《Boss and his Babygirl》Chapter 17: Welcome home

I stared up at the car mirror watching the two girls chatter quietly amongst themselves as I drove the three of us home from the hospital.

As I drove along the quiet street, endless thoughts poured into my head making me grip the steering wheel tighter.

What an earth am I doing? Letting a random girl live with me. I'm letting another damn weakness into my life. I should've cut all ties with her after intentionally hurting her. She's only going to bring more trouble to my already troubled life, yet she was like a drug. I barely knew her but I craved her. I craved to gaze upon her and talk to her. But I was stupid. She wouldn't want a guy like me. I reckon her type is a guy who sits at a coffee shop writing songs and playing them on a guitar. I'm far from perfect. I'm dangerous and powerful, she's sweet and innocent. We could never work. But I'd like to imagine we could.

"So Rosie, you still going for dinner with Dean anytime soon?".

The car suddenly halted as my idiotic sister blurted out the one thing I didn't want her to bring up.

Glancing at Rosie through the car mirror I smiled watching as her cheeks reddened and stared out of the window refusing to make eye contact with anyone.

"No".

"Shame. I'm pretty certain Jackson was admiring Rosie in the cafe the other day. Maybe he'll see some sense and ask her out to dinner".

This cow always knows how to push my buttons.

Hearing Jackson's name in connection to Rosie's made me instinctively grip the steering wheel painfully displeased by the thought of Jackson taking Rosie out to dinner. He never valued women, he just saw them as a toy, a play thing and then once used he discarded them and searched for a new toy. The idea of any man flirting with Rosie made goosebumps appear all over my skin. That didn't sit well with me.

The car was now a tense silence as nobody uttered a word. I couldn't take my eyes off Rosie as she adorably stared out the window, her cheeks still pink.

What are you doing to me Rosie.

"This is your room, for now. It's been replenished with fresh towels and essentials but please make yourself welcome. Dinner will be ready at 6, so unpack, freshen up and come down when you're ready".

She smiled shyly at me before nodding and plopping herself down on the bed gazing around the room with a childish glee.

Closing the door gently behind me, I walked to my office and slumped myself down in my large chair and opened up my laptop.

Responding to the last few emails, I switched on my phone to see a text message from Jackson reading:

Come to the warehouse. We've got the man who hurt Lucy.

An overwhelming feeling of satisfaction coursed through my veins making me smirk at the soon to be fate of the man who dared hurt my sister. I couldn't wait to get my hands on him. Slipping my phone back into my pocket I hurried out of my office and barged into Lucy's room.

"Oh, come on in" Lucy muttered mockingly as she plaited her hair.

"Sorry, but I won't be having dinner. I have to go to the office. See you later". Pecking a soft kiss on her forehead I bolted out the room shutting the door behind me and ran to the room Rosie was in.

Not sparing a moment to knock, I barged in and looked for Rosie, but I regretted not knocking. There she stood frightened to her core only standing before me in a small white towel barely covering her body. Her wet hair cascaded over her smooth skin leaving a beautiful coconut smell wafting around the room.

God. As if she wasn't tempting enough.

I spun around quickly and covered my eyes hoping to show her I meant no intention of looking at her beautiful body.

"Gosh, I'm so sorry for barging in. I um, I was just letting you know that I have to go to work now. I won't be here for dinner but Maria will be happy to dine with you and Lucy. Take care".

As much as I wanted to turn back and admire her standing in the little towel, I couldn't do it. I respected her too much to do such a thing.

Walking out of the room, I firmly closed the door I lent against the wall outside her room desperately trying to cool my red cheeks not to mention my very evident arousal.

I have no time for love and romance. I only have time for power, blood lust and revenge and this man was going to get it.

"Tell me again, who do you work for?".

I threw another punch at the now almost unrecognisable man who sat tied tightly to a chair. His nose was broken, teeth lay on the floor around him, 3 fingers missing and cuts covered his body like a beautiful canvas. He truly looked like a work of art, but I was stupid for wearing a white shirt. It was now stained completely red.

"G-go to hell" the man sputtered out as he coughed up blood and spat it by my feet.

Gripping his collar tightly I threw my fist towards his face smiling as he cried out as another hit landed on his already broken nose.

"What are your intentions. Why my little sister?"

The half dead man chuckled menacingly as he lifted his eyes up to meet mine, no fear evident in his eyes. Heading over to a table full of equipment, I picked up a hammer and walked back to him ensure he had full sight of it.

"You should be thanking me. Boss' original plan was for me to kidnap her and sell her. I'm sure a lot of men would pay for such a young innocent girl"-

Losing complete control of my anger I smashed the hammer down on his crotch cringing at his blood curdling screams and watched as he thrashed around in his chair. Just the thought of Lucy being sold for sick intentions made me want to puke. Screaming in anger, I smashed the hammer down on both of his kneecaps and smirked at the satisfying sounds of bones cracking.

"You've got three seconds to tell me who you're working for before I end your miserable life in the most excruciating way possible".

Blood poured out of his mouth as he writhed in agony and groaned in pain.

"A-Adam Lyons ".

Pulling the gun out hidden in the waistband of my pants I held it to the disgusting man's chin and pulled the trigger making his body suddenly still.

Adam Lyons. The man who killed my parents.
