I asked her what was going on, she ignored me.

My heart started to beat fast in anticipation, nervousness, and so many other things.

That was where the scent and the mysterious pulling inside me led me to. After a while, I was completely drenched. My dark chocolate hair looked black and my dirty white sweater weighed heavy from the water and clung tightly on my skin.

I followed the scent and the pull until I was in front of the pack house. I panted heavily as I stared at the two-story building in front of me.

My heart was racing inside my chest in a manner that even I couldn't explain. All I knew is that, after tonight, my life will never be the same again.

And I was right. As the door of the pack house opened and someone stepped out.

He was tall, he stood taller than the door frame so he had to crouch lower just to step out the door. Even from here, I could see his grass-like eyes staring at me intently, observing every part of me. I did the same.

He had a clean-cut dirty blonde hair, emerald eyes that pierced my soul as he looked, soft plump lips, pointy nose, and a sharp jawline.

He was... stunning.

I don't think I have ever seen a man so handsome, so dashingly attractive. He was the type of person that demanded to be looked at, he was an exhibition, a masterpiece. His eyes were equally as enchanting, reeling me in to keep staring, but at the same time daring me look away.

Then, my wolf stopped humming to pronounce the word I thought I would never hear in my whole life.

Mate.

I wanted to bask in thankfulness that I had a mate. He was going to save me from this cruel place now. I wanted to cry and shout in happiness. I was going to have a normal However, I quickly notice my Alpha stand beside him and I grasp the situation quickly.

My mate was an Alpha.

An Alpha.

I'm an Omega.

I felt sick all of a sudden.

Flashes of beatings from my Alpha all played in my head. As sickening as it sounds, my Alpha had beaten me up countless times also. Worse, since he was the most powerful of our pack, his punches and kicks and hit were way powerful than other hits I received from other pack members. The bruises he left stayed there for days and the fractured bones would take at least a week.

On especially bad days, he would use silver on me.

On the worst days, he used poison such as wolfsbane.

I wanted to vomit. My heart didn't beat in anticipation or excitement or even happiness anymore. It beat slowly and heavily... out of fear.

"What are you doing here?!" my Alpha screamed violently at me. He looked over to his side where his beta-- beta Harvey-- stood. "Take the omega out of Alpha Ian's sight now!" he ordered rather aggressively.

Oh no.

I started taking steps back, but not before I take another look at my mate.

His curious and examining look were gone. His green eyes stared at me soullessly, as if he didn't feel the connection I was feeling right now. As if he didn't feel this pull I was suffering from.

I could feel tears rising up. Beta Harvey was taking his time descending the stairs and I took it as my opportunity to run.

So I ran. As fast and as far I could.
