《Ballet With The Bad Boy》Chapter 11

Brushing my hair out of my face, I was surprised when I saw Brendon standing in front of me. It was the school prom and the theme was a masquerade ball so there were masks and ballgowns as far as the eye could see.
Looking down at myself, I was in a baby blue gown which was a 1800's style with a fitted bodice that puffed out at the hip with layers upon layers of fabric that swirled around my feet.
I didn't even have a dress for this as I wasn't planning on even going to the prom. I looked around the building, confused as to why I was here when a hand wrapped around my waist.
Turning my head, I found Leo standing beside me, a black velvet mask covering his eyes and his dirty blond hair styled messily so it fell either side of his face.
I was here with Leo? But Brendon was right there?
When I looked back forward however, I found Brendon in the arms of another girl. Her hair was exactly the same as mine, raven black and falling over her shoulders.
His eyes were engrossed in her, his smile stretching from ear to ear as she spoke to him.
He used to look at me like that.
I went to move to him, but my feet couldn't move and Leo's arm around my waist kept me still.
"I don't understand." I choked out, feeling the tears brimming my eyes.
"You never will." Leo replied, moving from my side and standing beside Brendon.
Before I could even register it, Leo's hand went to Brendon's neck and with ease, lifted him off his feet.
My heart felt like it was imploding as Brendon's face went redder and redder and his breath came out in strangled noises.

He wasn't even struggling in Leo's grip, just letting him kill him.
Every attempt to move failed and I stayed rooted to the ground, tears spilling onto my cheeks. I didn't understand... Why was this happening?
Just as Brendon's eyes fluttered closed, I could move forward towards him-
I couldn't help but lurch upward into a seated position when I finally woke up from my dream. Well, my nightmare.
My heart was beating erratically and I moved my hand to rub my aching chest. What the hell was that?
I couldn't remember the last time I had a dream about Brendon. Even then not one so... dark.
A shift of movement from beside me snapped me out of my sleep state to find Leo lying soundly beside me.
His hair still looked slightly damp so I imagine I wasn't asleep for long. I could just about make out the time on the clock that hung on the wall across the room.
4:10.
I had only been asleep for about and hour and a half, but it felt like longer. I shifted my body back down onto the bed, tucking my arm under the pillow and laying down so I was facing Leo.
If I had another dream like that, I didn't want to go to sleep.
Just as I went to close my eyes once again, Leo stirred slightly from his sleep. His face bore one of pain and discomfort.
Narrowing my eyes, I could feel his body fidgeting from under the covers.
"Leo?" I whispered, seeing if he was awake or not. When he didn't reply and his movement stopped, I went to close my eyes again but only stopped when I heard Leo.
"No... Please... Don't..."
His voice was quiet and the words in fear as the disgruntled look returned to his features.

Suddenly, his hands reached up and covered his face, as if to block himself from something... Or someone.
"Dad... No..." His voice came out as a cry this time and I just froze, slowly sitting up and a tear sliding down my cheek.
I had no idea what to do. He was having some sort of flashback and I had no idea what to do.
"Leo?" I spoke a bit louder than before, trying to hold back the sob that was making its way up my throat.
It was horrible, just watching him panic and in pain.
When he cried out again, I put my hand on his shoulder and went to shake him but his movements suddenly changed.
His hand gripped my wrist and pushed me away. In a matter of seconds, Leo had grabbed my arm and wrist and was squeezing them tightly and hovering above my body.
"You'll never hurt me again!" He growled, the grip on my body becoming stronger and stronger and I couldn't help but let out a cry of pain.
Struggling in his grip, more tears fell out of my eyes "Leo!"
This time I shouted, bringing my knee up and knocking him in the stomach.
He keeled over, falling to the empty side of the bed and eventually, his eyes fluttered open.
"...Eli?" There was nothing but confusion on his face and the sob I'd been holding back broke out. I pulled my hands to each other and rubbed at the pain.
I cried hard. For the pain in my wrists, for my dream and mostly for Leo.
It didn't take a genius to figure out what he was dreaming about.
"Shit! Eliana, I'm so sorry." Leo sounded broken as his eyes went to my hands which were cradling each other.
"What the hell happened to you?" I asked, my voice sounding broken.
Leo rubbed his face with his hands, his breathing deep.
"I-... it was just a dream." He stuttered his words, his brown eyes staring into mine as he sat up from his lying position.
"Bullshit. I heard what you said." I glared at him, there was no way he could lie his way out of this "You said Dad."
Leo clenched his eyes shut, the dream still fresh in his brain I can imagine.
"Surely you can guess from that." His voice sounded defeated.
I couldn't help myself, I reached forward and hugged him. I hugged him as if it could wash away the memories and pain he was in.
I was terrified. For him and for me.
Eventually, Leo hugged me back, using the same pressure on me as I was using on him.
It never clicked in my brain that Leo never mentioned his Dad. Not even once. Even earlier when we got in, he said that his Mum had a good job.
Not his Dad.
We stayed in that position for what seemed like hours. I only let him go when I could hear his breathing returning to a normal, steady rhythm.
"I'm going to sleep on the floor." Leo said softly, I went to say no but he cut me off "I don't trust myself to sleep next to you Eliana. Don't ask me to stay."
Without another word, Leo grabbed the pillow he was sleeping on and chucked it on the carpeted floor.
Reaching under his bed, he pulled out a blanket and sunk to the floor.
My heart broke for him.
