8:02 my eyes went wide and I flung myself out of bed. I rushed into my bathroom and brushed my hair and teeth before running into my closet to grab some clothes. I slipped them on before grabbing my backpack off my floor and my phone off my nightstand. I ran downstairs and slipped on my shoes before quickly making my way to school.
I finally walked through the heavy doors at about 8:20 which was in the middle of my second period. I speed walked to my class and took a deep breath before I slowly pushed open the door. Ms.Gail stopped and turned to me.
"Why are you late?" She asked getting straight to the point. Looks like somebody wasn't in the best mood today.
"I uh overslept. I'm sorry." I said glancing around to the rest of the class that was staring at me. My eyes landed on Zack who had a seat open to his left.
"After school detention. Don't let it happen again." She said and I sighed before walking over to the seat next to Zack and plopping down. Ms.Gail continued her lesson and a minute later, Zack started to whisper over to me.
"Are you okay?" he asked and I smiled at him with a nod.
"Yeah I'm fine, my alarm didn't go off." I said. "You don't happen to have detention today by any chance, do you?" I asked hopefully.
"I don't but I don't think it will be too hard to get one." He said smirking and my face dropped.
"No, no, that's not what I meant Zack." I said quickly.
"Is there something you would like to say to the class?" Ms.Gail asked us with a raised eyebrow.
"Oh, no. Zoe was just telling me that some of the stuff I was saying about you wasn't very nice. Carry on." He said motioning for her to continue.
"No, I would like to hear what you were saying Mr.Fuller." She said with her eyes darkening.
"Zack no." I whispered over to him panicked.
"Well I was just saying how you look like a fairy. Not a good fairy though. Like a fairy that was dragged through mud and rocks by a tractor that was plowing over her home and one of her breast implants popped along the way. Did you know you're not very symmetrical? Like at all? I think you need to go back to the surgeon. They really messed up. Like REALLY messed up. You might want to see if they have a two for one deal while you're at it. Might be cheaper to get the nose done that way. Oh and did you know y-"
"Silence!" She yelled cutting him off as the rest of the class tried unsuccessfully to keep in their laughs.
"Detention Mr. Fuller. I don't want to hear another word from you!" She shrieked with a red face making Zack smirk.

"Yes ma'am." He said saluting before leaning back in his chair and directing his smirk towards me. I just looked at him with wide eyes and an open mouth before silently turning back to the teacher who had started to angrily teach again.
What on earth is wrong with him?
Guess I'll have to wait for the end of class to find out, I already had one detention, I didn't need two.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
It was finally lunch time and Zack and I were making our way to the cafeteria to grab some food.
"All I'm saying is if I showed up in your front lawn covered in baloney, you-"
"Dear lord Zack, please stop." I said covering my ears. My poor poor ears.
"Okay, okay. But you know I'm right." He said as we stood in line waiting to grab our food. I shook my head at him with a small smile.
"Change of conversation, are you doing anything this weekend?" I asked moving forward in line.
"Nothing on the actual weekend but I was going to see if you wanted to come over on Friday. We were going to have a game night type thing, it was Sammy's idea." He said rubbing his neck. I smiled at his slight awkwardness.
"Sure, what time do you want me to go over?" I asked and he smirked at me.
"I knew you couldn't say no to me, I'm too irresistible." He said and I rolled my eyes.
"Yeah sure, how do you know I'm not going for Cody or Kyle or something?" I asked rising my eyebrow.
"Because they're not your type." He said and I moved forward in line.
"And how would you know that?"
"Because I'm your type. And I'm not like Cody or Kyle." He said smirking.
"You seem pretty similar to me." I said knowing that would get a reaction out of him. His eyes went wide and his jaw dropped as he put his hand over his heart.
"How dare you compare me to those fools, that hurts, it really does." He said dramatically.
We smiled at each other and he turned around to step forward in line. We were pretty close now, today was chicken nugget day, aka the only day I could tolerate the food here. I was lucky that I had forgotten my lunch today and not tomorrow or something. I shuttered at the thought of the gross watery spaghetti they were serving the next day.
Before I could step forward, I felt two hands land on my back and shove me forwards, making a sharp pain zip through my lower back. I put my hands forward and tried to catch myself but I ended up knocking into Zack's side. He wrapped his arm around my shoulder and caught me as I stumbled over my feet trying to regain my balance. I hissed out in pain as I was finally standing still again.
"What the fuck Sarah?" he spat before looking down to me. "Are you okay?" he asked as I stepped back trying to hide my wince.
"Yeah, I'm fine." I said and turned to Sarah who was standing there with a smug look on her face.
"I am so sorry, it was a complete accident." She said placing a hand over her mouth and looking at me with wide eyes.
"Fuck off Sandra." I said giving her a dirty look. Her face darkened.
"My name isn't Sandra." She bit out before facing Zack and turning sickly sweet.
"Do you see how dumb she is? Maybe you should come join us for lunch." She said twirling her hair on her finger.
