《Ballet With The Bad Boy》Chapter 35

It felt like I was famous. Leo was acting like my bodyguard, just watching my every move.

We had 5 minutes left of detention and the nerves were slowly creeping up on me.

I had practically watched the hour hand on the clock slowly turn from the 3 to the 4 and blew out a sigh when we were dismissed.

My bodyguard followed a step behind me as we made our way to the car park.

Noticing Leo's car, I headed in that direction and just as I went to put my hand on the car handle, the lock clicked so I could open it.

I slid in quickly, not wanting anyone to see me getting into his car. I knew that if any of Ivy's friend saw then it wouldn't be pretty for me tomorrow.

She may have said that she didn't care about what I did anymore, but this morning proved that I wasn't off her radar yet.

Leo joined not soon after, relaxing into the seat and running a hand through his hair.

"So, where do you wanna go?" Leo questioned, switching the car on and pulling out of the parking space.

I deliberated for a moment and then an idea struck me "Can we go to your other, other dance studio?"

Leo nodded and began driving towards the outskirts of town. No music played but the silence was comforting.

Every so often when we hit a traffic light, Leo would look over to me, maybe even place his hand on my thigh and rub gently with his thumb.

It was in those little moments that I melted inside and couldn't help but let a smile play onto my face.

Part of me wanted to feel like I did before, but I couldn't help but think about the whole situation with Ivy. From what my brother said to me and the whole locker fiasco this morning, I needed clarity on it before I fell any deeper.

We were 20 minutes into the drive when Leo finally broke the silence.

"You're thinking hard." He commented, not taking his eyes off the road. He was right, I couldn't stop thinking about everything and anything. It was driving me crazy.

I was debating on whether I should ask him about what was going on with Ivy. It would make things a lot better in my head, but did I really want to know the answer?

Shit. Here goes nothing...

"This morning, I saw you by my locker with Ivy... And my brother said someone saw you with her... Should I be worried?" My nervousness got the better of me, my voice coming out small and quiet.

I finally decided to look and Leo and he looked confused as hell.

"What? Ivy is my lab partner for our new science project, I just put up with her when we study. Yea she tried to come on to me this morning but I turned her away. She's a really needy girl and a bit too crazy for me anyway." Leo explained and I couldn't help but let out a deep breath.

Jesus I was getting so worked up about it all.

I mean my brother was probably trying to put it in a way that made me not want to talk to Leo and start to not like him. And Ivy was just a mastermind who wanted to ruin me.

Things were starting to come out a lot clearer.

"Why's that? Did someone say something?" Leo asked and I sighed again.

"Ivy... was kind of threatening me. She liked you and was trying to use me and my brother to get you guys together, but when she noticed we were getting closer, she started to get nasty about it. She planned everything this morning so you would be by my locker at the right time." I explained and Leo's eyebrows furrowed.

"I was at your locker waiting for you this morning."

And she was probably counting on that. Ivy was smart, and was using everything she could to get to me and to get her own way.

"I'd try and look for a new lab partner if I were you." I laughed a little "She's definitely not done with her little mind games yet."

Leo laughed a little as well "Trust me, first thing tomorrow morning I'm switching class."

And with that little conversation out the way, my shoulders felt a lot lighter.

Now all I had to do was tell Leo about his deranged Dad seeking me out and ambushing me in a cafe.

I was gonna wait until we were at the industrial estate to do that. The only reason I asked Leo to take us there was because I didn't know how he was going to react. I'd rather him get angry and freak out in somewhere abandoned and already broken rather than his house or somewhere public.

We eventually made it to the estate. Like the last time we were here, it was empty and Leo parked his car in front of the same building we danced in.

We made our way to the clearing and I noticed the streaks in the dirt from where we danced.

Music started playing from beside me and I noticed Leo had already shrugged off his jacket and and began stretching his arms. I guess he still wanted to dance.

Maybe it will relax him more... I thanked god that I decided to put a tank top on underneath by hoodie.

I pulled it over my head and tied my hair up with the hair elastic I had around my wrist.

Before I even had a chance to place my hoodie over Leo's jacket, he had grabbed onto me, puling my body into his.

It felt like forever since we were like this even though it was only a day ago. I missed the warmth of Leo's skin against mine. Even his smell which engulfed my senses.

Instead of actually doing the routine, Leo and I just swayed to the music, one of his arms banded across my back and the other held my hand.

My head rested gently on his head, noting how his heartbeat picked up when I slowly rubbed circles onto his back with my fingertips.

"What you asked me in the car, was that what was bugging you?" He asked quietly, placing a small kiss on the top of my head.

Ok, no going back now. As much as I wanted this moment to last forever, Leo needed to know.

And this time, I was going to tell him everything. Even about Ivy and my leg.

I took in a deep breath "Ok, all I ask is that you please don't get mad and know that I'm fine. First quick little thing, I didn't just fall over the other week, Ivy attacked me and shoved her heel into my leg, that's why I don't really like her anymore."

I could sense Leo was about to rage but I stopped him, pulling away from his hold and placing my hand over his mouth "Wait, I'm not finished."

Instead of continuing to dance, I pulled Leo down to the floor with me, making it so we were sitting cross legged in front of each other. I held my hands in his, my thumbs rubbing circles on his skin.

"When I left school this morning, after I saw you and Ivy, I went to cafe in town to take my mind off things. Once I made my order, a man sat down with me." The further I went on the harder I found it to speak without feeling my eyes welling up with tears.

Leo looked impassive, I could tell he was mad from what I told him before and this was going to be the cherry on top.

"I couldn't place where I had seen his face before, but those hazel eyes and dirty brown hair placed it in my brain."

Leo's grip on my hands tightened slightly. He knew who it was.

"We were in a public place so he couldn't try anything, but he knew who I was. He wanted me to give you his number." I took a deep breath "Devin wants you to contact him."

And that was the last straw, Leo couldn't rip away from me faster even if he tried. He reached for the first thing he saw which was a brick covered in a pile of dust and pelted it at one of the non-broken tiles in a window.

The smash sounded throughout the whole building, small shards of glass flying around which made me back away from him. I was up on my feet quickly, watching Leo's every move.

Next he grabbed an iron rod that was resting against a nearby wall and began hitting anything he could see. The sound was so loud that I had to place my hands over my ears.

The metal on metal contact vibrated through the concrete floor and made dust particles fly up into the air and cloud the room.

After a few more rage fueled hits, Leo dropped the rod onto the floor. It was only then that I heard his sob. He had been crying.

I moved as fast as I could to his side, suffocating him into a hug and holding onto him as if my life depended on it.

"It's ok." I shushed him, his head burying into my neck as he slowly returned the hug.

"He only wants me..." Leo sniffled, his mouth muffled against me "Why the fuck is he going after you?"

"I have no idea, but trust me, he's not gonna get that close again."

There was no way I was gonna let Devin hurt Leo again. Even if it meant hurting my brother by not staying away from Leo, there was so much more going on that he knew about.

And there was no way in hell I was going to lose Leo.
