《Sweet Disaster》14| Commitment

It was Monday now. I met Indigo yesterday too but we actually only talked about the project. We started and I am so intrigued.
She was being a total bitch. It was kind of hot but I don't think that's the disorder she's role-playing, it's just her. And it's what she was wearing. A cute, frilly, short, red sundress. She doesn't know dresses are my weak spot. She doesn't know I pay more attention to her when she's wearing a dress. So it happened unintentionally. But it fucking happened.
And the whole time, I had to focus more on not getting a hard-on and redirecting my attention to the answers she was giving me. But noted. Bitchy Indigo is next in bed.
In the dress, she looked like heaven. And then she opened her mouth and sounded like sin. And then after all the psychology shit, when I kissed her, she tasted like it too.
I was currently standing outside our English Literature hall, waiting for the doors to open with a few other people around me. I looked over when I heard her curse loudly. I know that voice and I know that groan.
"Fuck's sake!" She sank to her knees, gathering all her things. Already, I can tell, she's having a bad day. She stood back up, fixed her bag on her shoulder, and glared at the guy who ran into her and then right past her without helping her. She ran over, stopping beside me. "Am I late?"
"You got lucky. The previous class is running overtime."
"Thank god," she sighed in relief.
"Bad day?" I asked, looking at her while her arm brushed against mine.
"Very bad day," she mumbled.
I looked around, I looked at the time, then I looked down at her. "Class is running ten minutes late. You want to skip? We only have this class today."
"No, we have psychology right after." She turned to me.
"You're no fun," I sighed, rolling my eyes.
"Reece!" We both looked over, seeing Landon coming this way.
We both straightened up and she even cleared her throat. But we're in luck. The doors opened and we both bolted in, sitting at the very back so when Landon came in, he wouldn't see us.
The class filed in too and by the time he made it inside, our professor did too. "If you're not in this class, please leave. We're already late today." He had to leave after that.
We both exchanged a look and then proceeded to act like nothing happened. "Indigo," I whispered, putting my head down on the desk.
"What?" she mumbled, focused on taking notes.
"What are you doing after classes today?"
"You."
I lifted my head, looking at her in surprise.

"All day."
I blinked once. Then twice. "For real?"
"No, you idiot. Why are you asking?" She sighed, putting her pen down and turning to me.
"Let's go somewhere. I'll be bored at the apartment. I don't even have basketball today."
She nodded with a small shrug, "Okay. Just pick a place."
"We'll go straight from campus."
"Okay," she sang, bringing her face closer to mine. When I leaned back in, she quickly turned to her notes and started working on those again.
I huffed in frustration, staring at my notes. I don't want to take all these notes.
"Just copy my notes later, stop sulking," she said, hitting my elbow with hers.
I looked at her, getting a little suspicious. "You're having a bad day, right? Are you sure? Because you're being awfully nice to me."
"I'm having mood swings, don't know why. Before you ask, I'm not on my period."
"I wasn't going to ask you that but okay, Indigo." I put my head down and watched her, completely zoning out on the lecture.
When we had five minutes left of the class, she zoned out too, getting tired. She put her head down, facing me, and then scooted closer, staring at me. "You've spent the whole lecture watching me," she whispered.
"You look pretty. Yesterday too. I thought it was the dress but maybe it's just red in general," I said, glancing at her red cardigan top with her jeans.
She had a matching red headband too. "You're being sweet too. What's up with you?"
"I'm always sweet," I scoffed.
"You're a dick."
I frowned, glaring at her.
She blew a raspberry at me as the bell rang, dismissing us. We packed up our stuff and then headed out for our psychology lecture.

She jogged to keep up with me as we walked to the campus exit. "But where are we going?" she whined while I held onto her hand and slowed down to match her pace.
"We're going to the aquarium."
"Aquarium? Laguna aquarium?" she asked.
I nodded, glancing at her. "You've been?"
"I went when I first moved to Boston. It's the best aquarium and it's also the closest to us. Are we going to walk?"
"No. We'll stop by my apartment then I'll drive. I have to feed Whiskey too."
"Whiskey," she sang, suddenly perking up. She's been having major mood swings all day. I'm sure she's about to get her period if she hasn't gotten it already.
"I think you love my dog too much."
"Well, better your dog than you," she scoffed as we reached my apartment building.
"Not funny," I muttered. When we got there, I fed Whiskey and then grabbed the keys. Both of us left our stuff in my apartment and then before leaving, I knocked on my neighbor's door.

