Chapter

It had been three weeks since Rose had occupied that empty personal assistants table outside Caelum's office.

But probably had no idea how many times a day he peaks through that one sided glass mirror door of his marvelous office to catch glimpses of her.

She had grown quite accustomed with the life in these two weeks. Caelum had been trying his best to avoid her at home and in the office. In fact after that morning Caelum hadn't even slept in the same room as her.

She looked at the documents on her table and pressed her palm on her forehead. Everything about this marriage was so confusing for her. He was the one who kept initiating things and now he was so ...distant. Hadn't he married her to sleep with her? He had promised to stay away from her sister and family in return for her body, didn't he?

Rose was relieved that he hadn't advanced at her anymore but she was afraid, afraid of the possibility of this being the quiet before the storm.

'DING DING'

The sound of the elevator opening brought her back to her senses.

She looked up from the documents she was staring at to spot a familiar face. A face she wished she had never let her eyes find. A face she could scrub out of her memory.

"Miss me, step sister."He said. The same disgusting smirk lifting the corners of his lips. The same lips that had tainted her body.

Eric!

She couldn't move. She knew nothing why he had stepped into this office, but she knew that anything and everything that involved this man had only brought disaster in her life.

The large crystal door opened and Caelum walked out. Rosette's eyes shifted to him. His expression was a pool of ice and boredom. She had seen this look before. He always had this face on at the time for business. He merely glanced at Rose and looked at Eric.

"Hello there brother-in-law." A slight british accent creeping up in his voice.

"Hello to you too. I donot appreciate such formal tones during business Mr. Eric Grant." His voice was as cold and calm as an iceberg.

"My apologies Mr. White" Emphasizing a bit on Mr. White.

What business had Eric have to talk about. Wasn't it their dad who ran the business? Rose looked helplessly at Caelum, waiting for something. Anything. Anything to assure her that everything was okay.

But instead he fixed her with a cold glance. The one that meant stay-away.

Caelum turned elegantly on his heel heading the way to his office. Eric tossed one last disgusting look at her before following Caelum into the office.

Rose sat in the silence staring at the wall clock. The suspense was killing her. She could not hear anything of the conversation in between the two men who had ruined her life to the point that she did not wish to live it.

Did Caelum know everything that happened to her in that house? Did he make some sort of deal with that asshole? Was Eric snooping around?

She wanted to go near the door and stick her ears to the cold glass hear what was going on. But she knew better than to eaves drop on a one sided mirror door.

All she could do was sit on her desk pouting and going about her work.

She was drowning from all the worst case scenarios her brain was creating for her. When the door opened.

Out came Caelum wearing his grim-reaper expression followed by Eric.

His cold eyes landed on Rose. She couldn't help but flinch. She still wasn't used to the feel of that icy gaze on her face.

His eyes softened slightly as he said, "Please guide Mr. Grant out." As he walked across the glass panels to the left wing.

Mr. Coals department.

She was left there alone with Eric.
