*Anna's POV*

I feel a strange sense of relief and happiness as I wake up. It's not like I'm not happy waking up in my mate's arms again, but I know that the emotions I'm feeling aren't mine.

Adam pulls me closer and another wave of relief washes over me. I can't help but smile and open my eyes, meeting Adam's blues.

"Morning." I whisper.

Adam beams and kisses my forehead, "Good morning." Adam places his head into the crook of my head and a wave of relief washes over me, "I was so afraid I'd never wake up next to you ever again."

I smile at him, "I knew you'd find me."

I feel sadness course through my body, "I should have realized sooner."

I shake my head, "You couldn't have known, Adam. I'm here now, we're ok."

Adam just pulls me closer to him, "I am never letting you go again."

"Well, it would be nice if I could go to the bathroom. I have to pee." I tell him with a sheepish smile.

Adam tightens his hold on me before sighing and letting go, "Be fast."

I pause for a moment wondering whether or not to tell him about his possessiveness but already figured Adam would be clingy for the next few days, so I let it slide. I rush to the bathroom and do my business. While there, I pick up one of Adam's shirt and put it on, since I was completely naked.

When I return to the bedroom, I take a moment to appreciate my mate. He's completely naked but covered from below the waist down. I shamelessly stare at Adam's chest before I feel a wave of satisfaction, lust and mischief run through me. I glance up to Adam and for the first time I realize that it's his feelings.

I reach my hand up to my heart, as if that is where the feelings come from. Adam smiles, "It's interesting, right?"

"I kind of forgot we'd be able to feel each other's emotions." I told him truthfully.

Adam's smile widens, "I love it."

I feel Adam's love through the bond, and it makes me feel all fuzzy inside. "I love it too."

I sit down on the bed again but before I can lay back into Adam's arms, he stops me and raises his shirt slightly.

I blink in confusion before I feel Adam's concern for me, and I realize that he's checking the wound on my stomach.

He didn't bandage it back up after all the excitement from last night so it's on full display. It has healed quite a lot, but still looks nasty and red.

"Do you think we should go to a doctor for that?" Adam asks.

I shrug, "I don't know. It doesn't look infected or anything."

"We'll have a healer look at it when we get to the pack." Adam says and from his tone I know there is no room for argument, not that I mind.

"When do we have to get to the pack?" I ask.

Adam shrugs, "When we get ready."

I nod and check the time. "Holy shit! Adam it's 10:30!"

"We haven't slept well in days. I think they'll forgive us for sleeping in." Adam says with an amused expression.

"The entire place might be in chaos!" I exclaimed as I jumped from the bed and started picking out clothes.

"Anna, Will and Jace are taking care of everything right now. I think two Beta's will do the job just fine." He says as he gets out of bed and stops me from heading towards the bathroom. He instead engulfs me in a hug and kisses my mark.

"Adam" I whine, "Please, let's go. I bet Isa is worried about me as well."

"She knew when you were hurt so she'll also know that you're fine." Adam grumbles.

I frown, "Did she know I was hurt when I got kidnapped?"

Adam pulls away slightly so he can look into my eyes, but he doesn't allow me to pull away in the slightest, "She called me right after it happened. She told me she knew something was wrong and asked me where you were."

I hum, "Sounds like Isa."

"It's kind of weird that you two have that thing going on. It's almost similar to a mate bond." Adam mumbles mostly to himself.

"I guess... Anyway, we should get ready!" I speak up before trying to free myself again.

Adam groans, "I don't want to let you go though."

"Weren't you the one who told me we could never stay the entire day in bed because we have responsibilities." I argue.

"That was before you got kidnapped and I almost went rogue trying to find you." Adam shoots back.

I roll my eyes, "You found me again! And now we're mated, and the rogue thing is not a problem anymore."

Adam was silent for a while, and I knew he was trying to find more arguments. Eventually, he accepted defeat, "Fine, but tonight you're mine again, mate." He says with a grin.

