*Annabelle's POV*

I groaned as I turned in my bed again. Isa had left the room for a bit as the doorbell rang. Yesterday definitely wasn't the favorite day of my life. Adam was right when he said the pain would be excruciating. Everything hurt and I felt sore all over. I had a constant fever and to make everything worse, nine out of ten times, my thoughts were all focused on sex.

Jesus Christ I didn't know my mind could ever get this dirty. I hadn't seen Adam much. I know he came home late last night with Will, but he slept on the couch. It hurt to the point where I had cried in Isa's arms. I missed him. I missed him so much.

I frowned as I heard Isa yell Adam's name. The door opened and a very dazed looking Adam stood in the door opening, taking me in.

Shit, did he lose control?

I frowned as he gave me a lopsided grin, "A-Adam what are you-"

"Shhh." He cut me off by shushing me. He walked over and flopped down on the bed. He then pulled me closer to him, "I'm here now. I'll take care of you."

My entire body responded to his touch, and I was debating whether to jump him or to snuggle closer and take a nap with him. I really had missed him, and just being in his arms calmed me.

"Adam I-" I tried to tell him about the heat and that we should keep a distance but he shushed me again.

His eyes started drooping as he gave me one last smile, "I love you, mate. I'm never letting you go again." He mumbled softly before he passed out.

What the hell? Did he not sleep last night or something.

I looked up and found both Isa and Will stare at us in confusion, "What just happened?" I asked in a soft tone.

Isa busted out laughing and Will sighed, "The idiot took wolfsbane."

"What?"

"Wolfsbane. It's poisonous for werewolves." Will explained.

I panicked, he poisoned himself?? "Is he ok?"

Will gave me a reassuring smile, "He'll be fine. Wolfsbane is a tricky thing. If we take enough of it, it will kill us. Injecting it into our bloodstream directly will knock us out within seconds and touching it will leave burns on our skin. However, if you have just a little bit of it, it will cut off your wolf completely, which is what the Alpha did."

I looked at Adam with a frown, "Why would he cut Cade off?"

"Because without his wolf his senses will be human. Right now he won't be affected by the scent of your heat, so he can lay beside you without losing control." Will explained further.

"Oh... but why?" maybe it was my fever, but I didn't get why he would do this.

Will continued to explain, "Mates heal faster when they're together. If he lays this close to you your heat symptoms will lessen. So he and his wolf decided that it would be best for you to take wolfsbane."

I blinked again. They poisoned themselves for me? So I would feel better. Suddenly I felt tears spring in my eyes and Isa was by my side to rub my back, "Why would he do something so stupid?"

Isa gave me a smile, "He loves you Anna. He would do anything if it meant making you feel better."

I sobbed and nodded at Isa telling her I understood, "He shouldn't though. I can deal with this myself too." I managed through my sobs. Damn, my hormones truly are all over the place.

When I managed to collect myself twenty minutes later I looked down at Adam again, "Uh... so how long will he be out?"

Will chuckled, "We don't know. I think we might have given him a bit too much. Usually it doesn't hit that hard." When both Isa and I gave him a confused look he explained further, "Sometimes, wolves use wolfsbane as some sort of party drug. Taking a small dose will basically make a wolf feel dazed and high."

"So for the next few days Adam will either be sleeping or high?" I asked.

Will nodded, "Yup. He'll have to take a new dose around dinnertime I think. And then next morning again if he wants to keep the effect going."

Isa sighed, "I'll prepare some smoothies for him."

"If he's not a threat anymore you can come back to the hotel with me. Anna will start to feel a lot better soon with the Alpha next to her." Will spoke and I could hear the silent question. This is obviously not how he wanted to spend this week. He has a week off from pack duties and spends it taking care of another Alpha couple. Isa told me my scent is apparently horrible too. Will never actually entered my room because of this. He was always standing in the doorway.

"If Anna is ok with it I'll come back to the hotel tonight. As if he can take care of her like this." Isa told him as she pointed at my passed out mate. "Speaking of which, you haven't had breakfast yet."

Isa hurried off into the kitchen, leaving me with Will, "Sorry this is how you have to spend your holiday." I told him.