His name's Ricky. He's a middle-aged man but he still lives here alone. He answered the door. "What's up?"
"Do you mind taking Whiskey on a walk in about two hours? Just let him open in the park for half an hour, please? You have my spare key, right?"
"Sure, no prob."
"Thanks, Ricky. Bye." I turned around, jogging over to the elevator where Indigo was waiting. We headed down to my car and then climbed in. I backed out of the parking spot and started driving to the aquarium, it's no more than fifteen minutes away.
"What are we going to do at the aquarium though?" she asked, looking at me.
"Hang around, talk, I don't know," I shrugged.
"It sounds like a date," she mumbled softly.
"It's not a date. I'm killing time with you, that's all." I glanced at her.
"Okay, don't be so damn harsh."
I blinked, looking at her at a red light. "I wasn't harsh."
"Yeah, you were," she frowned, looking out the window, folding her arms across her chest.
Was I actually harsh or is it her mood swings?
I put my hand on her thigh while driving and she let me. "Indigo."
"What?"
"When are you supposed to get your period?"
"Soon. Why?"
"Just checking," I mumbled, turning to the street that the aquarium was located on. I parked and then we got out, waiting in line. I bought two tickets and then we were let inside. The whole room was dark but only lit up with hues and shades of blue. It was fairly quiet here too. It wasn't crowded since it's Monday and the middle of the damn day.
We moved from one corner of the room to another, talking, pointing at specific fish. We laughed at some of the fish, she took some pictures of the aquarium itself and then took one with me. Just one. I snatched her phone and sent it to myself before tucking her phone into her back pocket.
After a little while, we were the only people in this part of the aquarium. It was fairly small and isolated. It was also the only part where the aquarium was a dome and we even had fish swimming over our heads. There was a bench which we both settled on. She looked at me and then pushed my arms off my lap.
"What are you doing?" I asked.
She scooted down and then put her head in my lap, looking at the ceiling and the fish swimming above our heads while I looked at the ones in front of us. We sat in silence like that for a while and without saying a word, things shifted in the air. I knew she wanted to say something but she was biting her tongue, which is something she never does.
"Reece."
"I was waiting for you to say something. What's on your mind?" I asked, looking down at her.
She didn't look at me, she focused on the ceiling. "I want to ask you for something. But you might not give it to me."
I tried guessing but I couldn't come up with anything. "What? Sex right here?"
"I'm being serious."
"Okay," I said slowly and warily. "What is it? Tell me."
"I want your commitment."
I went completely still, looking down at her. "Commitment?" I echoed. "Even after knowing I don't—"
"Not like that."
I almost sighed in relief. "Then?"
"I'm not asking you to get in a relationship with me. I don't like you in that way, you idiot," she scoffed, still zoned in on the ceiling. "I just don't want you to sleep with someone else while we have this thing going on. And I won't either."
I wasn't planning on sleeping with anyone else while we had this thing going on but I'm curious as to why she's asking for that now. "Why?"
"It's fair that way. We're using each other but at least we're only using each other. I don't want to be another girl you toss once you're done with her. Not yet anyway."
"What about you? Won't you toss me once you're done with me?" I asked, lifting my hand to her hair, running my fingers through it.
"I don't know when I'll be done with you. You're the one who keeps saying I'll be done with you and then leave. I never said that but you've been saying it since the beginning. Because I know it's what you want. So, I'll do what you want, don't worry. I'll leave when I'm ready to. But while we're fucking around, can you give me your commitment, Reece?" She finally looked at me. "If you can't then tell me now. Because sleeping with someone is one thing and two-timing is another. If you can't then tell me and we'll stop right here. And stop touching my fucking hair."
"No. To touching your hair. And also no to ending it right here. I want to keep going. And you have my commitment. You've had it since that first night, in case you haven't noticed."
"I don't know if I've had it because you mean it or because you haven't had time to fuck another girl."
"Either way, I'm spending my time with you. And I'm only having sex with you. That's what you want, isn't it?"
"I don't want it if you don't want to do it. It'll feel like I owe for doing that as a favor then," she grumbled, pouting.
"It's not a favor. I don't want you fucking another guy either. That's mine."
She sighed, "Okay. That's commitment you just gave to me. Don't go back on it now."
"You too. I don't fucking anyone else."
"Ditto."