"I'm always yours." I respond as he finally lets go of me. A wave of love and happiness washes over me and I smile knowing Adam cares so much for me.

An hour later we arrive at the Howland River Pack. Will and Isa are waiting for us and Isa doesn't waste time and engulfs me into a hug as soon as I'm out of the car.

I let out an 'oomph' as she hits the sensitive spot on my stomach and Adam's concern washes through me as he pushes my sister away and checks my stomach.

"Adam I'm fine." Adam just grumbles in response.

I look back up to Isa and Will to see both looking at us with wide eyes. Then, all hell breaks loose and Isa jumps me again, "You're mated!" she exclaims incredibly loud, and I want to roll into a ball from embarrassment.

There are so many pack members around that heard us. 'Even if they didn't hear Isa's exclamation just now, we smell like a mated pair now.' Adam links, making my face turn even more red.

Isa let's go of me and jumps Adam next, "Congrats Alpha!"

I immediately feel disgust and anger surge through me and Adam pushes my sister away like she's burning him. I roll my eyes, I didn't know his aversion to female contact aside from mine was this bad.

Will pulls Isa in a possessive grip and Adam does the same for me. I make eye contact with Isa again and we both bust out laughing. Males.

"Welcome, Alpha, Luna. Should we head to the study?" Will eventually says.

Adam and I nod and we start heading over. "Where is Jace?" Adam asks, getting straight to business.

"In the study preparing things." Will answers, and Adam lets out a hum in return.

When we reach the pack house, I see some of my students standing there. Zane is the first one that speaks, "Will you accept us Luna?"

I pause and tilt my head in confusion. Accept?

I'm about to ask when Adam speaks up, "We'll have a pack meeting later today. Run along, pups."

The kids scatter and I look up at my mate with a confused expression. 'I'll explain in a bit.' Is Adam's simple response and I nod.

When we arrive at the study Jace is there waiting for us with his mate, Talia. I've met her once before, when we were at the pack lands with Fred, but we haven't talked much.

"Welcome, Alpha, Luna." Jace speaks up with a smile.

Adam nods and I give him a smile. Jace frowns before realization hits him and his smile widens, "Congratulations on your complete bond."

Adam puffs up like a peacock and I can feel his pride through the bond. I just give a sheepish smile.

Talia asks me how I'm doing health wise and I give her a reassuring nod, telling her I'm doing fine.

After some initial talk, we get down to business. Jace and Will fill us in on the situation. Apparently the pack is under control, though they're all wondering what is going to happen to them next. That's when the next big question is asked.

"Everyone is really just wondering who our next Alpha and Luna will be." Jace says.

I frown. I figured that Adam beating Ray would make him the Alpha, but I guess not? Adam seems to feel my confusion and grabs my hand. "Way we have some privacy to discuss things?" he asks.

The Beta pairs nod and leave the room, leaving Adam and I. Adam sits down in the desk chair and pulls me onto his lap. "Usually, after the death of an Alpha, the Beta takes over the pack. In this case, another Alpha killed the Alpha, so now we have to discuss whether we take it or Jace and his mate."

I frown, "I thought the other Alpha would have priority?"

Adam smiles, "Being Alpha and Luna of one pack is a big responsibility. Some Alphas take over a pack but don't want to actually lead two packs. They might have had to kill an Alpha because they invaded their own pack lands, or because a situation like ours."

"Oh... but we didn't have a pack to begin with." I point out.

"Exactly, but that doesn't mean we shouldn't discuss this. Being the Alpha pair is more than a full time job. We'll be busy most of the time. You also won't be able to teach full time anymore, if at all outside of the pack. Alpha's and Luna's don't usually get jobs besides taking care of the pack." Adam explains.

I hum, that is a big decision to make. Adam continues, "Of course, you'll still be able to teach and tutor inside the pack. However, if you want to keep your job as it is now, no one will blame you. It will be a massive change, and it's ok if you're not ready for that."