"Oh no, this is all fine. I didn't mean it like that. I uh... can't sleep without Isa next to me." Will confessed as his face slowly turned red.

I bit back a smile, "Ah, so that's it."

Will sent me a glare, "I bet your mate can't sleep without you anymore either."

I looked down at Adam. I wonder if that's true. "We've only been sleeping in the same bed for like two days. A few times before that at random and a few times with Cade. It wasn't a regular thing."

Will chuckled, "I couldn't sleep alone anymore after Isa slept next to me once. Poor guy, I bet he's had trouble sleeping ever since the first time."

"That would be the first day we met. He slept in bed with me in wolf form." I told him, slightly panicked now. Has Adam been having trouble sleeping this entire time?

"He's kept a strong face then." Will said.

I sighed and caressed his cheek. Adam looked so peaceful when he's asleep.

"It's gotta be all you from now on. You know that right?" Will asked.

"What?"

"Now that Adam is all drugged up on wolfsbane he won't have the urge to mate anymore, but him being high as a kite will definitely not help with him stopping himself if you go too far with him. What I'm trying to say is, from now on it's you who will have to control your urges, because Adam will not stop you if you go to far." Will explained.

That made sense. Adam has been doing all of this because I'm not ready, I can't let him down by giving into heat. I sighed and nodded, "I'll try my best."

Will gave me a smile, "I know you will. Don't give in Luna, the Alpha will never forgive himself if something happens."

When I woke up Adam wasn't in the bed with me. We had been laying together all day, Adam being passed out from the wolfsbane. I had been slipping in and out of consciousness as the day passed.

The pain had gotten less. Adam was right in that aspect, him being close to me made everything better.

Speaking of Adam, the door opened and a barely clothed Adam walked through. He was only wearing a towel, and his hair was still wet from the shower he had taken. There was another towel in his hands, probably the one he used to dry his hair with.

"Hey, how are you feeling?" He asked softly.

I gave him a smile, "Better. How about you?"

Adam placed the towel he was holding in his hair and started drying it. "Wolfsbane wore off, but I'm good."

I let out a sigh of relief, "Thank God. I was worried you know?"

Adam chuckled and placed a knee on the bed. His towel remained in place, but I gulped as his still wet body came closer to mine. "I was worried about you as well." He spoke, his voice slightly deeper than normal.

I blushed as I leaned forward, closer to Adam, "Isa and Will?" I asked.

Adam shook his head, "They left when I woke up. I told them I'd take care of you from now on."

My heart warmed at the words. "I love you."

Adam showed me a breathtaking smile as he leaned in, "I love you too."

Our lips met, and sparks spread through my body. I sighed into the kiss. I missed this, missed him. We had kissed yesterday, but somehow my body just couldn't get enough of him right now.

Was that a bad thing?

Before I could question that thought Adam had deepened the kiss and pushed me down on the bed fully as he hovered over me. His knee came in between my legs and I couldn't help the blush that made it's way onto my face.

Adam's hands softly explored my body, making me moan at the sparks that followed.

"Adam" I breathed out huskily.

The man in question groaned at my call and his movements became rougher.

When his hand reached my breast I subconsciously bucked my hips. Adam let out a growl and his hands reached under the loose shirt I was wearing, one of Adam's shirts.

Suddenly, that same shirt was off my body, leaving me in only my already soaked panties.

Adam pulled back to look at me. His hungry eyes devoured my body as they raked over me. "You are stunning." He whispered.

I grinned and leaned up, circling my arms around his body before pulling him back down and crashing our lips together again.

The kiss quickly got heated, and my arms explored Adam's incredible body. His muscular back, his broad shoulders, his toned chest, the v-line above the towel that was somehow still in place.

I reached for it and Adam stopped me, "Are you sure about this?" His voice was strained, rough and deep, and it drove me crazy.

I decided to answer by ripping the towel off him, and taking in his hardened length. Shit, he's big!

Adam grinned, taking that gesture as consent before letting his hands dip lower across my body. When they reached my thighs I was buzzing with excitement, and Adam wasn't someone to waste time.

His fingers grazed my already soaked panties and before anything else, he ripped them off my body. I gasped and let out a moan as his fingers dug between my folds, teasing them before finally pushing into my wet core.

