《Forbidden Flower》Chapter 51

Russia was my home country but it had never been home. Although coming back here after almost five years, memories couldn't help flashing back into my head. This country was a bitter sweet place that I knew I would never be able to forget.
Father sent one of his men to collect me from the airport. The man in black drove me through the city and out into the place that I despised all my life. The grand mansion of father was built in the middle of gigantic trees making it looked like a magical castle among the nature.
But, there was no such thing I could recall as magical here. All memories were nothing but coldness filled with hatred, blood on my hands for the first time, the place I watched him kill my mother and where he ruined me then shaped me into a killing machine.
" Welcome home. It's been so long, Anastasia dear. " Rose Mary, my bitchy step mother greeted with a smile on her face.
My eyes wandered down to her swollen belly with no emotion as my lips pressed into a thin line. She was pregnant with my half sibling and I couldn't help but pitied the innocent child that was carrying my father's blood. I pitied the baby that it might go through the same thing he put me through and I feared it wouldn't be able to handle it.
" Congratulations on your pregnancy. Get out of my fucking face. " I grunted walking passed her into the mansion.
Father was in his office, as predicted. He sat in his throne just liked the last time I had seen him before he sent me on a suicide mission. He raised his champagne glass into the air with a smirk on his face as I walked into the room.
" Where is my fucking daughter? " I gritted my teeth slamming my hands on his desk.
He chuckled shaking his head and put the glass away before looking at me. " I sent you to kill them but instead you mixed our blood with theirs. "
" I was so disappointed in you at first, Anastasia. Then I came to a realization that this child might be the end to them all. Little Madeline will be the greatest motivation you will need in order to finish your mission without hesitation. " he said grinning like a maniac he was.
" Now, the question is who do you love more? The bastard Nicholas or your daughter? "
He opened his drawer, taking out an ipad and slide it across the table. I stared at the image of my little Madeline tied up on chair inside a dark basement. Her face stained with tears, making my heart hurt for my daughter fearing her life. I zoomed into the picture scanning the red marks and cuts on her body. They hurt my daughter.
Breath sucked in my throat, my legs gave up as the numbing pain shot through my heart, body fell onto the chair nearby, I looked up at him with such disgust I had never felt toward anyone before. This same man I called my father all my life was so incredibly cruel that he was willing to use his own granddaughter as a leverage to kill his enemies.
He was asking me to kill the father of my child, the only man I had ever loved. Madeline would hate me forever for killing her dad.

" You will kill the Salvatore's, if you want your daughter back in one piece. " he said cocking an eyebrow at me.
" Tell me the plan. " I muttered silently looking blankly into spaces, making him grinned in satisfaction.
I took a cab back from that dreadful mansion, not wanting to stay another minute in there with him. Staring out the cab's window, I watched the trees passing before fading away as we drove away back into the city. I dialed Tanisha's number on my phone before pressing it to my ears listening to the beeps as I wait patiently.
" Is everything ready? " I asked.
" Yes. Rudrika and her husband are here. Your grandmother is in the safe house. "
" Okay. Thank you. " I breathed out before ending the phone call.
The day ended as soon as it came. I couldn't wait until I saw my daughter again. I watched the sun setting making the sky looked like a canvas blasted with colorful paint. It was beautiful day today and this would be the very last sunset my father could ever look at.
I chose a nude colored dress with a long slit on the side showing off my thigh. The sparkles on the dress glistened against the light every time I made the slightest move, the v neck was wide dipping so low that my breasts were almost out but we all loved a good skin showing. I paired the dress with a pair of nude heels and a pair of silver blades to go on my other thigh.
Grabbing my purse along with a gun to go with it, then I was ready to leave for my father's party.
Fairy lights covered the whole mansion and under the moonlight, the dreadful mansion I hated all my life looked as magical as ever. Limos and expensive cars parked all around the mansion as rich looking people walked into the party with cheery expressions playing on their faces.
I scanned the area with a grim expression on my face, red lips formed into a thin line. I loaded my gun and dropped in my purse before getting out of the car. I was not coming to a fucking party. This was a blood bath for me and I wouldn't leave until my daughter was back in my arms.
Entering the gala, I didn't bother stopping for a weapon check at the gate or the front door. They knew exactly who I was. And, liked the outside, this place had made a full one eighty change.
Chandelier hanging in the middle of the ballroom, my father stood proudly on top of the staircase with his young pregnant wife hanging on his arm. I tore my eyes away from him not wanting to look at the two any longer.
I didn't know where he was but I knew he was here. I could feel him, his aura dancing in the air. I looked around the place trying to spot him everywhere and anywhere. He was quicker beating me in the spotting game because when my eyes landed on him he was already looking at me.
We didn't move an inch, our eyes drinking in each other and doing the silent talks.
His hand holding a champagne glass and the other holding a cigar between his fingers. I admired the way he looked in a plain white dress shirt tucked into a pair of black slacks. It was the most casual clothes for an annual ball but he won the most handsome man in my heart.

