《Boss and his Babygirl》Chapter 9: Troublemaker

I deserved a freaking medal for pulling this off, even though I had only accomplished half of my plan so far. I fooled Rosie into thinking she was meeting me for ice cream, but now I had to tackle Dean which I knew would be much harder because he was so freaking stubborn.

"Lucy you finished gossiping with Rosie? We have places to be and places to go, so get your butt into the car".

Dean's in a bad mood again, oh what's new about that. Jackson probably said something to annoy him. Although from the way Jackson was acting and staring at Rosie I felt peed off and annoyed. He would not ruin my ship. Not now, not ever.

Putting my seat belt on, I stared out of the window and sighed as Dean slowly pulled away from the adorable cafe.

"Where are we going now?" I sulked as Dean sped down the empty road with a grumpy face.

"To the office, you can do your work there".

"Ugh. Why can't I have a normal life and go to school like a normal child". I was getting fed up of having to leave school early or be taken out completely.

"Enough Lucy, you're working at the office and that's final".

"Enough Lucy, you're working at the office and that's final" I mimicked under my breath.

He needs a girlfriend badly to sort out his mood swings. More specifically he needs Rosie as his girlfriend, I feel she would bring him the peace he's been searching for for so long.

"Hello boss, I've completed the work you asked for". I cringed as my eyes fell upon the woman who was infatuated with my brother. If definitions had pictures, then she'd be the definition of fake, everything fake.

I had seen her around quite a bit and she was very mean to other girls who sometimes worked with my brother. She was ugly both inside and out. She reminded me of Jackson. They both had no redeeming qualities. They only cared about their appearance, money and power.

Maybe I should set her up with Jackson so she stays away from my ship. No one and nothing would get in the way of my plans.

I watched her closely as she talked with my brother. I barely knew Rosie, but I was sure that she was Dean's soulmate. I already found mine. It was food. I had no time for boys. They were too stressful. But Dean was the only exception. He looked after me on his own since I was a baby. I know he would look after Rosie.

"Thank you Natalia" my brother muttered dismissively walking past her and not even sparing her a glance. I smirked at her as I walked past her knowing it would wind her up.

"Sit down and get on with your work. I have a meeting to attend to". I watched silently as Dean pulled out numerous books and papers and placed them before me.

"If you need me, I'll be in the large meeting room next door". Dean walked over to me and kissed me gently on top of my head before leaving me alone in his office.

Screw school work. I needed to think of a way to get Dean to meet Rosie in the rose garden, tonight.

"We need to get to the bottom of these ongoing threats. Who is after my sister?".

I slammed my fist down furiously on the table effectively making everyone jump in shock and surprise.

"This is the third time this week and we are no closer to finding out their identity. This is not good enough".

Jackson cleared his throat and sat up on the seat that he was slumped on.

"We have tried to trace the location of the number, but it's come up with nothing. I believe whoever is making these threats is a rival of yours, but they seem dangerous if we don't take action". I gripped my hair tightly in frustration and stared down at the desk too angry to look up at anyone.

"Until we can get a trace and identify the people behind it, I want 4 men to guard Lucy at all times. Am I clear?".

"Yes boss".

"Let's get this day over and done with".

——————————-

"Guys, it's been a long yet successful day. Go home, take a break and return refreshed tomorrow morning".

Packing away all my loose papers back into my briefcase, I hurried out of the room and ran to my office hoping to reassure myself that she was still there and safe.

"Lucy?" I yelled out as I grasped the handle of my office door. But there was no response. Swinging the door open in panic, my eyes hurried around the room, but to my disbelief she wasn't there. Only her school work lay discarded on the table as if she never even attempted it.

"Fuck, shit, bloody child".

Pulling out my phone, I unlocked it and growled as I saw one small text message from Lucy. Not even sparing a minute to read the text I clicked on the phone icon by her name and held the phone to my ear.

"Wassup Dean bean?"

"Where the HELL are you?"

"I should've known you wouldn't have read the text message".

"Don't play games. Where are you? I'm coming to pick you up NOW".

"Alright mother Mary, pipe down. I'm in the rose garden in LittlePort park. Come meet me. I want ice cream".

Is she for fucking real!?

"You gave me a heart attack over freaking ice cream? How did you even leave the building? You know what, you can darn well answer all my questions when I get there. I'll be there in 10 minutes and you better be there or else".

My fingers tightened around the phone as I heard Lucy giggle in the background. Of course, she has no idea that someone wants her dead, but is she stupid for wondering the streets at night. She's 11 but acts like a damn 22 year old.

"Boss, everything okay?" Jackson poked his head through the door and raised a brow at me.

"Y-Yeah. Everything's fine. I thought I dismissed you. Why are you still here?".

"I um, I'm just finishing up some extra work. Trying to catch whoever is behind this threat".

I stared at him suspiciously. Normally, he was the first one out of the building as soon as I confirmed the working day was over.

"Okay".

I didn't have time to question him further, for my little sister, the only person I had left was wondering the dark streets alone for stupid ice cream.

"Excuse me. I gotta go". Pushing past him I sprinted down the endless halls before reaching the elevator and pressing the ground floor button.

***********

I was an absolute mess. I've never ran so much in my entire life. Sweat dripped down my forehead as I ran around the corner and came face to face with the famous rose garden in LittlePort park. The park was dimly lit, but I could see a small figure standing there with a thick coat on and a hood over their head. It had to be Lucy.

"Lucy" I yelled out as I ran towards her. The figure did not turn around to my voice, but instead stared at the array of roses. But as I walked closer towards her and watched as they pulled their hood down, I realised that it wasn't my sister, but instead it was Rosie.

"Rosie? What are you doing here?".

Rosie jumped at the cold tone in my voice and spun around, her eyes widened and face paled as if she had seen a ghost.

"I, um, I'm waiting for Lucy".

What the fuck?!

"What? Why?"

"She uh said she wanted to meet me for ice cream. She said she would meet me here at 6. Why are you here?".

And then the reality sunk in. My little sister is SO dead.

"She wanted to meet me for ice cream too. But she ain't here, is she?".

"I don't understand" Rosie mumbled sheepishly as she turned to the roses.

Of course you don't you naive beautiful little angel.

I hate you so much Lucy.
