《Ballet With The Bad Boy》Chapter 8

"Where have you been?"

I was surprised that Harvey even acknowledged me when I walked through the front door.

He was sat on the sofa with Hunter relaxing in the armchair on the other side of the room.

I could see the marks on Hunter's face as soon as I walked in. He looked 10x worse than Leo.

"Just at the school gym. Needed to fit in a small session before my dance class tomorrow." I replied bluntly, moving over to the kitchen and shoving my dirty clothes from my gym bag into the washing machine.

"Yea, sure." Harvey scoffed and I narrowed my eyes. Switching on the machine to do a quick washing cycle, I made my way back into the front room.

Harvey, was staring at me with a 'I know something you don't' look on his face.

Hunter on the other hand was just looking into the reflection of his phone, trying to see if his nose was still bleeding.

"And what's that supposed to mean?" I questioned, raising an eyebrow and placing a hand on my hip.

"I saw you in the gym with Leo. You looked pretty close if you ask me."

I actually couldn't believe that Harvey was talking to me like that.

One, what was he doing skulking around the school at that time anyway? And two, what did he see? Because I know Leo didn't want anyone to know that he danced.

"So? We train together if we're both there. Like on the run we did the other day." I spoke in a matter of fact voice, making sure I didn't give away that I was nervous "What were you doing that late at school anyway?"

Hunter's attention was now on the conversation between my brother and I.

Harvey's eyes darted between Hunter and me "No reason, just catching up on some science work."

"The science block is on the other side of the school so there's no way in hell that is true." I argued. Jheez, if my brother was going to lie, he could have at least gotten a better story.

Before Harvey went to speak again, I cut him off "Look, before you even decide to think you have a say in what I do in my life, Leo and I are friends and we have a common interest. I don't care what happened between him and Hunter. Sort it out yourselves."

I didn't give him a chance to answer me either. I made my way to my bedroom without a second thought.

The anger inside me towards my brother hadn't reached this level for years.

The last time I physically wanted to hurt my brother was when he went out to a party, got drunk and ratted me out to our parents that I had my boyfriend at the time over whilst he was out.

The thing that makes it worse is that I told my parents that Harvey was at Hunter's house and in return he wouldn't say to them that I had Brendon over.

My parents were at a friends at the time for business deal so they said it was fine. Only until Harvey decided to get completely off his face and call them at 4 in the morning to tell them that I was sneaking a boy in the house.

He still hasn't apologised to me for it. And what only makes it worse was that that was the reason that Brendon and I broke up.

In our parents eyes, I was too young to have a relationship and I should be focusing on school. So I had to cut ties with Brendon.

It made it easier that Brendon then moved schools because his parents moved away so I didn't have to deal with the heartbreak for long.

It was still a shit situation though.

By the time I'd finished off the last of my homework, I could hear the usual shouts and laughter from Harvey's friends in the front room.

Rolling my eyes, I silently made my way to the kitchen to make myself some dinner.

What completely stunned me was that Leo was sitting in the front room next to Hunter, laughing and joking along with all the usual suspects.

I guess Harvey took my advice with making amends.

As I started cooking some pasta, there was a small knock at the front door. Seriously? More people?

I ignored it and carried on stirring the pasta in the boiling water but then the door knocked again, I growled in frustration.

They were being so loud that they couldn't even hear the door.

"Don't worry, I'll get that." I called out to them, only Leo and Hunter acknowledging me as Harvey and the other two guys were playing on the Xbox.

I could smell the rain before I heard it as I opened the door, expecting a couple more of Harvey's guy friends.

But imagine my surprise when the open door revealed Ivy. She looked completely made up, hair curled and only wearing a small crop top and skirt.

She was holding a jacket over her head to protect her hair from the rain.

When Ivy saw that it was me and not Harvey, she glared, stepped into the house and simply chucked her wet jacket to me.

"God, that weather is gross." She complained, not even bothering to wipe her shoes before she tracked wet, muddy footprints into the cream carpet.

Just as I was about to snap, Harvey appeared and grinned at Ivy "Didn't think you were coming over till later?"

"I know, but Kirsty had boy problems so I left her to deal with them before the party." She shrugged her shoulders and twirled a lock of her brown hair in her fingertips.

"Well, you'll have to deal with us until the rest of the party arrives then." Harvey explained and my eyes widened.

Harvey was throwing another party!?

He usually would give me the heads up so I can make myself scarce but it seems he didn't care about our little arrangements anymore.

I let the front door slam shut as I stalked past them and went back to the kitchen.

I found Loki at his food bowl and tried to calm myself down by stroking him.

Honestly, Harvey really knows how to grind my gears. I don't know what was happening now either, it seems all mutual respect between the two of us was just gone.

It's like we were just roommates.

I could feel the tears brewing in my eyes but I blinked them away as I finished making my food.

I don't know why I carried on making it as I had completely lost my appetite.

Making sure to grab Loki and his food bowl before I went, I awkwardly carried the three items with me back to my bedroom.

The only reason why I took Loki with me was because the last time Harvey threw a party, Loki was left to roam about and I discovered him the next morning with his whiskers all singed on the left side of his face.

Placing Loki on the floor of my room along with his bowl, I closed my bedroom door and plonked myself down in my bed as I picked at my pasta.

As the hours passed, the music from the front room became louder and louder and I had to put my headphones in to drown it out.

Loki made himself comfortable underneath my covers and fell asleep easily.

The sound of drunk teenagers penetrated my ears and I groaned in annoyance as despite having my headphones in, I could still hear everything.

Why did Harvey have to throw a party? On a Monday of all days.

It reached two in the morning and no matter how hard I pressed my hands over my ears, I couldn't block out the sound of the party.

Just as I was about to close my eyes and try to sleep again, there was a rather loud knock on my locked door.

I swear to God if this was Harvey, I was not going to hesitate to punch him in the face.

I gently peeled back my covers, revealing Loki who was sound asleep curled up in a ball.

I tied my hair up into a messy bun so it wasn't all over the place and unlocked my door.

When I opened it, it revealed none other than Hunter. He was wearing the same pair of black skinny jeans and black button up shirt from earlier.

"Can I help you?" I muttered, assessing how wasted he was.

I mean, I've seen Hunter drunk as hell before. It was a funny sight, but if he was drunk then I didn't want to deal with him.

"Can I come in?"

My eyebrows narrowed and I paused before nodding my head. Opening the door enough for Hunter to come in, I closed it after him, not even wanting to look down the hall to see how much mess there was.

Hunter sounded a little worse for ware, but not totally wasted which I was happy about.

He was looking around my room, then I realised that he had never actually been in my room before. Probably only saw it from a distance when the door had been open.

"What's up?" I questioned, curious as to why he decided to bother me.

"I dunno... I just wanted to talk to you." Hunter shrugged his shoulders, sitting on my bed in the process.

Ok... This was getting weirder and weirder.

I joined him on the bed, making sure I didn't move too much to wake Loki.

"Well, what do you wanna talk about?" I pushed further. Hunter looked like his mind was on a thought trip.

I'd never really had a problem with Hunter, he was never rude to me like some of Harvey's other friends.

He pushed his dark hair out of his face which revealed some astonishingly blue eyes that I had never realised before.

"I don't know how to say it..." Hunter's face scrunched up into one of confusion and frustration.

I placed a hand on his shoulder "It's fine, just say it. I'm sure I'll understand."

And that's when Hunter paused, looked me in the eye and kissed me.
