I looked down at Hazel she was finally asleep. I never thought it would be this dangerous of course she would be scared after what happened today, even I was afraid that we would make out alive from that place. Getting up from the bed I made my way outside the room, reaching my office room I called Simon.

"Rafael?" He answered.

"What the fuck is going Simon?"

I was really mad at him. It was never my responsibility to face these situations, he promised me I would never have to face such situations under is security but today he broke the promise.

"What happened?"

"Watch the news. We were attacked today at Hazel's event. She got attacked twice Simon. You told me they are gonna use her to get to you and if I marry her they wouldn't dare to kill someone like me."

"It's complicated Rafael."

"I don't fucking care Simon because of you she is in danger, are you understanding that?"

"I know Rafael. I know I am trying to save her. I'll sort everything out."

"When are you going to do that? When they'll kill her."

"She'll be fine."

"How? I saw today what they can do to her if they get her. I saw how dangerous it can be. My Dad too will be in danger if they don't get her."

"Just give me some more time. No one will be harmed I swear. I am doing everything I can, till then protect her please."

I rolled my eyes and hung up.

"Fucking asshole."

I was about to go back to my room when my phone rang, it was Caleb.

"Sir, about the guy you asked me to find about."

I asked impatiently "What did you find?"

"Sir nothing."

"What?" I asked in confusion.

"Sir I couldn't find anything about him."

"You sure?"

"Sir but I am doubting something."

"And what is it?"

"Sir, he is following your wife continuously."

Well I already know that.

He continued "The meeting in the café, you told me about. I have tracked him after that, he went few days before your wife's event to that place, also I found few men keeping eye on your house, after Mrs. Martinez left they followed her to her event location and today too after he left, there was the attack. It's all just suspicious."

It is suspicious.

"Keep searching Caleb. I need to know about him."

"Yes sir."

I hung up the call. Making my way back to my room, I looked at Hazel she was sleeping on her side of the bed. I went to the washroom taking a shower, I returned and wore my sweats and a black t-shirt. Sitting on the bed beside Hazel, I was working on my laptop when I felt her shivering. Removing her duvet, I placed a hand on her forehead to check her temperature.

Fuck. She is burning.

I called her "Hazel." But her eyes were still closed she was just shivering. I called the doctor immediately and asked him to come as soon as possible.

Bringing a wet cloth, I placed it on her forehead holding her hand I sat beside her staring at her pale face. After sometime the doctor arrived he did all the checks on her and gave the names of few medicines to me.

"Get these medicines. I'm sure her temperature will fall soon."

"Is it something serious?"

"No. Not at all just normal fever. She'll be fine by tomorrow."

I nodded.

"But the medicines should be provided on time."

"Yes and thank you."

He left. I asked one of the guards to get the medicines and the maids to feed her.

"What happened so suddenly?" Dad asked.

"I don't know. She was fine when we returned after that I don't know what happened but then I saw her shivering and called the doctor."

"And about today?" he asked again.

I looked up at him "What about today?"

"You both were attacked Rafael. There's something you aren't telling me."

I shook my head "It's nothing Dad."

"How is it nothing Rafael? Tell me what is wrong?"

I have to tell Dad everything. Looking at the current situation even Dad's life can be in danger, I have to tell him so he can keep himself safe when I am not around.

Taking a last look at the unconscious fingure lying on the bed, I turned to Dad "Can we talk somewhere else?"

"Rafael."

"I don't want to do anything here. Please Dad."

Dad nodded.

We went to Dad's room, he asked me again "What is it, Rafael?"

I started "You remember Simon?"

"Simon?" He thought for sometime then said "He was your friend years ago who was in the mafia thing, am I right?"

I nodded "Yes Dad. Our friendship broke years ago but he wanted help from me."

"What kind?"

"I married Hazel not because of some deal. I married her for... Simon."

And also to take revenge.

"For Simon? What does that even mean? Get straight to the point Rafael."

Taking a deep breath, I said "Hazel is Simon's sister Dad."