"Maybe you should do exactly what she said and fuck off." He said annoyed as he glared at her.
"But babe, you shouldn't be wasting your time with someone like her." She said shooting me a disgusted look. I rolled my eyes.
"I'd rather be with her than you. Now leave us alone. I can practically feel my brain cells melting away with you standing there." He said before turning back to me.
She opened and closed her mouth a few times which made her look like a drowning fish before her face turned red. She glared at me and mouthed what I think was 'this isn't over' before turning and stomping away.
I let out a sigh of relief and turned my attention back to the line. I walked forward and fixed my bag on my shoulder which made another sharp pain appear as the last person in front of us moved out of the way.
"Are you okay?" Zack asked again sounding worried.
"I will be once I get my nuggets." I said giving him a hopefully convincing smile. It seemed to work as he smiled back and we the both stepped up to the counter and grabbed our food. Zack grabbed a few extra nuggets off the tray next to his while the lunch lady wasn't looking and smirked at me as I shook my head and went to pay.
5 minutes later, we were finally walking over to our usual table where everybody else was already sitting and talking away with each other. I set my tray down in my usual spot and dropped my bag on the ground with a sigh of relief. Zack did the same next to me and sat down first. I slid in next to him and looked up to the rest of the boys. Of course, Eric noticed something was off right away.
"Are you okay?" He asked and my brows scrunched up.
"Yeah, I'm fine, why?" I asked as I unscrewed the lid to my water.
"Your walking is off." He said and my stomach dropped slightly.
"Does it hurt?" Zack asked turning to me worried.
"Its fine Zack-" I tried to argue but his face darkened.
"What happened?" Sammy asked looking over to me worried.
"Skanky Sand- Sarah happened." Zack said almost using my nickname for her. I laughed at him but the rest of the boys scowled.
"Skanky Sarah?" I asked amused and he nodded his head with his lips turned up slightly.
"What did she do this time? Did she hurt you? I mean I have a no hitting girls rule but I can sic Cynthia on her and boy would she be happy to destroy her skanky little face." Kyle said heatedly and I smiled slightly at the thought of that.
"No it's fine, I'm fine, seriously. I can take a little push." I said as the rest of the boys still wore frowns.
"You shouldn't have to." Zack said annoyed.
"Where does it hurt?" Eric asked studying me.
"I'm fi-" I was cut off by Zack.
"You don't need to be so tough all the time Zo, just tell us where it hurts." Zack said slightly annoyed making me shrink back in my seat a little. Sammy glared at Zack but didn't say anything since I started to talk.
"Uh, my back hurt a little but its not that bad." I said peering up at him from beneath my eyelashes. His face softened and I distracted myself by taking a drink of water.
"Do you want me to give you a massage? I have magic hands, remember?" Cody said and everybody laughed except for Kyle who tried to start to hit him.
"You're a dick." Kyle said as everybody's laughter grew louder and that's all it took for Sarah to be forgotten and everything to go back to normal.
Huh, I guess this was my normal now, I never thought about that. I looked around to the rest of the boys with a smile as they dove back into a crazy conversation.
I looked over to Zack who picked up a few of his extra nuggets and put them on my tray. I grinned at him before picking one up and starting to eat after he gave me a wink and dove into his own food.
I mean if all I had to do was get shoved around a little to get extra chicken nuggets then I might start doing that more often.
No pain no gain, right?
Here, a man is brought to a foreign world as his new character in the VRMRPG, Underworld of Armok, at Level 1. In safety there are few benefits, only by taking risks far beyond his level could one proceed. Transported to another world, he wishes to do good and be a hero. Accumulating power to help the less fortunate. There's just one caveat; he's a Necromancer, and his greatest source of strength will probably get him lynched.Quick DescriptionAnother video game/isekai novel. Unfortunately, the MC has crossed over during character creation of a Necromancer and is Level 1. He also lacks the ever so helpful status window.Fair warning, the Friendly Villager Necromancer arc(1) is slow. He does not want to run out into the dangerous world to get killed right after arriving. Sucks to be Level 1, eh? Git gud scrub. It's basically a Slice of Life from his perspective. The Thread, in case you get a bit confused about people/places. [16+] Now probably! For strong language and violence! And anthropophagy and lewd intimations! And stupid jokes and obscure references! And philosophical ditherings and a slow pace! Make peace with the absurd, and come to terms with the terrible!
Living With Magic
Arthur, a young magician, is struggling with crippling social anxiety. The issue has reached a point where he likely won't graduate from University. Reaching a crossroads, he must decide whether to try and return to a family he despises or make his own path in the world. Is the magical power he has actually beneficial in the real world? Authors Note: I'm terrible at writing a synopsis, but over time I hope to write a better one. One of my favorite series of books is the Magicians by Lev Grossman and I hope to follow that same line of thinking within my story. How would a society built around magic actually exist and is power and magic actually as great as other stories make it out to be? The story and characters will be completely original and I will try to update the story on a regular basis. Also, any feedback would be greatly appreciated.
