《Ballet With The Bad Boy》Chapter 44

If looks could kill, I would be six feet under.

As soon as my parents decided to come home early and crash the party, everyone disappeared. Harvey had sobered up the second he saw them, pretty much chucking out every single person he saw, hoovering up as much rubbish as he could so they couldn't rip into him as much.

Despite it only being nearly 2 years since I last saw my parents, they had changed so much and I barely even recognised them.

My Mum, who was only in her early 40's looked like she could be my older sister. Her long black hair reached her mid-back and was pin straight just like mine was. Her usually pale skin was tanned from the sun but it still made her flawless features stand out.

Like Harvey and I having green eyes, my Mum had the same hue in her iris'. She looked too young. I guess that's what happens when you don't have the stress of two teenagers on your shoulders.

As my Mum looked like me, Harvey was a dead ringer for our Dad.

He was tall and lean, a mop of dark brown, messily styled hair sitting on top of his head. Like my Mum, he had a tan on his skin so he looked foreign instead of English.

He was the only one that didn't have green eyes, his the complete opposite with a striking blue that was sharp and clear like the ocean.

Again, like his wife, he looked younger than his age by years. Anyone would think that they were a couple in their late-twenties, early-thirties or something.

I felt like a 10 year old who was caught trying to steal cookies from the cookie jar. I was sitting cross-legged on my bed, my fingers wrapping around each other from being nervous at what they would say. What made things worse was that Leo was still here, sat next to me on the bed with his head hanging low to avoid eye contact. I didn't blame him, it was awkward as hell.

There was no way that I could have predicted they would come home early. They always came home late for christsake! And of course the one time they decide to pop up early is in the middle of a Harvey special party whilst I was getting my horn on with Leo in my bed.

I could hear Harvey chucking the last few random people out door, followed by it slamming behind them. After a couple of moments, he slowly appeared by my door.

Our parents looked between the both of us, their expressions stone cold.

"Front room. It's time for a little catch up." My mum sweet voice was laced with anger as she made her way towards the lounge. My Dad stayed in place as he waited for Leo and I to stand up and leave. Harvey had already hurried after our Mum.

For a 30 second cleaning job, Harvey hadn't done bad. Don't get me wrong, there was still crap everywhere, but it looked a lot better than it did before. Dad followed behind Leo and I knew he was feeling extremely tense from this situation.

I wanted him to not be here but it was no use. They caught us red handed and I knew they were not happy about it.

So, here we all were, sitting in the front room. Leo and I on the double sofa across from my parents who occupied the three-seater. Harvey drew the short straw and was plonked on a bean bag in the corner.

At first, all there was was silence. A deafening silence that made me skin crawl.

I still had no idea what to say because I felt like if I tried to say anything it would just make things ten times worse.

"So," My Dad started, reaching for a bottle of beer that wasn't open from the table and opening the cap by using his teeth and spitting out the metal lid "What exactly have you two been up too?"

He was aiming the question at Harvey and me and I could feel the sweat beading on the back of my neck.

"W-Well we were just relaxing before the rest of exams came around." I managed to stutter out.

It sounds bad at how scared I am right now of my own parents. They were actually extremely chill people, but their rules are absolute. I mean, they made me break up with Brendon when they found out about us so shit was not going to be pretty right now.

They allowed us to live freely without them looming over us and supporting us financially for the past couple of years so all they wanted in return was for the rules to be followed... And we've basically spat those rules back in their faces.

"It was my idea." Harvey blurted out and I glared at him, shaking my head.

"It was both of us." I added on, not wanting my twin to take all the blame "It's just been a stressful time you know? Something like this was a big help and-"

"How long have you and Eliana been together." My Mum caught me off guard by cutting me off and directing her attention to Leo who still hadn't said a word.

Leo looked like a deer in some headlights, his body tensing up "Uh, for a couple of months now. We do ballet together."

My Mum raised her eyebrows at him and glanced over to Dad who took a swig of the beer.

"Is that so?" Evelyn McCoy was the type of woman who could change someones mood just by looking at them. She cocked her head to the side and tucked some loose strands of hair behind her ear "How did your competition go then sweetie?"

"You didn't get my text? We won it, Mum." I was annoyed that they didn't get my message that I sent them but since they could barely get a hold of us before from the bad signal, I should have expected it.

Since she was still angry, I could see that she was holding back on congratulating me, but the faintest of smiles pushed its way onto her lips and disappeared within seconds.

"And when are you going to be heading back to the studio?" She questioned further, crossing her legs and relaxing back into the sofa and taking a swig of the beer that my Dad offered to her.

"Well they've got works going on there at the moment so all practicing will be on hold until the summer holidays." I explained, thinking about the email that Miss Lacey sent to everyone earlier this morning but I was thankful for it because of exams going on at the same time.

No way would I be able to focus on both at the same time.

"I see."

God, there was nothing worse than my Mum saying something so simple, because it meant she was analyzing the hell out of it.

When it comes to parents, most people have the thing of being "scared" of their Dad and close to their Mum.

In this household it was the complete opposite. My Mum was one scary person and I would much rather get a telling off from my Dad instead of her.

I was more of a Daddy's girl when I was younger and I had a better connection with him than I did my Mum.

Then again, she was the one that worked 24/7 and was barely home. She worked in some sort of insurance company and they seemed to need her input on every single thing they worked on so she might as well have lived at her office.

My Dad on the other hand was a mechanic for one of the leading car shops in the area. He basically owned the shop so that's why he could get away with being on holiday most of the time.

Out of nowhere, Harvey stifled a yawn which caused all of us to look his way. Well, it was like 2am so no wonder he was tired.

My parent's looked at each other, as if they were trying to read their thoughts. Reluctantly nodding, our Mum looked between us, abruptly standing up and holding out her hand for her husband.

"We'll be back in the morning. 9am sharp." She moved from the sofa and towards the front door where a few cases of luggage were sitting.

My Dad slowly followed, downing the rest of the beer and sitting the bottle back onto the table.

As he stood up, his eyes locked onto Leo "I think it's time we all headed to sleep."

Leo stared right back at him, his hand quickly moving to hold mine and squeezing it gently before he left, my Dad following directly behind him.

As soon as the front door closed, Harvey and I just stared at each other, disbelief and exhaustion in both of our faces.

"Well... That could have gone a lot better." Harvey sighed, rubbing his hands down his face.

"Yea, no shit Sherlock."