I know he's trying to reassure me that not picking the pack is ok, but his emotions gives him away. The pride and excitement of having a pack again surges through me in waves, and I know that Adam has wanted a new pack ever since he found me. I know how much losing his old pack affected him, and how he was born to be an Alpha, an Alpha of a pack.

And if he was born an Alpha, that means that I was born as a Luna, no?

"Can I finish the school year? You can't just quit your teacher job halfway through..." I ask.

Adam nods, "It will be busy, but we can work it out if you want." He pauses, "Does that mean you want us to take the pack?" he asks, and in his voice I can hear the excitement.

I chuckle, "We've talked about creating a new pack, right? I know you want to do this."

Adam smiles, "I do, but I'm asking you, love. I have always been ready to become Alpha. I've trained half my life for it. Are you willing to become my Luna?"

I can't keep the smile of my face, "Of course, my Alpha. Someone has to keep you on your toes." I say with a wink.

Adam rolls his eyes and pulls me in for a kiss. He then pulls away and looks at me with sparkling eyes, "Let's let the pack know then."

"Oh my goodness! You look stunning!" Isa exclaims as she sees the final product.

I'm wearing a beautiful white satin gown that flows out from my waist. The dress has long sleeves, appropriate for the snowy weather. On my shoulder lies a greyish white cloak made of animal skin, apparently it is a tradition of the Howland River Pack to wear a cloak like this. My hair is loose, another tradition and I'm wearing a pink flower crown on my head.

"I can't believe we're actually having your Luna ceremony!" Isa squeals as she does some finishing touches to my hair and make-up.

"Looks like you're getting married." Fred speaks up as she holds out my shoes. They're just some white flats. We decided to keep them simple. I know I won't be able to walk through the snow in heels. The dress has a small train anyway, so not many will see the shoes.

I let out a breath, "It does, doesn't it? With he white dress and everything." I chuckle.

The past three days were chaos. We let the pack know we were to be their new Alpha and Luna. After that, there was a lot of paperwork and talking to people. Figuring out what the situation was and what things had to change now that Adam and I would be in charge.

The first problem was the fact that we had no Gamma. However, because of Jasper's help in finding me, Adam asked him if he wanted to fill the spot, to which he said yes.

The rest of the pack was running smoothly, mostly thanks to Jace, who did a lot of the paperwork when Ray was the Alpha. Adam and I spent most of the time getting familiar with the pack and how it worked. Adam and Jasper went out to observe training and border patrol and made some changes here and there while Talia and I went out to see the cooking, cleaning, education and health part of the pack, making sure everything was running as it should and making changes if needed.

Isa took it upon herself to organize Adam and I's Alpha and Luna ceremony. She received help from a few pack members, but Isa took the lead.

Now, a few days before Christmas, it was time for Adam and I to officially get initiated into the pack. Tomorrow afternoon, we were flying to Oregon. We were originally going to skip Christmas with the family, since the pack needed a lot of work, but Jasper and Jace told us they'd keep the pack in check, and that we shouldn't create any form of suspicion with my family.

"Ok!" Isa spoke up, "Everything is perfect! Do you remember everything?"

I nodded, "I think so. First the Alpha and Luna ceremony, where we'll give our promise to the pack, and then the pack goes on a run together."

"Still wondering how you'll get on Adam's back while wearing that." Thalia speaks up as she puts on her own dress, an emerald green dress that fits her chestnut hair.

I look down at the dress, "I'm hoping it will go smoothly."

"You'll be fine! You're a fucking Luna now, Anna! Nothing can stop you!" Isa gives me a pep talk.

"I don't think becoming Luna is similar to suddenly becoming queen of the world." Fred says, making Isa scowl.

She was about to say something when there was a knock on the door. "Are you ladies ready?" the familiar voice of Will enters the room.

"Yes, Will-babe!" Isa sings before running over and opening the door.

Will doesn't look impressed on the other side, "As beautiful as you're looking today, I still don't like that nickname."

"And yet, your emotions tell me otherwise." Isa teases, she then turns around, "Ready Anna?"

I take another deep breath, "As ready as I'll ever be."
