《Boss and his Babygirl》Chapter 3: Introductions

I woke up surrounded by warmth. The same smell I fell asleep too, was the same smell that I woke up to. It felt like home, whatever that felt like. My eyes fluttered open unsure at my whereabouts as I could be certain that I was not in my own bed.

It felt too comfortable, too big and too soft to be mine. You could tell someone paid a lot of money for this bed. Was I in a hotel? Did I go out drinking and got so drunk that I snuck into someone's house mistaking it as my own?

The room was themed a beautiful black and silver, it looked truly magnificent. But why was I here?

I sat up and leaned against the bed rest and took my time to explore the new room. I stared over at a desk and on it sat a large red hoodie. The hoodie that he gave me last night.

Oh my god.

All the events of the previous night came flooding back reminding me of what almost happened.

The bridge, the man, the car and now, I've ended up here.

Knock knock

What the hell do I do?

I shut my eyes not knowing what to do. It was awkward enough facing the man who saved me, but to stay in his house, I felt uncomfortable. I looked down at my body to see that I wasn't even wearing my clothes. Someone put me in new clothes. An oversized T-shirt with a pair of pyjama shorts. Did he undress me.

The pervert

"Dear?"

I peeped one eye open to see a friendly elderly woman poking her head through the door eager not to wake me.

"Oh, erm hello". She smiled sweetly at me and seeing I was awake walked in the room.

Damn this guy has a maid?

"I didn't mean to disturb you sweetheart, but I was just informing you that breakfast is ready".

I nervously chuckled and nodded. I sure hope he was not there. I wanted to get out of this house as quick as I could.

"What's your name?" I muttered anxiously wanting to come across as polite.

"Maria, dear. And what is yours ma'am".

I inwardly cringed when she called me ma'am. Made me sound entitled and pretentious.

"Uhh, it's just Rosie".

"That's a beautiful name. Now, come down when you're ready dear". She bid me farewell before dismissing herself and shut the door behind her.

I collapsed back on the bed and sighed as I stared up at the ceiling. Last night was a blur. Truthfully I couldn't even remember what the guy looked like, but then that was the last thing on my mind.

He saved my life so I guess I've gotta give him that.

Kicking back the duvet covers I jumped out of bed and walked over to the large mirror on the opposite side of the room.

"Oh lord have mercy".

I looked hideous. My hair was a complete mess, dark circles had formed under my eyes letting everyone know how stressed and tired I am and my skin was puffy and blotchy.

Time to face the music.

I turned away from the monster in the mirror and headed to the door the sweet lady exited from not long ago.

As I stepped out the door I was greeted by a sweet smelling waft of deliciousness that had entranced me. I followed the scent that was luring me closer and closer making me forget that I wasn't even in my own home.

Trudging down the stairs as quietly as I could I peaked around the corner looking for any signs of life. As I reached the bottom of the stairs the sound of muffled voices could be heard in the distance getting louder and louder with each step.

Deep breaths Rosie, stay calm and collective.

Grasping the golden door handle, I slowly twisted it to the side and pushed the door open. I stood still as the door swung open revealing a large pristine kitchen with 2 people sat round a table and the lady known as Maria walking around the kitchen carrying around pots and pans.

"Hello dear, come and take a seat". Maria smiled at me as she set a plate of delicious looking food down on the table. I shuffled towards the table getting distracted by the happiness on her face that I completely forgot that I was also in the company of two other people.

Maria placed down a large empty plate in front of me and encouraged me to help myself.

My cheeks began to redden as I felt their stares on me waiting for me to grab some food. My stomach growled loudly as I sat there nervously under their intense gazes.

I stared down at all the food laid out before me. I had never seen such a large and beautiful array of food. Some days it was a struggle for me to eat 3 meals a day.

"Help yourself" a deep manly voice resonated around the beautiful mahogany dining room. I nodded slightly in appreciation before shakily reaching out and portioning out myself some food.

My mouth started to water as I began to tuck in to a pancake drizzled with golden syrup.

"Hello, I'm Lucy" the young looking girl blurted our making me choke slightly on my pancake. I glanced up to see a young pretty girl smile widely at me. She looked to be around 10 or 11 and was dressed in school uniform.

Taking a sip of my glass of orange juice I smiled shyly at her and whispered a small hello.

"What's your name?"-

"Lucy, you should get going. Don't want to be late for school". I kept my eyes down on my plate and continued eating quietly as the man sternly instructed the girl off out of here.

"Yes mother. Hope to see you around....?"

"Rosie" I smiled softly at her as I quietly told her my name.

"Hope to see you around, Rosie". I watched as Lucy picked up her school bag and walked over to the man who kissed her gently on the cheek and whispered in her ear.

"Maria can you go check on the washing please".

No please stay sweet Maria. Don't leave me with this intimidating man who saved me.

"Of course Sir". Maria bowed slightly before dismissing herself out the room, not forgetting to shut it behind her.

The atmosphere in the kitchen was tense. What would either of us say after such an event as last night. I continued to eat the food on my plate in silence hesitant to make conversation with this intimidating yet attractive man. He looked like he was created by the gods.

Just break the silence.

"T-thank you for saving my life".

Congratulations on being cool and collective. Of all times to stutter, it had to be now when I was in the presence of a beautiful man.

"It's not a problem, but I take it you had no intention of being saved". I stared up at him startled by his forwardness.

"I uh, it's been hard". I looked down at my lap and started playing with my hands nervously.

"Everyone has hard times, but what about the people that love and care about you? How would they feel if I didn't drive by and stop you. Would you have jumped?" His voice was harsh and stern as he stared at me intently questioning me on my life choices.

"There is no one out there who cares about me. I'm all alone" I whispered under my breath but from the way he stared at me, I could tell that he had heard what I said.

He let out a deep sigh and ran his hand through his once neatly gelled hair.

"I don't know what's going on in your life, but I promise you that there is always a light in the end of the tunnel. Sometimes you have to go through hell to get to heaven". His voice was much more sincere now than before. His words would bring comfort to most people, but not to me. It's easier said than done. He may have saved my life, but as of right now I couldn't see the light in the end of the tunnel.

Tears began to form in my eyes and dripped down my cheeks falling onto the oak table.

"Hey, I'm sorry if what I said was insensitive, it's just that you're so young. You've got a life ahead of you and maybe things will get better for you. I had Maria change you out of your wet clothes and my doctor also came as you had a raging temperature. I couldn't leave you in a vulnerable state".

So he wasn't a pervert after all.

"Well, thank you er...."

"Dean". He smiled softly at me before turning his attention to his coffee.

"Thank you, Dean".

"When you've finished breakfast you may go and get dressed. Maria has placed your clean clothes on your bed and after that I will take you home".

I smiled up at him and nodded gratefully. He had a cold aura and an intimidating demeanour about him, yet he was kind and considerate. Not forgetting how incredibly handsome he was too. Compared to him, I looked like a dang potato.