My back arched and I moaned Adam's name as he did so.

Adam groaned in return, "I love it when you say my name."

"Fuck Adam, please." I breathed out.

"Please what, Anna?" Adam whispered in my ear as he added another finger,

"Please." I panted, "please, I need you."

Adam growled and started to thrust his fingers harder. When I was sure I was about to come he pulled them out, and I let out a whine at the emptiness I suddenly felt.

That emptiness was thrown out of the window as Adam repositioned himself and his dick was lined up with my center.

"I love you Anna." He spoke softly as he his beautiful blue eyes looked into mine.

"And I love you." I spoke, and then he moved in.

I gasped as I shot up from the bed. The room was dark, and I felt sweaty and gross. I was still panting as I took in my surroundings.

What the hell just happened? Did I have a wet dream??

I glanced at Adam, who was peacefully asleep next to me. His long eyelashes softly covering his cheeks as he took in deep breaths.

Holy crap...

This heat was not making things easy. I literally just dreamed of having sex with him. The dream flashed through my mind and I had to clench my thighs together as heat pooled down.

Oh dear...

I decided that a shower was the right form of action, I felt clammy and gross. I hadn't showered yesterday either, which wasn't making the situation better.

I tried to get out of bed but a cramp hit me as soon as my feet his the ground. I let out a yelp as I crashed to the floor.

It must have woke Adam up, as he was suddenly by my side, "Shit, Anna are you ok?"

I nodded as I looked up at him, his eyes looked slightly dazed and still full of sleep. Adam slowly picked me up and he stood, "What do you need?"

My eyes focused on his lips as he spoke, those beautiful, delicious lips. My breathing sped up as I looked at him again, "You." I whispered before crashing my lips on his.

I moaned as soon as the sparks exploded through my body, and Adam groaned as he returned the kiss.

"Anna sto-" he started but I cut him off by pushing my tongue into his mouth.

We couldn't go any further before the bedroom door opened and Isa barged in. "Don't you dare give into this sis! I will murder you!"

It was as if I was shot from a heat infused trance. I pushed Adam away as if he was burning me but the loss of contact resulted in the return of cramps. I groaned as I clutched my stomach again.

"Anna, shit. Come lay in bed." Adam spoke as he grabbed my hand. The touch calmed the cramps instantly, but my clouded mind also flashed with illicit images.

I pulled away, "Shower. I need a shower." I managed to say between my pants.

Adam nodded and looked at Isa, who immediately took action and led me to the bathroom.

"Fucking hell Anna." Isa mumbled as she turned on the shower and helped me take off my shirt.

"I don't know what happened." I breathed out.

Isa smiled, "It's ok. Just shower and collect your thoughts."

I groaned before stepping under the water. Isa hadn't made it hot, but it also wasn't freezing. It was comfortably cooling. "If only I could. Every thought I have is of Adam and I jumping each other.

"Damn. I'm so glad I didn't go through heat." Isa muttered.

"It's the worst. I literally just woke up from a wet dream Isa. Like, what am I? A teenager?" I rambled as I tried to clean my body through the cramps that came in waves.

"It's already your second day. The two of you can do this. Adam is doing good now with the wolfsbane and the cramps lessen when he holds you right?" Isa tried to comfort me.

I sighed as I washed out the shampoo I placed in my hair. "Yeah it's better than the first day. I swear though if only I could control myself better."

Isa chuckled, "I never thought I'd hear those words from you."

"Shut up!"

After a few more minutes I turned off the shower and Isa left the bathroom before returning with another of Adam's shirts. I gladly took it and reveled in Adam's scent as it hugged my body.

After putting on panties and shorts I emerged from the bathroom once more. I was met with a concerned Adam.

"Are you ok?"

I smiled and nodded, "Doing better now that I've showered."

Adam gave me a lopsided smile before he pulled be back into bed and held me close. I had to suppress the moan from his touch.

Isa told us she was going to make dinner and I gave her a thumbs up.

"Adam?" I asked softly.

His hazy eyes found mine as his lazy smirk widened, "Mate."

I smiled back at him, "How are you feeling?"