His eyes widened "What? You married Simon's sister? A mafia's sister? Are you insane Rafael? Do you have any idea what have you done? Marrying someone from the mafia business means making yourself a part of that dirty business."

"I know Dad but Simon said those men who are after Hazel wouldn't dare hurting me because I am powerful and if they do that they would only get themselves in trouble."

"But clearly in here they are trying to kill the both of you. Why would you do that?"

"She's in danger Dad."

"It's not keeping her safe, Rafael it's putting yourself in danger too."

"I know Dad."

"So you are telling me that you knew you would put yourself in danger still you did it. Rafael what are you trying to prove exactly?"

I rolled my eyes "I'm not trying to prove anything Dad, I-I just want to protect her. Simon being in the mafia is not her fault Dad, it's not. She's innocent."

Dad stared at me in disbelief then cleared his throat and said "Stop this right now. Let her brother protect her."

"You were the one who wanted me to get married, right? And now you are asking me to leave her."

"I wanted you to get married and settle in life I never wanted you to die Rafael. And after what happened today you still think you can be fine when she's with you."

I scoffed "Are you asking me to leave her and let her die?"

He remained quiet.

I smiled "You can never ask me to do that because you too know she is innocent Dad."

He took a deep breath then held both my shoulder and said "I don't know what are you gonna do but just don't die. I don't want anyone of you to die. You know how dangerous this mafia thing is, you have went through this pain once."

"Don't worry Dad, I'll be fine. I told you this, so that you can take care of yourself if there is any problem when I am not around. I don't want anything bad happen to you because of me."

He patted my back.

"You should worry about yourself and Haze, not about me."

"Just in case."

He nodded "Now go take care of your wife."

"Thank you... for understanding." I said hugging him.

Pulling away from the hug I was leaving when Dad called me, I stopped and faced him.

"You married her only to save her, right?"

I nodded.

"But what I saw today it wasn't just to save her."

"What do you mean?"

"You are falling for her Rafael."

I scoffed "I'm not Dad."

"You will understand Rafael, I can see the change."

"I'll go upstairs." Saying that I left the room.

I am not falling for her. No. He's just messing with me.

When I reached my room, I saw Hazel moving. I ran to her taking a seat on the bed beside her "Hazel."

Slowly she opened her eyes I checked her temperature, I sighed in relief at least she wasn't burning anymore. I helped her to sit on the bed, she looked at me, she looked so pale, her eyes a bit red.

She gave me a pale smile.

"Feeling better?" I asked.

She nodded slowly. Her stomach growled, she looked down in embarrassment biting her lips making me smile.

"I'll ask the maid to serve you something."

She nodded again.

"Then you need to take your medicines. If you don't remember, you had a fever."

"I know. My body hurts." She complained.

"It will go away."

She nodded "Thank you for taking care of me."

Why does she thank me for everything? It's not that I am doing something too much for her, anyone would call a doctor and look after an ill person.

"It's fine Hazel. Lie down, I'll ask the maid to give you some food." I was about to get up from the bed when she held my hand stopping me.

I looked at her she scanned my face for sometime then asked "What's happening Rafael?"

"What do you mean?"

"Why is someone trying to kill me? This is the second time they attacked I can't understand anything."

I wish I could tell you what an asshole of a brother you have got but I can't.

I sat back on the bed "It's all happening because of... me." I lied. I didn't have any other choice I can't tell her anything about Simon. So I had to lie.

"You?"

I nodded. "There are some people, they are really dangerous they want something from my company, I mean they want to run some illegal business and they want us to help them but I refused so they are trying... this... way."

"You'll not do anything illegal. I'm fine. I'll be fine."

I chuckled "Yeah I won't."

I got up from the bed and sat on the couch with the laptop on my lap after informing the maid to serve Hazel food. I searched about Simon, what information does the internet has about him and the latest news was...

And with the recent 4 murders it is now 24 men who were brutally killed and left in Simon Cameron's club, officer James Kennedy confirms they all were Simon Cameron's men but Simon Cameron's location is still unknown to us.

Getting frustrated I closed my laptop. She's the next target. It's a relief that no one yet knows Hazel is Simon's sister.
