Our group, minus a few, were standing by the sides talking and joking around. Zack was standing next to me, his arm pressed against mine.
"You guys are boring, come dance with us." Cody said popping over to us, slightly out of breath, probably from fighting his way through the crowd. I looked up to Zack with a smile and he shook his head lightly.
"I don't dance." He said and I pouted before turning to Cody who smiled at me.
"I'll go, do you want to dance with me Cody?" I asked and his smile grew.
"Sure." He said holding his hand out. I started to reach forward to him but Zack quickly spun around me and grabbed my hand.
"Oh hey I love this song. Want to dance?" he asked and I laughed.
"Sure Zack. Oh, who is this song by?" I asked as he pulled me into the crowds of people.
"Uhhh, I always forget... never mind that." He said and I smirked at him. He let out a chuckle realizing I knew exactly what he was doing and just shrugged. We started to move to the music but apparently the DJ decided to take that exact moment to switch the music.
The tune slowed and I looked up to Zack who held his hand out. I took it, stepping closer to him as the people around us started to do the same. Zack led my hands up to his neck and I clasped my hands together around it as his arms snaked around me. His hands settled on my hips and we started swaying to the music.
"I thought you said you couldn't dance." I said quietly and a small smile overtook his features.
"I said I don't dance, but I made an exception for you." He said and my face matched his.

"Oh really? Should I feel special?" I said and a soft expression settled in his eyes.
"Very." Is all he said before a comfortable silence enveloped us. I looked up into his eyes that were slightly shadowed by the dim light. My eyes trailed to the details of his face, the small scars, the shadows from his hair that was set neatly in place, the outlines of his features.
My eyes met his again but fluttered closed as his head dipped and lips met mine. The kiss was sweet, slow, and made my head spin as I resisted the urge to run my fingers through his hair and mess it all up. His hands slipped to my lower back and he pulled my closer.
We pulled back after several long seconds and I blinked my eyes open as he did the same. We stayed silent as I dipped my head down and rested it on his chest, partially hiding my red face and partially just because I wanted to be close to him. He set his head on mine lightly as I looked around to the people around us. Several people were looking at us but I just shut my eyes, content with where I was.
We swayed along to the music, neither one of us making a move to end the dance early. I felt butterflies swarm inside of my stomach and chest as I listened to Zacks heartbeat.
I liked him as more than just a friend, that I knew. What I didn't know was what was going to come out of it. I pushed any incoming bad thoughts away and just enjoyed the moment, listening to the music, relaxing in Zack's arms, wishing it would last forever.

At almost midnight, I stepped into my house with a grin on my face and tingling lips. I tiredly made my way to the kitchen, filling up a glass with water and sipping on it as I peeled my heals off with a sigh. A smile stayed on my face as I placed the glass into the sink and turned around, planning to go change and go straight to bed.

The wind was knocked out of me and my demeaner instantly changed as I raised my eyes to look at the man standing in front of me.
"Zoe, well don't you look nice. Did you miss me?"

Breakout: What Did I Get Myself Into?
The world is normal, and I mean completely run of the mill. People do boring things all the time, like controlling wind, moving at mach speeds and becoming able to demolish a building in one punch after eating. What...that's not normal to you? This is a world where the abnormal happens every day, thanks to super powered mutants called "Pathos". Enter: Capital City: An infrastructure with constructed on the Pacific Ocean off the coast of Japan, the basis for a school system of which the goal was to educate the Pathos on controlling their power in a safe place while also protecting those without power from being harmed. If you graduate, you could even rule the City one day! ...Or you could just take advantage of the free student housing and perfect the art of being a shut-in... Join Reito Usodachi, a lax and jaded, but surprisingly strong 15 year old boy who's in way over his head, on his adventures in Capital City... The only problem is, he may falter a bit when he gets a grasp of how weird the people in the City actually are. Even though he's read his fair share of media and the like, no amount of reading Manga or playing games could've prepared him for this. Amateur writer here! Trying my best on my first Original English Light Novel! (On a short hiatus!)

"Elves of the Northern Vale" A Tundrawolf Story
As happened many times in the past the Fell Ice once again charged down from the north and attacked the world in its effort to turn it into a frozen ball of ice. Only the White Magic and it's ally the Sun could stand against such a vast enemy. From their home in the Valley of the Sun the great tribe of Elves could only watch as the monumental fight unfolded. As the battle intensified and the valley became threatened the tribe separated back into their four original tribes and each made their way back to their ancestral homes. Within their Vales, behind thick stone walls and under powerful domes of magic, they were protected from the onslaught upon the earth. The Elves watched for thousands upon thousands of turns as the war raged overhead. The Fell Ice against the Sun and the White Magic were locked in a struggle lasting for an age, with neither side claiming victory as the earth was ravaged. In time the Fell Ice retreated, as it had so many times in the past. Beaten, yet not defeated, only biding it's time for the next attack. It returned to its frozen Kingdom at the Top of the World, thus ending this last Age of Ice. This time, as the earth warmed around them, the Elves remained secluded from the world in their hidden Vales. They observed from afar life returning to the lands and took stock of man becoming the dominant ones as their numbers grew and spread. As the Elves watched they felt safe and secure in their Vale strongholds. They had no idea of the danger that was about to befall them. This is a stand-alone sequel to my story "Druids Bane".

Deviant's Masquerade: The Huntsman's Quest (An Urban Magic Quest/RPG)
Jon Whitaker went to summer camp expecting a nice relaxing time as a newly minted counselor in training. He was not expecting to fight an army of monsters, work with a serial killer, enter a one-sided friendship with an eldritch horror, or study under a competing witch and dark lord. But regardless of what he was expecting, his summer is over and he's made his way back home where he can try and return to a normal -for him- life. Too bad life rarely goes as expected. --- Please Note: This is forum quest/RPG I run in the same city/setting as my other stories Hacking Reality and Get Ink'd, meaning that while a majority of the plot is made up by me, the major choices as well as what each chapter is about are usually made by the actual readers in forum votes. Additionally, given how this is essentially a story version of a Tabletop game there is also a background RPG system that while the characters aren't necessarily aware of, the readers can see these stats to know how each chosen 'Action' effects their character's development.