Nicholas downed his champagne and slammed it on the tray when a waiter walked past him. Putting the cigar between his lips, he shoved both of his hands into his pockets and walked away breaking our eyes contact.
I walked behind him through the vacant hallway with no single soul around. The noises of people slowly faded away as we walked further and further from the party, the sound heard was the noise of my heels clicking on the marble floor. He turned and stopped in front of the double door, I knew lead into another huge ballroom where my father killed my mother.
I sucked in a deep breath shutting my eyes closed for a moment before following him inside. This was the first time I stepped another foot in this room after twenty years.
He stood in the far end of the room, waiting for me.
" I told you I'm going to kill you when I see you again. How are you, Ana? " he asked, my name rolling out of his tongue like he was swallowing poison down his throat.
" Not if I kill you first. " I said, holding up a hidden knife. He watched me carefully but didn't budge.
I aimed, paused to stare into his eyes, then throwing, the sliver blade of my knife flew across the room into his direction. Sucking in my own breath, I watched as his left hand flew up in front of his chest catching the blade with ace. Blood dripped out of his palm, he didn't even wince as he stared right back at me with unreadable looks in his eyes.
Taking out another knife, I threw it again this time aiming at his leg. He didn't catch it in time or maybe he let it happened as if he could feel the anger raging inside my eyes, fire dancing across my eyes. I wanted to see him in pain, to pay for what I went through alone when he should have been there with me, with us.
I hated him for giving up on us. I hated him for abandoning his own daughter. I hated him for hurting me and making me cry. Mostly, I hated him for making me love him so much that it hurt.
I stared at him as he pulled the knife out of his leg like it was nothing. There was a part of me that if my absence had done any damage to him at all, that he regretted not being involved in Madeline's life, that there was a possibility that he missed me too and that his heart was as broken as mine when he laid sleepless at night thinking about me. I wanted to know if I meant something to him at all. And, if he at least care a bit about his own daughter.
Standing still in my place, I didn't move when he strode across room grabbing my neck with his fingers, slamming me into the wall. I looked at the blood covered knife pressing against the skin of neck cutting into it, drawing blood.
" Do you miss me? " he asked, a devilish grin forming on his lips and eyebrow raised in a mocking manner.
I took a moment to take a full look at him. I hadn't seen him this close for so long. All these years, he was still the most handsome man I knew. If it was possible he was even more handsome now.
His hair was a bit longer, but the messy looks he usually had was gone as he gelled it back styling it perfectly, his jawline covered with stubbles and eyes still the same stormy grey luring me into the deepest end of dark ocean at night.
My hand wandered into the back of his slack's pocket, fishing out a small dagger, lowering it to my side before bringing it up to his neck.
" No. " I finally replied, lying to myself and him.
I never stopped missing him. I thought about him everyday. I never let him go, the way his skin felt on mine, the way he touched me, the way he smelled and how he always pulled me by waist before slamming his lips on mine.
Leaving him, it was the hardest thing I had ever done when I was still madly in love with him.
I wanted to grab his face and tell him how much I had missed him, but I knew it wouldn't change a thing so I stopped the feelings that were creeping out of my throat denying to satisfy his cruel curiosity.
I wasn't here for him. I was here for my daughter. Our daughter.
" Who do you think will bleed out first? " I asked staring at the blood dripping out of the side of his neck.
" You couldn't kill me if you tried for a million year. Just like I couldn't kill you. " he muttered bringing the knife up and caressed my cheek with it.
" What do you want this time, Anastasia? "
" My father wants me to kill you and every person you ever met. " I murmured dropping the knife, eyes trained on his bloodied shirt.
" I know. I'm not stupid to come here without a plan. I'm going to kill him. "
" You can't kill him. "
" After all these time and here you are still running around protecting the same man who ruined your life. Too bad I'm not you Anastasia. Your father messed with my family and I'm going to kill him. " he said dropping my hand before stepping away from me.
I pulled him back, my hands gripping on his shirt collars . " You're not going to kill him. He's mine to kill. Do you hear me? "
A loud applause from another end of the room caused the two of us to jerk our heads up to the source of the sound before both stood still our breathe caught in our throats.
Father walked in surrounded by his armed men, with Bella tied up and unconscious. They dropped her lifeless body on the floor and I swore I could feel Nick's heart stopped right then and there for a moment before his hands balled into fists.
Then the whole Salvatore family following close behind with their guns raising in the air aiming at my father's head.
" Isn't this the most perfect reunion ever? " he chuckled clapping his hands.