"I'm good. Everything is still a bit hazy, but I'm good." He mumbled before giving me a kiss on the forehead.

"I'm glad you're ok. Sorry about just now." I said as I placed my hands into Adam's soft hair and started playing with the strands.

Adam purred before giving me a grin, "We didn't particularly mind. I'm glad we didn't go too far though."

I rolled my eyes, "How's Cade?"

"Gone. Still asleep. I can feel him stirring though, since the wolfsbane is wearing off." He spoke.

"Will he be ok?" I asked.

Adam nodded, "Cade is strong."

I smiled at his response. Cade and Adam are mostly bickering about things, so it's nice to see him complimenting Cade for once.

Adam rolled around so he was on his back and he placed my head on his chest. He started playing with my hair and I had to bite back the moan that threatened to escape me. Even though I still had a fever, I welcomed Adam's warmth. He just made me feel so relaxed with his presence alone. If only my entire body wasn't screaming at me to jump him this entire heat thing wouldn't be so bad.

Around thirty minutes later Isa walked in with dinner for us and another drink for Adam. We both sat up as Isa sat down the plates on my bedside table. "Will and I are heading out after this. Are you two gonna be ok?"

Adam nodded, "Yeah, I'll take care of her."

Isa raised an eyebrow and bit back a smile, "You sure? You slept for like the entire day."

Adam glared at Isa, "You put in too much wolfsbane."

Isa chuckled, "I know, I put in a little less this time around." She said, she then looked at the door, "I also placed some orange juice and wolfsbane mix in the fridge for tomorrow morning."

"Thanks, if you two want some time off tomorrow then that's fine." Adam suggested.

Isa looked at me and I gave her a smile, "We'll be fine. Go and hang out with your mate."

Isa sighed, "I'll be back to make dinner. Adam, you better not make my sister starve tomorrow morning."

"I won't. I'll take care of her." Adam reassured her.

Isa then nodded and stood up, "We're heading out then. Love you sis."

"Love you too. Thanks for everything." I responded.

"You would have done the same." Isa said with a wink.

"You know I would." I winked back.

A minute later the front door closed. Adam let out a sigh beside me and I turned to him eying his drink. "How bad is it?" I asked. Adam was pretty sober now, so I knew I'd get normal answers from him.

"The drink itself doesn't taste bad, it just works so quickly." Adam spoke almost defeated.

"What does it feel like?" I asked him.

Adam frowned for a second, "Everything is hazy. It's like you can't think straight at all. It's also just weird not having my regular senses. I can't hear what's going on in the living room for example. It's weird when that's what you're used to."

I nodded in understanding, "I can see that. I'm sorry you have to go through that."

Adam shook his head, "It's fine Anna. You're the one who is in actual pain. I'm basically just a high human."

I chuckled, "Yeah, you're quite cute really."

Adam rolled his eyes, "Sure. Whatever you say." Adam sighed and eyed the drink again, "I guess it's time."

I placed an arm on his shoulder and squeezed softly, "Thank you, for doing this for me."

Adam smiled at me, "Anything for you." He then took another deep breath before downing half of the drink. He paused for a second to take a breath. "You should eat." He said as he placed the glass down at his bedside table.

"You're not taking it all?" I asked.

Adam gave me a lazy smile, "I realized I still have to do the dishes. Eat too."

I busted out laughing. "Just place them in the sink."

Adam hummed as he grabbed his plate and fork, "Much better idea."

We both ate our food in silence. Adam became slower every minute and he eventually placed his head on my shoulder. His food wasn't fully finished. "You ok?" I asked.

He nodded, "Yeah, just love you."

I smiled, here we go again. "I love you too."

When I finished my food Adam slowly stood up to bring the plates to the kitchen. He took his drink too, saying he'd finish it in the kitchen and come back after that. He wobbled out of the bedroom, making me slightly worried. But he reentered a minute later, a bright smile on his face as he made eye contact.

He flopped down in the bed and gave me a kiss on my forehead. "You're beautiful, you know that?"

I blushed, "Thanks."

Adam pulled me on his lap and nuzzled my neck, "So beautiful." He whispered.

I couldn't contain the moan that left my mouth when he kissed my mark. "A-Adam we can-"
