《Boss and his Babygirl》Chapter 14: Leave

I've never moved so much in my entire life. I could hardly sleep last night as the memories of the note haunted my every second. He knew. He knew where I was. I had to get away. There were too many bad memories here. I wasn't wanted here anyway. Dean made that very clear.

I didn't have much to my name and didn't have time to transport all my heavier belongings, so I packed up what I could and arranged for a taxi to take me to the airport. It was going to happen sooner or later, the bailiffs were coming to repossess the flat anytime soon anyway.

Grabbing the last of my bags, I flung my coat on and double checked all my belongings.

Knock knock

Perfect timing. The taxi had arrived.

Swiftly unlocking the door, I pulled the door open eager to tell the taxi driver that I would be only a moment, but instead met the last person I wanted to see right now.

Anger flooded through my system as Dean looked at me with a sad smile.

Grabbing the door I went to slam it shut, but before I could, Dean stuck his foot in the doorway refusing me the chance to shut the door.

Slamming it repeatedly against his foot in anger and frustration I glared up at him not caring if I hurt his foot. But the rage only worsened as he simply stared at me with a blank expression.

"What the hell do you want?" I growled out giving up on my attempts to shut him out.

"Rosie, I"-

"I'm surprised you called me that. I thought I was nothing to you or anyone for that matter". All the emotions I had kept bottled up for a long time were starting to unravel and pour out.

"Rosie, everything I said was a lie".

Well that sentence alone is one big lie.

"Bullshit. Why else would you say it?"

"Because I was angry. I was afraid. I didn't know if Lucy was going to wake up".

"That's not an excuse to say the things you did".

Suddenly a car pulled up alongside side the pavement with the familiar taxi logo. Dean's head whipped over to the taxi and then back to me.

"Where are you going?" he blurted out as if he had a right to know.

"Doesn't concern you". I shut him down harshly making him frown.

"Rosie, please. I'm sorry. What I said was disgusting and I don't expect you to forgive me anytime soon. But I'm truly sorry. I lashed out at you because of my sister's situation and"-

"Now you regret it. Of course. I'm so sorry for your sister's situation, but that doesn't allow you a free pass to insult and put me down".

The taxi horn beeped loudly capturing my attention and I held my hand up to signal for him to wait. The elderly man smiled sweetly and nodded understanding I wouldn't be long.

"You hurt me. You hurt me so bad Dean. I barely know you yet you knew the situation you found me in. You knew how much shit I went through and you have the audacity to say those words. Words hurt Dean".

Dean edged closer towards me. One hand was behind his back for some reason, but his closeness made me anxious.

"Rosie, I'm so sorry. Please, let me make it up to you. Lucy's awake and when she asked where you were and I told her, she flipped. Please Rosie, I, I have an unexplainable pull to you and I regret ever saying to stay away. I can't stay away".

The taxi man beeped his horn now clearly frustrated at waiting.

"No Dean. You're going to have to because I'm leaving". Walking back into my flat I grabbed my suitcase and numerous bags and brought them outside my flat.

"What? Why? Where are you going?".

I could feel Dean follow closely behind me as I gathered up the last of my things.

"I'm moving. There's too many bad memories here and I have no-one left, remember?".

I chose to keep quiet about the threat I received last night. He didn't need to know.

"No. Rosie, it's not true. I know I hurt you, but you have us. Please don't go".

"Quit it Dean, I'm leaving and you can't stop me".

I huffed loudly in frustration and stomped past Dean checking over all of my possessions. Dean's lips suddenly quirked up into a smirk and turned his back to me.

Dean strolled over to the man in the taxi and whispered hushed words to him before handing him some money. To my horror, the taxi drove away and soon was completely out of sight.

"What the hell do you think you're doing?" I screamed at him. He was going to make me late for my flight.

"Stopping you from leaving" he simply shrugged his shoulders and walked back to me with a childish glee in his eyes.

"Who do you think you are?".

My voice was loud and I was probably attracting unwanted attention, but I didn't care. This arrogant, self centred asshole thought he could dictate my life.

"My name is Dean".

I've never wanted to slap a person more in my life than right now.

"What do you want Dean?" I sighed in defeat and stared down at the ground. Pieces of my hair fell from my messy bun and shielded my eyes from Dean.

He took a few steps towards me and rested one of his hands on my chin before firmly lifting my head up to his eye level.

"I want you to forgive me. Please Rosie".

His eyes alone were enough to see the authenticity of his words and the truth he spoke.

"You honestly think you can say all the things you said and just ask me to forgive you. Who do you think you are?".

"I am"-

"Don't even think about it" I growled unimpressed by his inappropriately timed humour.

"Look, I'm terribly sorry. I shouldn't have lashed out at you the way I did. It was awful of me and frankly Lucy has me on her kill list right now because of it and that thought frightens me. Please Rosie".

"Don't think I'll completely forgive you that easily, but for Lucy's sake, fine. I somewhat forgive you. Being on Lucy's kill list is punishment enough".

Dean let out a breathy chuckle and nodded.

"I can cope with that. I'll buy her a happy meal and you watch, I'll be straight off that list" he laughed as he stared down at my bags.

"Oh, these are for you". Dean pulled out his hand from behind his back and brought forward the most beautiful bouquet of red roses.

"What's with the roses?".

"Well, er, I felt like an asshole and I wanted to make it up to you. I know girls like flowers and so I got them". My heart skipped a beat as Dean's confident, cocky persona fled, and now I was faced with a shy adorable man.

"Well, that's very thoughtful. But if you ever want to get me something nice, just get me a box of 20 chicken nuggets".

Dean snorted loudly and shook his head as if I had said something amusing.

"I'll know for next time".

Even though things with Dean were now okay, I was still clueless about what was going to happen. I still need to leave and get far away from here.

"So, what are you going to do now that you've missed you flight?" And now, the arrogant jerk is back.

"Well, umm, I'll book another flight and leave".

Dean's smile suddenly dropped and shook his head in disbelief.

"What? No. Rosie, please, we're good now".

What an earth do I tell him?

"No, I know. But I have to". I tried to sound convincing, but judging from the look on Dean's face, he wasn't falling for it.

"Rosie, if there's something wrong, you can tell me".

Crap crap crap.

"No nothings wrong but I, I need to leave Dean. I'm sorry, I"-

"Are you Miss Faye?"

Oh no.

2 large well built men appeared out of nowhere behind me with folders and protective uniform.

"Who the hell are you?" Dean stepped in front of me shielding me away from the unknown men.

"Sir, My name is Bryant and I've been sent from the high court to conduct a repossession of Miss Faye's flat".

The man handed over a legal document to Dean and he read it quickly before looking back at me utterly confused.

"That's why Dean".

Before he had a chance to utter a word I walked away with the bailiff officers and let them into the flat.

I've got nowhere to go.
